  1. Good morning MGSpies from frosty cold still dark but rolled the garbage out already WNY and there will be scraping windows to get wife on her way but not those working in basement central with computer going online for a zero commute workday (that would be me) coffee already warming the space faster than the space heater middle of the week and just leaning forward to the end of the week. Jason @sirchunksalot keep a small thermos by the coffee pot and make twice as much as that is what works for me Hope golf is a part of your day! 113
  2. This was brilliant. I almost made a comment about not learning to read right to left. Then this and I put 2 and 2 together and got 17. BAM! VICTORY And great handle Jason! @GolfSpy_KFT
  3. Good morning MGSpies from a dark frosty downtown Buffalo parking spot by the office building on this early Tuesday in February coffee in the mug and Phaeleh's Mist on Pandora setting the mood and thankful for no ice fog of yesterday to go with that title. Love reading the thread about what's going on with my fellow MGSpies and there's so much reading with all the extra posts in response though the discussion would be better moved to an appropriate thread for the topic. Keeping up with life and family, job, plans, yesterday's adventures though, just love the community here! Hope golf is a part of your day 114
  4. You weren't kidding about being the warning to others for what not to do LOL (I'm taking notes though it is very entertaining )
  5. Keep the stories coming Dads no matter the ages of the "children." They don't stay young as long as we wish they would. My little girl is 25 and is always a bright and intelligent gift of God. My little boy is 23 and just as bright and intelligent in a completely different way. They really don't get better, as if they need to, just what is appropriate for their age changes. The gift for us is being chosen to parent and be the responsible guide and facilitator, all the while throwing them up in the air (sometimes literally) knowing positively we will catch them to let their Spirits soar. My son was always a Hot Wheels guy even before he was done with Thomas The Tank Engine trains and his collection is big without all the chipped paint mine had. Now he has moved on to an MG Midget that by this summer should be ready to use as a touring car as he has replaced the brake system, is redoing the cooling system, and updating the wiring, lighting and interior - all while finishing his Mechanical Engineering degree.
  6. Good morning MGSpies on a frozen clear sky Monday in WNY with a really nice forecast for February this week - teaser as there are no outdoor golf anythings open because of the usual winter conditions that may return next week hot coffee already making the morning better and computer already on the network so here we go! Like Grogu I am in a Fitness program except it will happen at lunchtime when I will be fitness and fitnat in my mouth Hope golf is a part of your day! 115

  11. More tags to keep track of! Love the idea of keeping the private tag private and having a mod tag created with some meaning to the leaders and being miliary I know how some of those tags are attributed hahaha @GolfSpy AFG is so fitting for you Hayes! Also Mark with @GolfSpy_SHARK Jason yours is going to take time @GolfSpy_KFT Thank you all for stepping up to help continue the Forum as the place we love and hard to believe it could be better but it seems to be just about every day! There is definitely something going on with what appears to be a dreamteam of obsessed golfers that I am glad to benefit from the association With gratefulness and respect always
  12. Superdad status. Love everything about this post not because of the troubles for the little ones, that is inevitable and always feel for them. Love it because of the memories and thankfulness I have always had for being called to be a father and more importantly a dad, made Superdad by turning my dedication to being of service to others to my children, and whenever possible overnight to my wife because hers was the daytime care without a doubt but my time was the night time. I never thought twice about waking to be instantly and constantly on until the crisis had passed, walking with babies high on the shoulder working out bubbles from feeding or stroking little backs to calm and bring security and peace, usually also sleep to the ones who needed it most. Love hearing about my fellow Superdads Too true @OdinSnipes414 they grow much too fast so the memories must be made as soon as possible to remain forever. It all passes much too quickly. Love being in the company of my fellow Superdads edit: humility won't let this go unsaid: I don't remember who called me a Superdad, it was not my invention. The conversation is a lost memory as it was not important but I was assured not every man is the man he should be for his children and it takes a special kind of man to be a Superdad who is there just as much for his wife too.
  13. Good morning MGSpies on a frosty clear view of the Moon early Sunday here in WNY up early to help with scraping frost from daughter's vehicle glass as I saw her off to work as I do whenever someone is leaving the house and feed the corgis since I'm up and MyGolfSpouse can continue sleeping unhindered by the yapping one. Today features a courier trip for late breakfast with son in Rochester - can't say enough about seeing the sun yesterday after more than 10 days of 100% cloud cover and a sunny drive will also be nice today. Sending my intentions for health, happiness and for golf to be a part of your day! 116
  14. Why should I be a Tester, let me count the ways! Being a Tester, the easy part, is having a photo and posting regularly in the Forum. Preparing to be a Tester, thinking about how to test the subject of a test offering before tapping the Sign Up button. If the answer to how to do it is that it would not be something I would want to spend weeks with (before the how to, during the doing, and after the write-up and submission) then the best choice is to wait for the next test announcement and do the same thing. Only sign up for the ones that get me excited with the idea of doing the whole task. And I do. I am a storyteller, I create stories in my mind (like writing this post) beginning with a beginning, adding informative information that takes the reader on a journey through the testing time, or say the body of this post. Then the sometimes surprising conclusion of the testing with analysis and final results. Like my golf game, the ending is usually a surprise for me just like my round score. I have been selected for 5 tests, performed 5 tests, and published 5 tests. They were for the BirdieBall PuttUp mat, the Decathlon Inesis Waterproof Spikeless Shoes (that they have now discontinued along with all their golf products), the L.A.B. DF2.1 putter, the Red Rooster Sussex Golf Glove, and the Lean Lock Putter. Links are in my Signature below. This year I am going to be saving my "pick me" for golf clubs. I have been using well experienced clubs my entire golf life (of 14 years already!) from individual picks that were tried and only those that were working for me kept, and one complete set of irons that have a hybrid design. I am interested to know how my improved golf techniques of swing and ball striking translates to a latest design club. Not sure if it is muscle back or cavity back that would be better for my slower swing but I do know they will have to be graphite shafts because the steel shafts just won't do. Being a Tester is a lot of work, both off and on the course, working sometimes to get a photo or video for content, sometimes making a special trip to somewhere or setting up a situation to test/highlight/challenge the product for a thorough assessment. And definitely in the organizing, creating, editing, and posting the final review. In my experience, the effort put into the test is evident in the results of the review at the conclusion ON TIME and MEETING the EXPECTATIONS of fellow Forum members (, the slave driver mods ) and the public we serve to candidly reveal what we have determined as our best evaluation for what we have been trusted with as a member of and representative of the MGS Forum. As a storyteller, I do tend to go long with my stories but when the story to tell is good, it is a shame to end it before it naturally ends. There will never be a, "and they lived happily ever after" sent to be published from my hand (so keep an eye out for imposters using my username). There is always an epilog as I will leave you with a question; does the testing ever really end? Golf and storytelling. It's what I do
  15. Good morning MGSpies from a drier still cold but not snowy WNY on this Saturday in February second coffee is done and looking forward to what the weekend will provide in the time available. Yesterday after work went to the Western NY National Cemetery meeting Veteran friends to visit grave markers and thank those who passed on before us for their service - using ghost coins placed on the headstone during the moment spent with their spirit - coins flipped over for each next marker and predecessor - coins kept to pass to any Veteran met who is having a hard time, to pass on with the spirits that have touched and become part of the coin to symbolize the Veteran struggling is not alone. We shared stories of how such acts have changed a Veterans life, my Veteran friends also work for Veterans as do I. We might actually see the sun this weekend and it's trying to break through clouds already! Hope golf is a part of your day 117
  16. First of all, thank you for choosing to join the Forum and making your first post! And a good one too I would say What is missing in your bag that might be called my 14th club is a trouble club, something that specializes in hitting out of the rough to get the ball back into play. Mine is a Ginty I found in a discount club bin designed and made by Stan Thompson who observed boats heading for Catalina Island noting how they sliced through waves with the v-shape of their hull and reasoned a golf club similarly designed would do the same thing with the grass in the rough. It is a 29 degree lofted club with a 4 wood length shaft and weighting low to get clubhead on the ball and minimize interference with the clubhead by the grass. Perhaps a good chipper or some other club hat helps with the short game but you already have such a robust short game stable of clubs. Enjoy the adventure of finding what you need. And welcome in!
  17. Good morning MGSpies from damp cold WNY on this first Friday of February where each day is one less before golf season starts up again in these parts work computer just connected to network and coffee ready to go so the day has begun community call was fabulous with as many as 27 of us on at one point I saw, could be a new high attendance, great that Chris @cnosil was with us and so many others joining in at times, it really is a favorite part of my week. Looking forward to what unfolds today and hope golf is a part of your day edit: Forgot to mention Jamie @GolfSpy_APH did an awesome job with the Forum Badges, don't they look awesome now?! 118
  18. It was a great Community Call today that had some substantial conversation that was about this coming Meet Up at Kingsmill with references to previous meet ups at Queenstown Harbor and Pinehurst. In particular it had to do with the prowess of some of our members calves. Here is a convenient link to jump to the Community Call thread and something about the conversation that did go on a bit today!
  19. To catch everyone up who was NOT at Queenstown Harbor Meet Up #1 or Pinehurst Meet Up #2... it became apparent on the first day of golf at Queenstown Harbor that some of our members have substantially well developed calf muscles. It was but one of the enjoyable attributes that surfaced to draw a great deal of attention, humor in good measure, and probably more exaggerated than it would have been if at least one member of the fairer gender was present to provide a single iota of civility to the weekend. As it was, civility was hiding somewhere in the salt marshes or went with @Yellow Ball to the depths of the water hazards and we had a truly Sophomoric and jovial time that has us all looking forward to next time, and the time after that no matter where it happens to be. This (of course) is all "here say" and may or may not be true. Only way to find out is... ...see you there!!!
  20. Another awesome meeting! Great to see everyone
  21. Good morning MGSpies from El Niño warming WNY on this Community Call Thursday the FIRST day of February, coming to you from the basement command central on a zero commute start of the workday with systems going online coffee soon to join the initial slog into making things work well for those who serve Veterans. Snow is getting to be absent in parts of the yard and the corgis are finding it to bring inside on paws, hope your furry friends are just as happy to bring the outside in thinking of Chris this morning @cnosil and know how difficult it can be to use a smartphone where he is after spending days in December with brother in similar setting hope to see/hear many of you on the call at 4pm EST today and hope golf is a part of your day 119
  22. Good morning MGSpies from the dark cold but not snowy like in Robert's @rkj427 neck of the woods (congrats on your submitting retirement notice!) of WNY on this Wednesday I have come to think of as Community Call Eve work computer sorting its network connection out while I catch up on a page or two of the thread, hot coffee will soon be down here in the subterranean bunker um basement to get this day rolling. Still catching up on social media posts from last week's PGA Show, just amazing things packed into one week, thinking about that and hoping your day has golf in it 120
