  1. I do that, but I wouldn’t say it’s a gimmick seeing as how triple track has been doing well in most wanted testing. It’s not for everyone though, but very fair for thinking it. I wasn’t a huge fan of them at first, but for me it really works inside 6 feet, and honestly still try to draw very short lines because I don’t want it all over my ball lol
  2. I use technology in a very basic and broad term, as I am not smart enough to understand all that they do. I meant as far as the driver, not that they couldn’t make low spin more “bomber” driver, but it’s fair to say from the TS range and on they gave the public more options to fit more golfers, in date I say, give them more distance. I’m in no way saying triple track is the same technology as a driver, but it is a mental technology that helps some people align better. The reason of Titleist and Ping only bringing advances that work are why I am such a fan and love their products. I know when they do something, it’s not a sales tactic. Which is why I think like you said it would be years down the road, and I think it would take a huge dip in sales. Along with triple tracks success with really helping align, can’t blame a guy for dreaming, right?
  3. Oh I’m sure they do, but if they could do something similar. It’s not as if people wouldn’t play it, because it definitely helps a big group of players. I have my hopes they eventually do something down the road, and I do believe in years it would happen. Just like their drivers, they eventually jumped in the speed and lower spin game, and now their drivers are on most wanted lists.
  4. Of course they won’t be the only option, not even callaway has it as their only option
  5. So I purchased a ball marker similar to triple track because I really like the alignment technology, but I like the Titleist Pro V1x. I am getting better a drawing them on, but the marker always smears during play. Any ways it’s nice to dream that Titleist will bring similar alignment to their model.
  6. Definitely! Like he says, you’ll hit some weird shots. But once you get the tempo and feel right you will be set. I had to move to the end of the range lol
  7. I heard that, I’m hoping I get to try it out.
  8. I haven’t tried tipping before, so I wouldn’t know how it affect the feel. I would suspect it would get you close to the x flex
  9. Well as far as Srixon, these were my first experience with them. I played Taylormade lethal a way back and they were great, and bought a sleeve of the TP5 pix and just didn’t see the performance I got from the Tour B XS or Pro Vx. I have played Pro V for years, and the tour B was the first ball that has stayed in play over the prov for any long amount of time. I don’t really get a lot of scuff marks once I switched to the tiger version. The thing I see that really bothers me about the cover is that after a couple of washes the covers texture begins to change, like the softer outer cover of the reactiv layer starts to wear away. I can usually get a full 18 out of the ball, unless I lose one, but the performance is as good as anything. I’m on my last dozen of tiger balls, and I’m already testing to see what I will play this year.
  10. I have been considering trying the pro 2.0ts or the pro ts, to help the swing weight. I can’t get away from my Ventus it’s just so good at my strike location and dispersion.
  11. 100 percent true, it is so smooth. I actually put it back in on days where I know I don’t get to warm up, and it’s effortless.
  12. I had the Tensei Orange 60X, so higher balance point. This one is more stable, and tighter dispersion, but the Orange is more friendly on days where I'm not swinging my fastest. The Ventus Black brings my flight lower as well, which I prefer.
  13. I have the Black in my G410, and it is a fairway seeking club for sure. Just watch the swing weight, I had to add a heavier grip. I kept getting stuck, but that was alot on me.
  14. I don't hate the use of rangefinders, as long as they are used as a way to speed up the pace of play. If caddies are still going to walk off distances, and check yardage book, then why even bother having them? At the end of the day a slow player is going to be a slow player and a fast player will be fast, no matter what is given to them. I can't blame them for being slow with that amount of money on the line, but I think it is good they are trying something.
  15. I may send them something, I really am interested in this ball, and hope it was just an early issue. Thank you for letting me know
  16. Maybe its the type of sand I have, and I have always heard of their durability. I have just never had two balls get damaged on the chipping greens on so few shots. Hopefully it was just a bad batch that I received.
  17. Same, once I tried the Bridgestone. I played ProV for years, and never really had any issues with it.
  18. That is what I thought as well, from MSG the cover thickness didn’t change on the XV. What a lot of people are saying is that they have the thinnest cover, and this is to be expected. At the same time it can’t be the most durable if a couple a chips is all it takes. It was a sample size of 3, so it may have just been my set or the type of sand we have at the course.
  19. Yes, I understand that is the nature of the beast. I am just glad I only bought a sleeve, and I am glad you said so I do not waste my time writing to them as well.
  20. Do something like the old Tootsie Roll Pops commercial, How many swipes to get the core???
  21. So I was really excited in testing the new Srixon golf balls. I have always heard they are great in the wind and really durable, and playing in Texas we have alot of wind and hard ground. So I took advice and started my testing on the green before trying it on the course. It rolled fine on the putter, but when I went to the chipping area I was very disappointed. The first shot out the sand, and SECOND hit with said ball, I got a decent size scuff mark, and I was surprised when I got the ball to see that as it did not feel like one that would have produced a scuff mark. Needless to say, I did not hit any more shots out of the sand, I hit about 10 more shots with each ball in the sleeve of 3 I had purchased. In that range another golf ball received a pin hole in the cover. So, 2 out of the 3 golf balls will not go into play due to the cover and how it will affect the aerodynamics, and I know that they are not major, but I do not need another excuse to be more offline lol. I spend alot of time around the greens practicing and I just have not had premium golf balls get damaged in just 20 minutes. I was very disappointed, and it may have been just a bad set, and it was the Japan version for what it is worth. For now I think I will stick with the Bridgestone Tour B XS. In the pictures below, it is hard to see but I can see the core in person on both balls, but I could not get the pictures to focus and it to be seen.
  22. Good luck, seems like a good place to try them out
  23. I’m not sure if it fits my swing type either, but I like his view of it fitting a finger palm grip. I grip more palm like, from what I learned in the Ben hogan book. Yet the added distance you get from it being more in the fingers is very beneficial. My thinking much like Bryson of the distance from the fingers but control of the palm grip seems like it is perfect, but we will see. Gonna have to put them to the test and see, so once they are in stock I’m going to try them out and will report back.
  24. If we could do a fraction of what Bryson does we’d be okay lol the driver and irons is really where I want them. I don’t want a lot of power for my wedges, and I’m not a flop shot guy but I don’t think I’d get them on my wedges. I appreciate your input, and I think I will try on my driver first.
  25. So Bryson is the mad scientist, and once you get past the ridiculousness of his methods, there is some nuggets of good ideas. I was looking into jumbomax grips, and they are currently out of the ultralite in the size I would like to try. I do not want to go down the tour route as that is a nightmare to get my clubs back to the swing weight I play them. Has anyone tried them? I would like to know if it does help with club face control, and if the quality is any good? How does it do with moisture control as I play in very humid conditions. Any feedback on the grips is much appreciated
