  1. Thank you everyone! Also happy birthday to the great Kevin Kisner too! Doing what I love on my birthday with the family!
  2. Exactly! and not what he ordered or was fitted for either. He could tell when the gap wedge was ballooning like a 60 degree wedge.
  3. Appreciate the updates and insights here! (Why I wanted to ask about other build “issues”) These were ordered directly from the Mizuno and their factory, the fitter was shocked as much as my buddy seeing the 8i shaft in there (or at least the fitter acted that way). The fitter called his Mizuno sales rep to get it corrected, so he is not building them.
  4. Hey fellow MyGolfSpyers! I wanted to share a quick story from a longtime golfing friend of mine. He recently got fitted earlier this year for new Mizuno JPX 921 Tour irons with KBS C Taper Lite shafts. He waited (like everyone this year) quite a long time to finally get his clubs, but his gap wedge came even later. Finally after a total of 12 weeks, he got his gap wedge sent to him. The last few weeks he felt like his gap wedge was going right, too high, etc...something felt wrong. He went back to his fitter and the launch monitor even showed odd numbers. When he removed the grip (picture shown), it appears Mizuno had cut down an 8 iron shaft for his gap wedge! You can see clearly in the picture its a KBS shaft listed for an 8 iron, from my understanding KBS makes a shaft specifically for each club. I share this as a free warning to carefully inspect your new clubs that you order! Factory mistake or not....definitely not what he expected to get from a company like Mizuno! Thanks for reading! Now go hit'um straight!!
  5. I’m sorry, I don’t remember exactly but I did hit the Cobra Radspeed and it was quick it did not stay in the running long! Everything was back to TSi3 or Epic Max LS. And the other factor was that Mitsubishi shaft is stock with Titleist! Usually that shaft is a $250-300 upgrade.
  6. I recently went to Ugolf in Dubuque, IA and was VERY impressed with the Driver fitting session ($150 for an hour, but if you buy that day the fitting fee is taken off your purchase). Tristan (the owner) got me in on short notice and even gave me a few "lesson tips" to help our session go better. At the end I was fitted into a TSi3 Mitsubishi AV Raw White 65g stiff shaft. I was shocked at the numbers the TSi3 provided on the Trackman, I am not great at driving the ball and play with around a 12 handicap. What I learned by going to a fitter is something I have NEVER read or heard online (anywhere). My misses are usually a slice, but even (what I feel are) good shots tend to fade out to the right more than I would like. I was currently gaming the TS2 with Hzrdus Smoke (low spin shaft) because of more "forgiveness", but what I learned from the fitting is that the TS2 (and most "forgiving" drivers) created too much spin for me. That creation of spin from those "forgiving" heads were making my ok middle hits into bad fades or even slices because of 4,-5-6000 rpm spin rates. The TSi3 cut my spins rates down by 2/3rds and was hitting straighter and straighter drives (The Callaway Epic Max LS was in the running too). The last drive I hit on the Trackman with the TSi3 was only 2300 rpms (I hit over 6000 on the TS2), 168 mph ball speed for a total 299yrd drive (and SOLD). I would have NEVER purchased a TSi3 on my own since I was thinking it was for "better players". I say all this, so others may think about their driver choices and do not count out "low spin" drivers that are marketed for "better golfers"! And as always...go see a fitter!
  7. Love the rambler too (especially drinking from the chug cap)! The only downfall or negative aspect I have found is leaving it in the sun or a hot car for too long, my cap starts to smell like mildew or something and then the chug cap has that smell when drinking. I noticed this on my trip to Florida last month. Anyone else have this issue or notice an awkward smell? Also thank you for letting me know about the “sling”!
