  1. Top of the pot spies . We're up early to head off to see the Grand Canyon for the first time. Need to drop River off at the dog sitter, pack the car, and all that stuff (wife seems to pack the house no matter where we go or for how long) . Still haven't decided if I'm going to go onto the "glass bottom" lookout... definitely know my wife is not. Have a great Tuesday whatever is in your schedule.
  2. Congratulations spies! This will be fun to follow and see how Callaway's furthering of AI face technology affects performance. If it follows the Odyssey AI putters, good chance some current gamer drivers hit the buy/sell thread .
  3. Glad to hear you are liking the Srixon's. They have been getting lots of accolades as far back as the Z series. I knew little about them when I had my last iron fitting in 2019 (primarily to move to composite shafts). When I hit them, they jumped to the top spot and no other could get past. While I keep going to our demo days and hitting contenders (pretty much everything this past spring), none have moved me to switch the line-up... not even the MKII's. When I tested those, I hit the ZX5 and ZX7 and really saw no difference. The fitter was straight up honest and said "much as I'd love to sell you a set of MKII's, I would not change a thing". I just set my new all time low index and won our men's league championship a few weeks ago... dancing with who brung me .
  4. I think this most accurately reflects my sentiment about what is happening to tour golf. The PGA vs. LIV storyline has soured many long time fans. I'm not even sure a reconciliation between the two tours will reverse the trend as many are also tired of the "prima-donnafication" of players (which is happening to all professional and now college sports). The points about changes in how fans view sports (streaming platforms) may very well not be accounted for and reflected in the numbers. Maybe viewership is actually up... don't know? But, for me, I don't like what is happening to the sport - now all about money - or so it seems to me.
  5. Congratulations spies!! Have fun testing these putters, we look forward to your reviews.

Congratulations Nelly!! What an impressive run of golf. Now onto #6.
  7. TGC stopped coverage of the RBC and switched to Corales. Clark makes the turn with a 29 front... crazy good golf. I'm in the ABWC group, and I want Scottie to win. He's up 3 thru 7, so far looking good. Some serious low scoring going on in both events. Horschel, Tway, and Hoffman having a shoot-out. Players hitting drivers off the deck on par 5's into the wind and putting like the hole is a 1 gallon paint can. Nelly now up by 3 thru 9 ... GET ER' DONE GIRL!!
  8. Happy Anniversary to you and Martha my friend. You two seem very simpatico and I wish you both many more years together!
  9. Top of the pot spies . GO NELLY GO. Have a great Sunday all!
  10. Good articles. I finally broke back into single digits last summer... after over 35 years. Ultimately, for me, it was getting back to playing regularly, working hard on all aspects of the game. But, most importantly, it was finding the right instructor to get me moving away from the OTT tendency... especially when shooting the long arrows.
  11. All things being equal, launch metrics and manner in which the ball interacts with the ground, the rollout should be really close. That said, my observation is that draws tend to roll out more than fades. I say "observation" because I can't hit a draw off the tee with driver... period .
  12. A Dear Bill, sorry to inform you letter from the Masters, a not even close on @Golfspy_CG2Master's pool... here's hoping for a new trend. Thanks for sharing this!
  13. Congratulations to the winners and thank you Rob for continuing to coordinate these major pool events.
  14. Yes, I fail to see/make the "sinister" connection/question. Like many players at this level, they either learn to master the 8 inches between their ears or remain perpetual chasers. Presently, Scheffler seems to have mastered that part and shot making.
  15. From PGA's anti-LIV front man, pointy end of their spear, to player/part owner... yes, that is quite a turn-around. I stated in the other thread that he was holding out for an offer that had a $B on the end. Perhaps the "part ownership" has the potential to meet that? Does he also get a team? Does this draw the likes of Lowery, Fitzpatrick and others to LIV? The world of professional golf is great theatre these days. While the tour as we've long known it is being dismantled, the ruling bodies are busy making needless ball rollback decisions and elitist stuff shirts like Fred Ridley are doubling down on the disconnect between them and 99% of players who are the future of the sport.
  16. What's really lost in all this needless churn is that it will not change the professional game... where the "problem" resides. This weeks Masters would not look or play out any differently were the neutered ball in play. It certainly will not protect the "at risk courses" or the whatever word salad line of reasoning Whan came up with regarding the games heritage. Breaking News Mike - the game of golf has changed and you need to change with it. My driving average has been 229. A 5-7% loss (using @RickyBobby_PRnumber) would change that to 213-217 yards (let's use 215). That's a 14 yard loss in average driving distance. But the USGA promises only 3 to 5 yards... moving my average to 224-226 yards. Notice the chart graphics show a larger visual spread between the player groups yet the numeric spread for each group is only 2 yards. Anyone else a little dubious? And keep in mind that for we amateurs it could be the difference of having to grab a much longer iron/wood than before whereas the elite players might grab an 8i vs a 9i. This translates into a much more risky, less accurate second shot for the less skilled players. Yup, these guys are most definitely looking out for us .
  17. Me too. Seems to have a great attitude to go along with a superb game. Well, congratulations Scottie!!
  18. Absolutely classy send off comments for Vern Lundquist... betting there isn't a dry eye in the #16 booth. I , like so many on the forum, grew up listening to his voice.
  19. Was that Scottie's cell phone we just heard?
  20. Possibly. This has been very entertaining. I mean a couple of breaks going the other way for Aberg, Homa and/or Morikawa and this could be a tie. And, if Fleetwood makes even half of what seems like a dozen near miss birdies, he could be leading.
  21. Scottie seems to think he's done.... WOW!
  22. Just now noticing the pin location on #13... hadn't seen it from the back of green... NUTS!
  23. Yea, that was a wicked hard bounce as the ball seemed to be hit pretty high. There might also be a slight downslope where he landed?
  24. I love that hole and pin placement. It is such a risk/reward set-up. Clearly Scottie was not going wet and that bailout cost him a stroke.
