  1. Good morning MGSpies from it might be really springtime in WNY this last Wednesday in March as forecast is missing references to "Buffalo Sunshine" The day yesterday got away from me and I still have 3 pages of this thread to catch up on plus whatever else everyone has been adding to other threads - dentist appointment midday so might just have an opportunity! I will report on my excellent checkup after it happens. With the promise of golf looking favorable, hope golf is a part of your day! 63
  2. Good morning MGSpies from the dark downtown Buffalo parking spot by the office building for my one day a week in-office workday. Tycho's Source and hot coffee making it a great pause before heading in. Going to take the umbrella with me as rain is forecasted like in Robert's @rkj427 neck of the woods and looking forward has no S word again other than sunny so thinking golf again! Hope golf is a part of your day! 64
  3. Good morning MGSpies from a hopefully last frosty morning in WNY for the SPRING season (hear that Spring?) Curling was a great time yesterday with my team that's been put together many times (it is recreational therapy and not a league) seemingly outclassed by the other team for most of the 2 hour game but we were all tied with 8 minutes left in the day and just enough time for the last and 6th end. This time we finished strong as the other team seemed to tire and we took it by 3. Like golf it keeps me thinking I will have to play again! Brilliant sunny day that finally broke above freezing which always makes spirits happier. Hope golf is a part of your day! 65
  4. Good morning MGSpies from still frosty cold WNY with a few inches of snow on the ground from two days ago still preserved with this morning's 18F clear sky chill. Checking calendar, yep it is springtime. Started working on getting ready for golf season with shoveling 4 inches of heavy snow off the driveway and sidewalks yesterday and extended the workout doing the neighbors sidewalks too! ooh feel the burn, sorta, Love seeing the getaway @berkeleybob with forumeque review Yesterday's forum catchup was extensive, gotta try to keep up LOL Curling with Veterans at noon and only a few weeks left until the club takes a break for summer (just think of it!) Hope golf is a part of your day! 66
  5. Good morning/afternoon MGSpies (it was morning when I started reading what I missed since Thursday) from a returned to Winter WNY like members from Michigan and Ontario, and to east of here, we have about 5 inches that is not yet ready to melt with temps still below freezing on this late March weekend and first weekend of Spring! (Hear that Spring, it is your turn!!!) Trying to get traction again on feeling life is going forward - lots of good things happening and changes are in progress for both kids, and like when all things don't go according to expectations, there are those who do not do well with the change and there are those who have to live with them. Just going to leave that vague. Best intentions for everyone also dealing with life's obstacles, for those who've moved on from this world and loved ones with medical and emotional challenges. I won't mention people by name to help with the healing process and for the possibility of missing someone as all are equally appreciated in my mind. Hope golf is a part of your day 67
  6. Good morning MGSpies on a frozen WNY morning beginning of Spring for this Community Call day with excellent news from this Thread's creator and Chief Bottle Washer @GolfSpy_APH who we all know that NOBODY does it better, and they do keep trying! (we do have the best MODs anywhere No letup to winter this week, inches of snow forecasted for Friday and this morning's regional radar showing our members in Syracuse area like @MattWillGolf are in the snowbelt from Lake Ontario lake effect. Coffee is helping the day along with the space heater in home central command outpost for the zero commute workday, hope to see many MGSpies on the screen and in the headphones/speakers this afternoon, and hope golf is a part of your day! 69
  7. Good morning MGSpies on this week's Community Call Eve with frozen windshields, driveways, and all things outdoors this first full day of Spring in WNY. Like Robert @rkj427 and the rest in MI and the Northeast, we had record highs in the last 2 weeks and winter weather is back like a guest returning for something left behind. Already up on the network on this zero commute day and quick break to scrape wife's vehicle so she could be off to work, and you know, writing here. Counting down the days until summer weather will definitely be here and hope golf is a part of your day! 70
  8. Good morning MGSpies from the wintery dark downtown parking spot this morning with flurries in the headlights in WNY Ulrich Schnauss' Here Today Gone Tomorrow on Pandora making a dark imploringly urgent ambiance while coffee mellows it for a perfect pre-work break before the office workday begins. Thoughts already on the warmup next week. Wrap around day, last week's trip started only a week ago and was a trip that seemed a week long but was only 4 days 5 hours. Won't be any outside here today but hope golf is a part of your day 71
  9. Good morning MGSpies from a cold breezy WNY on this first day back after a short, long distance, but activity packed road trip with my son who did all the driving. Work computer already on the network and working the backlog coffee helping and about ready for the second mug. Hope golf is a part of your day 72
  10. Date 03/13/2024 Course Name Stryker Golf Course Gross Score 99 Course Handicap 12 Gross Strokes over/under par 27 Net Score to Par 15 Net Score 87 Net Birdies or better 0 Longest Drive 0 SIM Round? Played Stryker GC in Fayetteville NC on Wednesday. Finally home and able to put this post in. I will need help to get this all in right. Longest drive - 220 yards. Net birdies - 2 Walking with push cart, lots of water and temps higher than I have played in since the previous summer. Not bad for first round since December 23, 2023 which amazingly was on the same course this time 5 shots lower than the Dec round
  11. Glad to know MyGolfSpouse is not more injured. Could not help laughing at the rest of the comments, too much like Mr Pither's Cycling Tour (after 7:00 in this clip)
  12. Does anyone else "love" Chromebook as much as I do?
  13. Good morning MGSpies from a chilly but only mostly overcast WNY on this St Patrick's Day Sunday, home from the 4 day 5 hour Spring Break trip to NC, SC, GA and back. Son did all the driving in his own vehicle putting 2667 miles on with 825 of them yesterday in our 14 hour trip back to pseudo spring/winter (snow back in the forecast for this week ) but the sun is currently shining! Golf on Wednesday in Fayetteville sunshine and on Friday under Augusta cloudy showers, and Thursday was an enjoyable walk at Cowpens National Battlefield under sunny Chesney skies. In our true family version, the tour was a blend of historic facts, tactical analysis of terrain and military forces, and application of current technology for a fictional and humorous account of what "really happened" sure to entertain those who enjoy Monty Python and the Holy Grail (as our story and that of the visitor center are widely divergent) Son is heading back to RIT today for the last 6 weeks of his semester and college academic requirements for graduation. Curling for me with the Veterans Hope golf is a part of your day! 73
  14. Good morning MGSpies from Augusta GA before sunrise on this Saturday last day of the Spring Break road trip with just over 825 miles to get home. Yesterday was golf at Eisenhower Lakes golf course on Fort Eisenhower since my bid to play the Masters was thwarted last season after my first round. Hope golf is a part of your day 74
  15. Good morning MGSpies from still dark but not for long Chesney SC for this WNYer starting the second half of my son's Spring Break road trip. Golf was not part of yesterday but a good visit to Cowpens National Battlefield was which was determined to be a pivotal success for the Colonial Army in 1781 including a first time since 281 BC that a "double envelopment" effectively culminated the British regulars into surrender, Hannibal had done it first to the Romans. Hope golf is a part of your day when we all manage a double envelopment of the ball into the last cup of the round 75
  16. Missed the call and golf was not the culprit, but touring Cowpens National Battlefield was and spending the day with family. Hope everyone had a great time for me! Next week should be back on as "usual."
  17. Good morning MGSpies from a cool but soon to be hot for this northern unacclimatized WNYer in NC, heading to SC for the day on destination 2 of this Spring Break road trip with my son. Yesterday had a "first round of the season" experience at Stryker GC at Fort Liberty in Fayetteville NC under beautiful Carolina blue skies that was only just under triple digits, not sure how that is going to work for us Josh @Josh Parker but hoping golf is again on the day's agenda in northern SC, and hope golf is a part of your day too! 76
  18. Good evening MGSpies and it's been a long while since I posted here because of being between seasons. However today was a good day to find out exactly how out of condition I have become to the golf game of the regular season. That said playing Stryker Golf course at Fort Liberty in Fayetteville NC, was able to turn in a just under triple digits 99 with a 49 and 50 and longest drive of 220 yards. Will get to post it on the virtual tournament but tomorrow comes early after a long day and short night. More later Spies and hope golf is a part of your day tomorrow!
  19. Good morning MGSpies from somewhere in northern NC on the first leg of the Spring Break road trip with Holiday Roads cranking on the play list. Should be playing golf in Fayetteville later. Hope golf is a part of your day too 77
  20. Good morning MGSpies from a dark downtown parking spot by the office with hot coffee and Phaeleh's The Mist on Pandora for my usual break before the workday begins. Travel south begins this afternoon going with my son on his last college Spring Break trip to see his uncle and cousins with golf, what more could be reasonably asked for? Come on good weather!!! Tycho's Cypress continues the vibes this awesome Tuesday with sincere hopes golf is a part of your day 78
  21. I know the tugs of sentiments, that is a tough one but like Chuck says... Mom is the only one to be trusted with holding your beer.
  22. Good morning MGSpies on a crispy white over hopefully last gasp of winter (but probably no where near as much snow as @MattWillGolf and other Spies midstate way) here in WNY already plying the network flow beginning the zero commute day of this workweek, coffee hitting the spot and mind full of the second half of the week road trip with son to the Carolinas for his last Spring Break before full-time college becomes a thing of his past that will include golf and visits with brother and nephews so mind running in many directions today as tomorrow is an office workday, then leaving for points south after work - it all has to be ready to go before bedtime tonight hopefully not going to join the sleeping issues crew hope golf is a part of your day 79
  23. Should you be open to suggestions, I'm sure there are some hereabouts. This is in italics as it is understood with great assurance that the highnessnesseses cannot read italics. The employment of insidious acts of oppositional defiance that be a humorous if not painful diversion should seditious acts be discovered and retributions exacted in similarly obscure and outrageous ways. Such things as moving the furniture half an inch to the east, for anything placed on a rug, the rug also moved an inch hides the pressure dimple for no evidence. Turning the cutlery around in the drawer or reversing the order of what goes where. Turning around the toilet paper rolls on their holders so the paper spills off the "wrong" way. Turning around things is always a hoot because who does that right? Turning the carpets 180 degrees so the pattern is opposite but otherwise is not out of place. But of course I didn't suggest anything at all
  24. Good morning MGSpies on a snowy WNY Sunday, get ready for road trip this week, day. Good to see spring is coming our way and just put the clocks ahead so good afternoon everyone, not staying spring very well around these parts like my fellow Spies in the Northeast and Northwest US. The counter keeps going so end of May will be here sooner than later. Hope golf is a part of your day 80
