Oh I’m quite sure it’d be a blast getting a round in with you, ripe with congrats on good shots and plenty of smack talk to keep it light and fun. It’d just be the Sox hat that would keep me understanding the world is not all sunshine and rainbows haha.

When a man offers to bring the Sam there is only one appropriate response.

    You’re in.

    Don't believe him, he's a filthy liar!

    He will likely bring these:

First of all, that's a great photograph! I love how the Ping bag looks on the cart. How are you liking it so far?

thanks!  It was a beautiful day out there!  I love the PING bag.  The Traverse really is a perfect compliment to a push cart.  The top is basically flat and leaves plenty of ways you can set your clubs up.  I have mine set up in a woode-esque fashion with the woods down the left.  I like that for the push cart.  On days I know I'll be riding I might move things around to a more traditional cart bag setup.  It's been super stable at home and at the range standing up, so I don't miss the stand legs at all.  Plenty of storage too.  It's sized just right for me.

Anyone else think it’d be amazing to play a round of golf with @xOldBenKenobiXand @sirchunksalot? I feel like everything they post is super positive and supportive. I bet I could play the worst round of my life and walk away feeling like I won the masters. Serious positive vibes coming from those two. I’d probably need @B.Bostonto be the fourth wearing a Red Sox hat to balance out my Qi and keep me grounded in frustrating reality for the day.

I'm think I'm actually quite fun to golf with... unless your name is @Lacassem so I get that you guys don't see the positive side of me often. 😂  Lucky for you, I typically rock my Cobra hat!  My old sox hat is a fitted one and I don't really wear it anymore.

I have to agree though, @xOldBenKenobiX and @sirchunksalot seem like some great guys to be paired up with.  But if you need me to help level you out and play the role of Wicked Pissah Awsome Boston Golf Guy with a cousin's sistah's friend's brother's aunt who once babysat for Tom Brady's kids.... I'm your guy.

  4. Like @Lacassem I got a push cart during COVID least year. I like to walk when allowed, even when it’s hilly. It’s just such a nice round when you can walk to your shot.

we both have the CaddyTec CaddyLite Ez v8. Got them on Amazon. Worth every penny!

I’m (only) 33 and use one. It’s perfectly acceptable. It’s not like you’re using iron covers after all. 😉

  5. Prices have gotten crazy. I sell a fair amount on eBay and have basically just started not using free shipping, which sucks because everyone likes to see that. Too much variability between locations and carriers.

I make sure to have them scan it in at the store so I have proof of the weight in a receipt if needed.

More planemate. Focusing on takeaway. While I have improved I was noticing issues right at take away yesterday starting to far inside (less break of wrists though which is good), which in turn effected the rest of my swing. Happy with progress but not happy with progress.....Real conundrum

Like @Lacassem, I am working on takeaway as I have noticed I am coming too far inside. Plus, my left miss has been horrible lately so I am also trying to get a better feel of my hand path starting out down instead of going out. So I took my GoPro out to record video and it is amazing how there's such a difference between feel and real. Screenshot_20210503-190159_Rush.jpg.3469d77a358138267a87e1285c8f0c73.jpg

As you can see, I'm not quite aligned right to either my target line or the camera. Gotta work on that. Other than that, I can tell I'm still coming back inside, but I am pleased with how the club face looks to be similar to my spine angle. I also noticed my rotation in the swing itself needs a little better work, but I was tired after work and my left foot was sore today so I was being cautious.

I need to bring the Planemate back out, but since I've restarted SuperSpeed, there's just not enough time after work to balance family time and two different golf practices.

well boys looks like you weren't the only one's thinking about the takeaway today:

Today was the start of players irons testing at MGS.  It was 7 iron day for me and ball striking was the best I have had in a  long time.  Was reviewing my data and ball contact was actually centered on the face.  There were a few out toward the toe, but not as bad as I have been seeing lately.  Not sure what I did but I need to repeat whatever it is 🙂

Sounds like a club-ho anonymous post is coming soon. 😂

in all seriousness I love when I have that ball stroking day that feels effortless. Hopefully you figure out the magic sauce. If you do, please share the recipe!

For my practice today I had an indoor planemate session between calls.  On course Sunday my swing with long clubs was a mess and looking at some of the videos I was coming inside and not using my hips. I guess I was feeling stiff.  I focused on the short pitch motions that use a lot of rotation.

Exotics David Glod Tour Series Putter Black Finish

To deliver the ultimate in feel and touch, the putters are entirely CNC milled from a solid block of carbon steel. The milled X-grip face pattern provides unprecedented feel and control on the green and reduces skidding. The responsive, pure feel and feedback of the face design translates to incredible accuracy and touch. In addition, each putter has a hand-rolled leading edge ensuring that each stroke glides smoothly through the ball, even in the longer grass on the fringe.

Plus, the five tour-inspired designs feature a high-toe profile which eliminates the tendency to raise the toe at address, causing putts to go left of the hole. Further enhancing the setup, the Exotics David Glod Tour Series putters feature a True Temper stepless steel shaft that provides a clean appearance at address and a responsive feel.

    SPEEDZONE Big Tour Fairway

The SPEEDZONE Big Tour fairway features a larger shape, a stronger loft, forward weighting, and near zero CG to create the best combination of high launch and low spin to deliver extreme distance.

Whoa! Those exotics putters look interesting. I’d give one a roll to see how they feel. But the ER2B isn’t going anywhere in my bag. I rolled In putts of   16, 21, 24, and 26 feet at blissful on Sunday. I just love this distance control I have with that one.

I didnt hit the big tour fairway at my fitting. Are you thinking of having that replace your current fairway or more of a strategic tee club?

  9. Another mediocre showing for my team, although I’m thrilled to have gotten 3 wins with only one guy making the cut.  Things get better this week with 6 guys already starting. I’ve got some decisions to make with Koepka and Westwood out.

Somehow I’m still hanging on to a playoff spot, and I’m hoping Brooks gets healthy and Rickie starts to play well.

Complete guess here but it would be amusing if the metric was the best score to fewest fairways hit ratio. That way, the "winner" is most in need of a new driver.

I’d be in the running! Hit the driver terrible today but 8 1-putts meant my score doesn’t look as bad.

now I just need the invite to show up again so I can post it. Any word yet @GolfSpy_THV

I've got to do mine tomorrow, it's a jungle out there. I'm jealous of how good the grass looks up there, down here it's just a mess of weeds with grass poking up occasionally.

    Extra fertilizer last fall?

It looks good because of the extra fertilizer... and by extra fertilizer I’m referring to our dogs!

and it’s the low point of the yard with a relatively high water table, and plenty of afternoon shade.

its working for ya! Hell of a round, How do you get the screenshot to change like that btw?

@B.Bostonpenetrating flight man! Loving the 8* from the range and quick 9 hole its been used. 270+ on 3 holes to start the season....I will take that all day and twice on sunday!

he made a gif file of the pictures and it plays them like a slide show.  A neat trick he showed us back in #CC4!

This (expensive) experiment has worked out well. I'm head-over-heels smitten with the AutoFlex.

I've played three rounds of golf in the past week and have never driven the ball better. Arccos had been sucking for me early this season, but I made some tweaks in the Android power settings before my round yesterday and am glad I did. I think I had the best driving day I've ever had at my home course, and Arccos worked flawlessly in capturing the performance.

Seven of my nine drives went 270-plus yards, including three over 285 yards. I had a little wind help and even got one out to 299 on No. 17. On a 48 degree, rainy morning, I could not believe my results.

We've had a dry spring and I'm getting a little more roll than I'm used to at my course, but I'm definitely carrying the ball farther than I ever have and I still don't feel like I'm swinging as fast as I could. I'm hitting small draws and getting very nice height with the Mavrik set at 8 degrees. I am still playing with the stock Mavrik weight, at 46" to the end of the grip and swingweight of D2.5.

I know I've improved my swing a lot over the winter, but my Arccos Smart Distance at the end of last season with driver was 262 yards. Only one of my drives went less than that today, and it was a toed duck hook that I thankfully managed to keep in bounds.

My driving highlights from today's round:

    • No. 5 - I've only started hitting driver on this hole recently. It is a short par 4 with a narrow 30-yard fairway. A nice tight draw in the middle of the fairway led to have the shortest shot I've ever had into the green.
    • No. 7 - This hole is the hardest on the course. In three years of playing here I've birdied it once. Another tight draw up the hill left me a pitching wedge (!!!) into the green. I've never hit anything less than 8-iron for a second shot on this hole before.
    • No. 13 - Another tight hole but this one actually is flat and I got more roll from a perfect tee shot. I hit my drive so far I almost ended up in the drainage ditch in front of the green.
    • No. 16 - This was a so-so strike high on the face, but the ball was perfectly straight and rolled out to 277.
    • No. 17 - I had a slight helping breeze and the fairway runs a little downhill. I hit a small push that ended up on the right side in the rough near the trees. So close to 300!
    • No. 18 - Coming back uphill and into the wind, this was a low straight ball that worked perfectly for the conditions.

    No. 5:

Some Arccos highlights (if I could only chip and putt!):

    drives_af.gif.a43a88c137f86c350903ad71007d69af.gif

I think we'll have to allow the unfortunate three putts as being caused from being amped up from those drives!  We've all seen your putting getting better, add this to the mix and I think we're going to see some more PB's posted on the how'd you play thread.

I tried @Lacassem's driver set to 8* of loft... I have NO idea how you guys get those things in the air. 😆

My user name is condog combining my last name and dog. I’m from Douglas mass and play now out of Blissful Meadows. I’ was also a member at Whitinsville Golf club for many years leaving when my daughters played competitive basketball. I love to learn more every time I read others that are so knowledgeable and love and respect the game. I attended Providence College and continued in the education field for 38 years. Central mass has in the past years built many more public courses that are good tracts such as Blackstone National, Highfields, Blissfull, Shining Rock, Cyprus keys and a new redone Stow Acres. I worked for 5 years at Blackstone National and doing that you are around the game everyday from April til Thanksgiving. Now I want to play more in this area and Rhode Iskand and CT. Which has many great courses. I just wanted to introduce myself to other New Englanders who are passionate members like myself .

Welcome! I’ll be playing at blissful on Sunday! First round of the year. 🥳
