I’d love to hear some thoughts here if anyone has any. I’m currently thinking about putting new shafts in my irons. When I bought them about a year and a half ago I was a 20+ handicap and since then my swing speed has greatly increased and I’m down to a 8.3.

I currently have the Elevate 95 stiff shafts in my irons 5-GW and they were GREAT when I got fit for them but now I fight a high sweeping draw and find myself feeling like I need to focus on slowing my transition to prevent that. My wedges I bought more recently and was fitted to a heavier shaft in the True Temper S400 stiff shafts and I have a lot more confidence in that feel and I know I can really go at the ball and not risk “losing the head”. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on shafts to try in my irons that is between the 98g of the Elavate 95s and the 132g weight of the S400?

Dynamic gold 120 and project x lz are both good options

I'd try both of those, and throw Modus 120 into the mix too.  Between the three you'll find a feel you prefer and can go from there!

I suppose I'm a traditionalist by nature. I've always had an affinity for older style golf shoes. Maybe it's because my first pair were FJ traditional? Don't get me wrong, I definitely like the "running shoe" style shoes as well but there's always been a soft spot for the saddle style.

Have a trip coming up and saw these returns on Amazon for 60 so I decided I needed to see if they were meant for me...

I've only ever had club fittings not putter fittings, very good idea, maybe I should do that as my putting isn't great & that could be the reason why...great post thank you

I would absolutely recommend a good putter fitting!  It can make such a difference for your consistency, which is going to lead to better putting on the greens just from getting something you start consistently on your aim line and matches your stroke to produce consistency roll and distance.

    My Fitting Experience

I’ve never had a putter fitting and have been wanting one for some time now. Edel touts its fitting process as a differentiator in the market (97% of golfers can’t line up their putts), so I was really excited to go get fit for my Array.

Based on @Parshooter36 and @Woodrow72’s posts, I think my fit could have been a bit better.

Rolled into Golftec, and the fitter was really laid back. He was okay with me taking pics and filming the entire thing. First, he showed me the kit and model putters:

We went through a preliminary process of making a profile of my game, height, and putting stance for alignment. I learned that I stood slightly too far from the ball, which he said is common. Then, we went through the Edel fitting, which took a while. Here is a shortened video of the entire process:

Briefly: my alignment with my gamer was pretty good, and I learned that I have an arcing stroke and tend to slightly close the putter face. Also figured out that the ideal weight for me is around 360 grams.

I think the fitting could have been better for a few reasons. One is that we did all but one of the tests only with the F-1, which is very similar to my gamer. When it came to the blast motion test (face control), we tested three of the four, and the B-1 gave me the best numbers. I wish we had tested the B-1 on the laser and weight tests. Yes, I should have asked to do it, but I think a thorough fitter would have tested those anyway.

The fitter recommended the F-1. I ended up selecting the B-1 for three reasons: 1) I like the visual standing over the ball with it better, 2) with my tendency to close the face, I like that it has some toe hang instead of face balanced, and 3) it gave me the best numbers on face control.

I confirmed that I would not receive a report with my data, but because I had recorded the whole video, I had most of it available.

I’m interested to hear what you all think about the quality of the fitting. Even if it could have been better, I really enjoyed the process, and now am excitedly awaiting the arrival of my B-1.

Seems like you had a good experience!  You probably would have needed to reinforce you wanted a different look, especially since your alignment was spot on.  Sounds like it was comprehensive from the stand point of locking down the putter, it's just that you ended up not needing to try a bunch of the different shapes.

My favorite thing coming out of fittings is always the knowledge I've gained about my own swing and stroke.  I find it helps me have a better idea of if something may or may not work for me.  Of course, I also like to try lots of different clubs anyway.  I'm just curious like that!

I still want to find these somewhere I can give them a roll!

    Vulnerable time...

Has anyone had their full swing/approach play completely fall apart with Stack? I am carrying a bit of a shoulder tweak, so stopped Stack, but in the last ~7 rounds my approach play has been absolutely all over the map. This is usually a strength of my game, but I feel completely out of rhythm and have been playing a lot of military golf (right, left, right).

I'm honestly at a bit of a loss... Everything had been going great, and now i feel like I've really regressed. Ironically my putting and short game have been great (sigh).

Without playing too much arm chair swing coach, is it possible your playing golf in "stack training mode" versus "play golf" mode?

I ask because I can totally see accuracy falling off a bit if you're brain is stuck in "swing it fast" thoughts versus "get the ball in the hole" thoughts.
