Pretty impressive HP and torque specs but I'd need/want at least twice that range or a hybrid for my (current) zip.

This suggests that the correlation of lower (stronger) lofted clubs and lower ball flight is less of an issue on more modern technology? If true, perhaps that's a key aspect many are missing when debating which lofts will work best. I know when I was fitted for the G410's, I asked about the power spec option and the fitter didn't recommend that option - even though I had plenty of peak ball height across the set. Extra distance being something many, particularly us older guys, want, the stronger lofts seem the "quick fix". Nice gap set through the bag btw

Good point. I like all (well most) of them, so anything regional beer would be better than car for these events.

I have no idea. Sometimes when I'm playing out of my mind, I get nervous when tough hazards come into play... thinking I'm going to lose the ball and its mojo . Me too. That may prove more meaningful to his end of career golf memories than getting the 2nd win. Also cool to see the emotion pour out during the post round interview. Many of us forget just how young many of these guys are.

Why does this event sound like a major and why isn't the sponsor Guinness instead of Genesis? The Genesis Scottish Open is our next stop on this long 2022 campaign. I'm still trying to figure out "the field" list - which is a little different than our normal. Min Woo Lee returns as the defending champ in what many consider as the tune-up event for the following weeks 150th Open Championship. I've only seen Min Woo a couple of times and could be way off here, but he strikes me as a player who could start dominating fields sooner than later. To paraphrase my grand nephew... "that dudes gotz serious skillz". Oddly, as much as attending an Open event at St. Andrews would be a thrill, for me, this event would seem just as thrilling. Maybe it's just that I really enjoyed the couple of albeit brief visits I had in Scotland. Plus, I'm guessing the gate fee and beers are WAY cheaper . Don't forget to make your pick for this weeks winner https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF. Good luck!

So I did buy a pair of these and here's the good, the bad, and the ugly. First the good is their styling and excellent traction. They are one of the better looking shoes IMO, the leather uppers appear of better than average quality, and they offer excellent traction. I've worn them in damp and dry conditions and they stick like glue. The bad is that they are the hardest golf shoe to get into I've ever had. Interestingly enough, while performing gymnastics getting them on in the parking lot prior to one of our PNW meet-up rounds, @Thin2winmentioned he had a pair, hated this aspect about them and got rid of them. The neoprene sock/cage concept should come with a shoe-horn. They are a real PITD trying to slip on. That said, once that feat is complete, they feel really good... until they don't. The ugly aspect is that the Puma designers felt the need to put some kind of reinforcement in the heel area (probably knowing it would prematurely wear out from the insane efforts required to slip on ). After a few holes walking, I start to feel that mystery reinforcement and it bites you in the heel. Maybe no issue riding in a cart, but problematic for us walkers. I know Puma is big on these "caged" designs with neoprene sock fit but I think they will be a pass for me in the future simply due to the effort required getting into them. I'm not sure if other similar designs also have whatever reinforcement they use in the heel area but, if so, that would be a no-go as well. I'll try some mole-skin in that spot to get them to the finish line. Bottom-line is that I think Puma missed the mark on these designs and needs to spend some time back in the blackboard (or whiteboard) room refining these shortcomings. Sadly, I can only squeeze out a 1.5 star rating.

Ditto. Besides, we've have found you and hauled you back anyway... escape is futile .

I had a Teriyaki lunch with @gavinski91and @Thin2win during our PNW Meet-up... and now I'm completely up to speed on F1 racing .

Great approach... especially the "bad hit off the clubface" part . I'm WAY better at this part of my game than my early years. Never to the point of club throwing or pummeling terra-firma, but would slow boil inside and let it ruin my round/day. Nowadays I just call myself a dip-stick, idiot, or whatever else pops out of my head, and pretty much forget about it by the next hole... unless it happens on #18 .

Not glove or DSG related but while at the meet-up you mentioned some other skookum deal you found on golf shoes. I'm not naming the brand and please PM me with the details... so that all the 12M's aren't sold out before I have a chance to shop .

Cool chart John! The PE2's surprise me the most. Not that they aren't inherently good enough in design but that a top-level tour pro would play them. Arnie at Royal Birkdale using Wilson Dyna Powered Fluid Feel (which sounds more like a moniker for a transmission )

They saying "horses for courses"... clearly applies to forum members and certain threads. I don't use the ignore function but just limit the amount of ad nauseum back n' forth banter once it's clear any valuable dialogue/debate is off the rails and in the ditch.

Bald-Face Hornets here. I swatted at one last summer while chatting with our UPS driver and a neighbor. The SOB found that little unprotected spot above my baseball cap adjustment band and stung me twice... the second time after I smacked him, hard, while he was delivering his first dose. I had a lump the size of an almond for over a week.

It's the PXG's... most definitely the PXG's. What did I win? -
Happy Birthday Spies (and to those I've missed recently) . In light of the egregious omissions I hereby declare it one free throw and roll, and foot wedge in the bag month... except that @JohnSmallshas to play a hard rock and wear a Notre Dame logo shirt.

I'll take a different track in answer to your question. If gaining distance throughout the bag is a goal, then looking at stronger lofted irons makes sense. Callway Mavrik, Bridgestone HF1, Wilson D7, and others offer strong lofts. Some sets like the G425 offer 2-3 loft spec options. The other options are swing speed training and/or swing and ball striking improvement. For many, matching course length with hitting distances is important. I'm more recently finding that the traditional white tee may or may not be the best match depending on course layout; i.e., forced carries, my driving length into upslopes, etc. You might consider trying a make/model that offers more traditional and power loft specs H2H at the range and see how the ball flight looks. Or, better yet, get fitted and see what performs best... which sometimes just comes down to trade-offs. For those of us who have pretty high peak ball heights, power loft specs might be an acceptable trade but for those who already lack for ball height and optimal descent angle, it may require a new approach to ones game.

Oh for sure, it's largely about the money but I do think the format change is appealing as well. Speaking of Perez, he bagged $750,000 for being part of Team Aces win, and that's in addition to his T29 $153,000. Mrs. Perez is liking the new tour .

Well, I'm giving the event and coverage a solid 8.5/10. It went off way better than I expected it too. The quality of play and battle down the the stretch was very good. I liked the booth and on-course commentators - it felt real and unrehearsed. The quality of the course coverage is the portion that surprised me most. I was expecting this part to be a bit less refined but it was as good as most tour events (Masters aside). Brendan Grace just earned, in 3 days, 20% of his career earnings over a 15 year campaign, and Carlos Ortiz 25% of his total over a 9 year tenure on the PGA Tour. Heck, even Jediah Morgan's last place finish (+21) will be able to pay some bills with his $120,000 check. This is going to capture the attention of lots of players across all the other tours. I suspect a good many sitting on the fence will fall into LIV's pasture. Not so sure how many more top 50 players go, but it would not surprise me that a handful of the middle of the pack take the bait before the Bedminster event. Like it or not, LIV is indeed moving forward and creating a new era in professional golf.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... enjoy the "free ride" while it lasts. If they really want to win fans, keep it free streaming

Well, they are no doubt doing their best to "pump it up" so to speak, and sell the product, but watching some of the pre round interview segments, it does seem like a completely different feel than what we're all use too.
