  1. Good morning MGSpies on a crispy white over hopefully last gasp of winter (but probably no where near as much snow as @MattWillGolf and other Spies midstate way) here in WNY already plying the network flow beginning the zero commute day of this workweek, coffee hitting the spot and mind full of the second half of the week road trip with son to the Carolinas for his last Spring Break before full-time college becomes a thing of his past that will include golf and visits with brother and nephews so mind running in many directions today as tomorrow is an office workday, then leaving for points south after work - it all has to be ready to go before bedtime tonight hopefully not going to join the sleeping issues crew hope golf is a part of your day 79
  2. Should you be open to suggestions, I'm sure there are some hereabouts. This is in italics as it is understood with great assurance that the highnessnesseses cannot read italics. The employment of insidious acts of oppositional defiance that be a humorous if not painful diversion should seditious acts be discovered and retributions exacted in similarly obscure and outrageous ways. Such things as moving the furniture half an inch to the east, for anything placed on a rug, the rug also moved an inch hides the pressure dimple for no evidence. Turning the cutlery around in the drawer or reversing the order of what goes where. Turning around the toilet paper rolls on their holders so the paper spills off the "wrong" way. Turning around things is always a hoot because who does that right? Turning the carpets 180 degrees so the pattern is opposite but otherwise is not out of place. But of course I didn't suggest anything at all
  3. Good morning MGSpies on a snowy WNY Sunday, get ready for road trip this week, day. Good to see spring is coming our way and just put the clocks ahead so good afternoon everyone, not staying spring very well around these parts like my fellow Spies in the Northeast and Northwest US. The counter keeps going so end of May will be here sooner than later. Hope golf is a part of your day 80
  4. Good morning MGSpies on a more seasonable cold wet Saturday with plans to go with MyGolfSpouse across the bridge to do some grocery shopping up @Cfhandyman's way for things that don't make it to our stores. Might swing by Golf Stuff in Welland for a browse of their used clubs selection as it is where I found the Lovett wedge that works so well for me out of sand. HOPE session went well last evening and already halfway through the 6 sessions already, funny how fast time passes. Hope golf is a part of your day! 81
  5. Good morning MGSpies on a not really dark WNY Friday with light already in the sky arriving in the kitchen at 6am to make the coffee for the workday Network buzzing with Timecard Friday as we call it when payroll is processed, already into the thick of the action. Had a great experience on the Community Call yesterday and learned to NEVER regroove a clubface warmed up by a national online finance webinar that also needed good interjections of EP brand humor to make it better. Session 3 of 6 for PGA HOPE at Rush NY is this evening and should have more light in the sky noticeably for its successive weeks through March. Rain is the watchword for the weekend here. Hope golf is a part of your day 82
  6. Conversation in the PM thread is about the views of RNK and the blind tee shots to fairway. Comments made have included a challenge of using a sleeve of balls to start and see how far they last, winner being the one who's sleeve lasts the longest. I'm one of the short tee box guys and I know the tendency to try to "hit it hard" to clear the natural hazards and find short grass will be something I will be working to win the mind game involved. That said I have no doubt my sleeve of balls will only last any length of time if I don't crumple it as it's contents will again succumb to the encouragements of our fellow Forum member @Yellow Ball I am bringing my spares bag, the one full of saved and rescued balls found along the way in past rounds. Just last week I had to swerve on the road to avoid a sudden hazard that caused my IGBRC "experienced" balls carry bag to roll over on the backseat floor. I frequently count things as something my mother always did, and I counted the balls as I put 118 balls back into the bag. That number should be able to get through RNK before it's depleted 82
  7. Awesome call again, great job with bringing in the talent Jamie and crew! Thanks for another great Community Call!
  8. Good morning MGSpies on this dark damp cold WNY Community Call day (formerly called Thursday) with a zero commute beginning of the workday with network getting sorted out while making this post Just getting on best as possible and keeping an eye to better days ahead and keeping primary facts in place. Extra time with work today as an online seminar runs up to Community call time from experience might end a little early which would be perfect to be in good time for today's agenda! Hope golf is a part of your day 83
  9. As everyone knows, this is such a multiple choice thing that the answer is of course "C" so, not going to cause any kind of rift in the time/space continuum or tempt the 1st Law of Frisbee (never precede anything with "watch this"). Just saying We have been without snow now for as long as we were buried under it and watching it melt away and the Super El Nino has given us record warm temperatures in recent days. Locally a couple golf courses have already started their 2024 season but not my course(s) yet as the munis are not as flexible with urban planning as it is. Fear not partner Josh @Josh Parker as next week is Spring Break for my son and we have a road trip south planned with more than one day of golf in the plan. That and newly appreciated instruction that worked amazingly well on a simulator last week that will be again proven this Friday under the watchful eye and phone app video review of a trusted PGA Teaching Pro and HOPE facilitator to ensure it is working, I will be taking that on course with me to see if all my shots find the short grass as well as they were in my last posted round in December 2023 in my last outdoor 18 hole round in NC. This is ON! popcorn for the spectators
  10. Good morning MGSpies from wet chilly late winter in WNY that looks more like Springtime on this Community Call Eve, or Wednesday as it used to be called work computer going onto the network for a zero commute workday and this is the weird time of the year when I dress in layers in the basement to stay warm huddled by a space heater and then go upstairs to the much warmer - gotta strip off to t-shirt and shorts because it's too hot - pre-summer conditions with house temperature above thermostat. Might not be there today or tomorrow with highs more seasonal for early spring. Hope golf is a part of your day! 84
  11. Halfway through the 80's today! 85 and counting beep beep
  12. Good morning MGSpies from a dark but unseasonably warm downtown Buffalo parking spot by the office building with Emancipator's Lionheart on Pandora and coffee to begin with workday in the office on the best footing with a feeling like I'm forgetting what's going on later, thinking how since I always have my golf equipment in the vehicle might swing by somewhere to practice the swing technique learned and practiced at last Fridays HOPE session that fixed my tendency to curve the shots right. Thankful for the Forum and everyone who participates with contributions and especially the mods who preserve the nature of this rare and life giving community. I'm constantly amazed by everything that happens. Congratulations to @GolfSpy MPR on a beautiful addition to MGS Family Hope golf is a part of your day 85
  13. Good morning MGSpies from a cold sunny start this Monday in WNY where watching MyGolfSpouse leaving the driveway noticed tire tracks on an otherwise dry concrete surface, heavy dew was as much on tires as it was on glass and paint. Son's project car job went well replacement of the bell housing end of the hydraulic clutch actuator cylinder that needed the dad touch for tips and tricks for using the little features built into the design to make jobs easier. Warmer day here that has potential for record high, @ParFore74x leading the way yesterday and Robert @rkj427 and those in our region joining in today. After my January snow my thoughts are on the Sierras and the super heavy snows out there. Hang in there everyone, it will be a distant memory sooner than later. Hope golf is a part of your day 86
  14. Good morning MGSpies from foggy WNY this early Sunday, not too early but timing had to match when son will be up to do a hydraulic clutch job on his MG, so dad is the morale support and pedal pusher for the bleeding to get air out once it is reassembled guy. Will have to see what Robert's @rkj427cars look like when I get the opportunity, probably on my phone doing my dad job. Will see what the rest of the day entails. Hope golf is a part of your day! 87
  15. Good morning MGSpies from a cloudy damp WNY on this first Saturday of March. Taking a while to get this out so might be afternoon before I finish as the quiet morning is not quiet any longer. Had a good HOPE session yesterday with the Veterans, good meetup with son for pizza and tool drop for a job he is working on his project car and home before 10pm. Plans today changed because of weather, so not heading to help with the project car postponed for rain due to working outdoors on it. Hope golf is a part of your day 88
  16. I got in 5 holes and I figure that's a box of balls to that point. Gonna need to bring my big bag of balls
  17. Good morning MGSpies from a still below freezing WNY on this first day of March and first Friday of the month work computer is getting onto the network for a no commute workday that is bookended by The Good Morning Thread here and PGA HOPE session 2 of 6 this evening after a drive that has a stop at the National Cemetery about the midway point for a stop to give thanks for service with Ghost Coins really enjoyed leaning about Ghost Golf on the community call yesterday which uses the same term for spirit (watch the video). Now to go get the coffee dispensed Hope golf is a part of your day! 89
  18. Mine would be a mallet design that looks like a spaceship! Would look good looking down on the putt and with it upside down in the bag without a head cover. Might even have lights and a laser that just happens to line up with the alignment line.
  19. Awesome community call and not the biggest but possibly the longest at over 90 minutes. Great guest and the explanations for Ghost Golf name and philosophy really should be emphasized as that makes a huge difference in the appreciation for the brand. And Matt, you could just draw on a beard, you are an actor
  20. Good morning MGSpies from snowy again WNY which should not be unusual as the 50s and 60s possibly 70 will be before the next Community Call day arrives and it is Community Call day that some people refer to as Thursday, going to miss Jason on with us and know we will all be sending positive energy his way that has its own healing properties but first it is workday with the network coming online from basement central on the no commute routine, coffee soon to make its debut as well. With golf a sooner than later prospect in this neck of the woods, hope golf is a part of your day! 90 Last night at bedtime
  21. After an early high in the mid 50⁰s this evening we had the white stuff back again. 50⁰s again this weekend and 60⁰s next week, crazy for the last 3 weeks of winter in Buffalo. The corgis like it
  22. Good morning MGSpies from a was it a flicker of light that could be possible retina damage in the darkness after the alarmclock, no it was distant lightning with thunderstorm and then torrential rain dumping on us as it rolled over us early this WNY Wednesday community call eve. Work network sorting itself out while thunder still rumbles outside to the east, glad to see people getting out with this unusual springlike last month of winter in these United States and locally the WNY PGA HQ course Glen Oak announced they open for the season March 1st, so just checking to see this is still Buffalo computer is up so back to watching the forum, hope golf is a part of your day 91
