Am also listening to the Chasing Scratch pod. Started season 3. Did Arccos for a year and the shots gained analytics did confirm don’t over do approach or short game, because was even to my handicap goal, but driver accuracy (as in fewer PK’s) and 3-5 foot putts are my bane of existence. Going to focus my practice

You can’t assess all that as you approach the ball in a cart?
Usually in cart, you aren’t always going straight to your ball, but zigzagging from one to another. Or you have to park a distance from the ball. Can’t tell you how many times near the green I went up thinking I had one type of shot, carrying 3 different clubs, and realized I needed another club that is in the cart.
Lou Stagner just put out a newletter that if you mostly walk, you play better walking and if you mostly ride you play better riding. So YMMV- Dweed, cksurfdude and vandyland

Also my actual preshot starts 10 yards before getting to the ball, I start assessing lie, obstacles, wind. This is why I play better walking than riding, my rhythm is a bit messed up when I ride

I keep an extra ball, two tees, divot repair tool and ball marker in pocket from beginning of the round. Walk up and put my bag down level with your ball. Take my yardage and then pull club. Then step back and start preshot routine

My Jones Trouper twists terribly in my old school SM Speed Cart. Any issue with this?

Congrats all. Looking forward to your results

Best thing. Stick to one ball. And glad they highlighted how good the Maxfli Tour ones are. Still have some finders, but usually to give to my son who is still in spraying mode

I’m playing in a 9 hole club event tomorrow which on the surface would be unremarkable. However, a week ago today was doing long tosses with a football with my grandson. Woke up the next day with an injury around T7 that I haven’t had in several years, where the rib head impinges on the nerve root. The kind where can’t take a deep breath, cough or sneeze, not to mention very restricted movement.
Took my grandson to the driving range on Wed and I took 1 wedge. I took about 5 1/2 swings, and just couldn’t complete a swing. Gradually started feeling better on Friday, so Sat hit about 10 3/4 swing and 5 full with the wedge, 6 full swings each with 8i, 6i, 4h. Made good contact. Then about 10-12 with the driver, which distance was good but erratic dispersion.
Did the same today as yesterday but with a few more with each club. Good overall contact and driver was much better. Also worked on baby pitches around the green with my 58*, then putted. Still have some subtle discomfort but it’s been getting better. Will do another short practice tomorrow morning, rest, lunch, then the event in the afternoon, but feeling pretty good now,
Good luck healing. Maybe it’s your Paul Pierce wheelchair game

Well I finally got a good bond with the MP in Ladies flex and the adapter tip and I gotta say that I really, really like it in the G430 Max. I still think the feel is very similar to the Ventus Blue that I played in my G410 Plus and that's a good thing.
One of the best feeling shafts ever in my opinion.
More importantly however is I hit three of my longest drives of the year yesterday with the MP. I had a 288 on a flat fairway, a 303 on a slightly downhill hole and a 291 on another pretty flat fairway. And there was virtually no wind so that wasn't a factor. I had hit a couple pretty close to those distances earlier with the Pro Launch but they were with a 20- 25 mph tailwind.
Warming up on the range it was pretty evident that I was carrying the ball considerably longer than I had been with the Pro Launch but was really surprised when I actually got out on the golf course.
On a couple of holes that the tee shot lands into an upslope and my average distance is typically in the 225 - 230 range I was 245 and 251.
Most others were pretty consistently in the 260's which ain't bad for a 70 year old has been!
I did have one crazy way right miss on the sixteenth but it was after a couple of beers and I was getting pretty cocky at that point and just really went after one. Found the ball in the way right rough though and it was 257 and couldn't have gotten more than a couple yards of bounce and roll in the tall grass.
Playing again this afternoon and pretty excited about getting back out there with this thing and again the feel is really, really good. Not that the Pro Launch feels bad by any means it's just that the loading and unloading and the sensation at impact with the MP is exactly what I like in a driver shaft.
Also kinda like a Blue Board feel as best I can remember.
Really hoping that this wasn't a one shot wonder!
And it was also well worth having my wife laugh at me for playing an L flex driver shaft........
I went to the lighter/softer Alta CB when I got my G430 because of this thread. Like it, but wish for something more stable when I get quick. How does the MP compare?

With the way prices are going in golf, $90 is a steal. Hope the material holds up well

Will say you have had one of the more unique club odyssey. How do you have time to play golf?

Am wondering if the magic sauce is the swing weight irrespective of the flex? Anyone tried a regular or stiff with D0 swing weight?

Had the G15. Currently have JPX921 HMP that got fit for. The extra offset of the G15 is great if you miss right a lot, but I found I had to hold off release to avoid big left misses so ended up right miss as well. YMMV

While the Supercharged didn’t work for me, I started to think slow in the first transition move and have found much better strike and launch with my own gamer. Just need to fix an open clubface

Can’t wait to hear you smash your personal best. What changed that got you the extra yards? Smash factor, launch or spin?
-
The Supercharged is getting returned. I still replicated my strike pattern (toe side and low on the face). I seem to remember one of the TXG reviews that felt the Autoflex worked best for those who generally find middle of clubface, but needed more launch and ball speed. For those that the O-PH is working for, did you already have generally center strikes?

Ok you guys gonna get me in trouble. I ordered a PLB Supercharged. Thinking the counter balance may help get the swing weight without having to change the back weight.

I bought a TS2 with Kuro Kage 50 g stiff earlier this year to replicate at magical fitting couple years with that driver. Usually a serious low ball hitter, was playing the G400, the True Spec guy put the TS2 with a Fubuki shaft and I was able to apex over the tree line and 20 yards further. I’m wondering if he put a much softer shaft in now. Previous shaft was NVS Orange 65 g stiff. Didn’t look at that shaft closely and it was a free fitting deal, so can’t find the settings. I’m thinking the Prolaunch blue senior flex might be best?

Following this thread and thinking about the Lagshot trainer, wonder if the main benefit of the softer whippy shaft is to force the golfer to sequence better. It would require one to have that “mature backswing” Dr. Kwon talks about

Music on the Golf Course?
in Breaking News and Debate

AirPods have setting to let in surrounding sound. I assume most earbuds that are used for running have similar.
I prefer no music, but play with guys you like it. Our compromise is turn it down at the tee box and enjoy it otherwise through the green. It gets jarring when the song switches while you’re in mid swing and my crap game doesn’t need any more handicaps
