  1. Great article and you’re a brave man. Does it help when injured. Absolutely. Would I do it on a regular basis, hell no, but definitely you’ve given us food for thought. Well done.
  2. Good morning to all and happy Wednesday. Sun is out, enjoying my morning coffee. Golf courses opening soon. Yeah. Today’s aha moment, when you love or need your coffee. Have a great day.
  3. This should be a two part question. How much would you pay versus how much have you paid. Not so long ago, you could get a decent putter for $100-$250, but now a top of the line putter is approaching the cost of a driver. Given that the putter is the most used club in your bag (about 40% of the time) and that I have been fitted for putters using Quintic, (thank you TXG), generally the most I would pay is $450-600, however, I’m much more comfortable in the $250-$350 range. But that’s before, I start tinkering and install a stability shaft and Evnroll gravity grip, so I’ve just added $350 to the cost. I still strongly believe that replacing steel with a more up to date fitted shaft will improve performance. So the most I have actually spent is $800. Ouch. Does it make a difference. You bet it does. Combined with putting and short game lessons, I rarely 3 putt these days and I love the feel, precision and control of my putter. But, you still need putting lesson(s) and to be fit for putter. And then there’s the confidence of knowing I can make this putt or lag it close versus I hope I can. But it doesn’t stop the addiction of adding and collecting putters. I admit, guilty as charged.
  4. Good morning to all on an overcast Tuesday morning. On my second espresso catching up on the various posts. Weather starting to warm up and hoping golf courses open soon. Off to the acupuncturist and then massage later today. Have a great day everyone.
  5. Oh my, was that close last week. A big thank you and shout out to @Golf2Much for officially crunching the numbers and @GolfSpy_BEN for all his hard work and organization. And then there were two. So for the MGS VCT finals we have @Javsand @CFreddie Versus @EMacK1961 and @daviddvm. Which team will prevail? Which team has the bigger cojones to go really low. Who will win the battle of Texas? Will the Mexican sunshine prevail or cfreddie’s special Masters sauce keep cranking out the birdies in Georgia. I have to go with one of my initial picks in @Javs and @CFreddie. Last week @EMacK1961 and @daviddvm didn’t just bring the heat and the habaneros, they brought their flame throwing ghost pepper concoction. Can they keep it going one more week or did they use up all their scramble shots. But you know @Javs can handle the heat and will bring it this week using the motto, see birdie, make birdie. Will the Javsfreddie team get their mojos on and make eMackdavid run for their Tijuana’s or will their good play continue another week. Good luck gentlemen and one simple rule to follow. The cup is almost there.
  6. Good morning to all on a sunny but still cool Monday morning. Moving slowly this morning waiting for the caffeine to kick in. Huskies are curled up by the fireplace. Do they know something I don’t? Happy birthday to @Josh Parker Enjoy your day
  7. Good morning to all on a sunny but cold Sunday morning. It will start to warm up a bit later, so enjoying my morning espresso. Had a blast at yesterday’s Ping fitting. The new Blueprint S irons and s159 wedges are really nice. Soft with great feel. They will give my Vokeys a serious run for the money, so more testing is in order. Currently preparing ribs and chicken to go on the smoker later. Hoping I don’t have to shovel my way to get to the smoker. Have a great day all.
  8. Good morning to all on a snowy Saturday spring morning from the greater Toronto area. Mother Nature never got the memo it is now spring. Spring weather, more snow for you. Well at least the coffee is hot and delicious. Off to a Ping fitting later today. Looking forward to trying the new Blueprint S irons and hopefully s159 wedges. Have a great day.
  9. So very sorry for your loss, especially at such a young age. My deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family. Take all the time you need.
  10. Good morning to all on a still cold Friday morning in the frozen north. Apparently, I’m told that the “early spring” groundhog predictor is on vacation this week in Florida. Hmmm. I finally received my MGS tour bag card. A big thank you to @GolfSpy SAM for sending it to me. It then promptly disappeared like a bad slice into the woods. So the hunt was on. I looked in all the usual spots but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I finally spoke to sr. Management, aka the artist in residence, I.e. my lovely wife, if she had seen it. Nope, hadn’t seen it. Which then only left option B, that it had been apprehended in one of her cleaning forays. So off to the garage I went on my search through the recycle bin. And sure enough, the lost ball, oops I mean bag tag was found. Rather than tempt fate again, it is now securely attached to my golf bag. Whew, I think I need another double espresso. Have a great day and weekend.
  11. Good morning to all from the frozen northern tundra. Double espresso by the fire place going down very smoothly. Indoor golf later this morning, but wishing I were here. Cabo San Lucas - home of many great golf courses and home of the infamous Mexican starters rule “Hit it until you like it”. Dos cerveza, por favor
  12. Fabulous round @CFreddie I can already see @Javs grinning ear to ear all the way from Texas.
  13. Jamie, a heartfelt congratulations and very well deserved. You work very hard and do such great work, it’s very nice to see that you’re recognized. Well done and perhaps a few new MGS bag tags for you.
  14. Good morning to all on a wintery Wednesday. Well, Mother Nature had a rather emphatic response to yesterday’s request to dump winter and that I preferred summer. I woke to below freezing temperatures, snow on the ground and it was snowing. I guess I pissed winter off. We still love you winter, just not in late March when it’s supposed to be springs turn. Good thing the coffee is hot and delicious. @Dead Solid Bogey continue to get better and this is for you.
  15. @bens197 superb introduction, pictures, video and how you plan on testing. Your background and insights will be valuable to us all. I look forward to see how the Ping S159 wedges compare to your current Vokey’s, particularly the turf interaction and how well the grind and bounce comb works for you. And most importantly, will they make it into the bag. Very well done.
  16. Good morning to all on a cold Tuesday morning. Enjoying my morning coffee with the huskies at my feet. I woke to snow on the ground, so obviously winter didn’t get my previous message, so I’m sending it again. But, that Mother Nature is a fickle beast. Knowing my luck it will snow the first week of April just to piss you off. You heard it here first. Have a great day.
  17. Congratulations to the well chosen testers. Looking forward to the results of the testing and how the new Ping wedges stack up. Not going to lie, also looking forward to @Leonvdwesthuizen pictures from South Africa.
  18. sending you good vibes from a reputable source - Dr Seuss
  19. Thank you Javs, glad you enjoyed it. Now all you have to do is play well this week. No pressure. Thank you Josh, glad you enjoyed it.
  20. Happy birthday @Girldad18 Inquiring minds want to know. Are your girls taking you out for dinner or more likely, you’re taking them out and they let you “pick” the restaurant. Enjoy your day. @Jedediah welcome to the forum. Lots of great people here.
  21. Thank you for the kind words. It was liquid gold for me as well. Thank you for the lovely words she appreciates it Thank you for the wonderful words. She is indeed talented, but then I might be a bit biased.
  22. Wow, that was an epic round one of the playoffs. Who said the NHL playoffs were hard when you had each team duking it out hole by hole. And you thought the Players championship was close. My pre tournament favourites faired well with @Javs/ @CFreddie, @GolfSpy_BEN/ @Preeway and @Randall Robbins/ @IndyBonzo teams all moving forward. So in the semi finals who have you got. You know, the rest of the GolfSpy’s (APH, SAM, KFT, Shark) will have their pens and score cards out judging the competition on their secret ballots. So in the matchup of B vs C WINNER, you know the long hitting and competitive @Javs will bring the heat and @CFreddie will have his special Georgia “Master’s” secret sauce versus the ever steady and consistent Florida sunshine man @Randall Robbins together with the Hoosier's state @IndyBonzo Will he be “testing” his Qi10 driver and which shaft will he bring. Two of my pre tournament favourites going head to head in this one and I suspect it will be the play of @CFreddie and @IndyBonzo ultimately determining the outcome. No pressure guys. In the other matchup of A vs D WINNERS, you have I’m in Mexico @EMacK1961 and everything is bigger in Texas’ @daviddvm Against my game is on fire @Preeway together with my driver last week was held together with duct tape and bondo @GolfSpy_BEN. Will Ben get his replacement Qi10 driver in time? Will the silent assassins of group A, @EMacK1961 bring the Mexican sunshine and his habaneros to continue to play well together with the other Texas single handicap native @daviddvm. Whose secret home brew will be better and reign supreme, @Preeway or @CFreddie. Will @IndyBonzo travel to play golf? So is this the rumoured MGS cup they’re all playing for? So my semi final picks this week are the team of @Javs/ @CFreddie and @GolfSpy_BEN/ @PreewayWill either make it to the final? Or will the teams of @EMacK1961 and @Randall Robbins team make this Canadian eat his hockey puck to keep him quiet. Keep watching to find out.
  23. A huge and special thank you to @GolfSpy_BEN and @Golf2Much for your outstanding work. Couldn’t have done it without you. Very well done and looking forward to the next few weeks
  24. Good morning to all and happy Monday Much colder this week, so fire place is back on, cups of espresso flowing nicely. Epic Players championship yesterday. Well played by all, but Scottie was on fire. Round one of MGS VCT tournament is in the books with much fine play and very close and hard fought matches. Tune in for the semi finals this week. Now for some humour to start the week off. Have a great day.
  25. Hi William and welcome to the forum. I would highly and strongly recommend TXG (now Club Champion Canada). I have been going to them for years and had my wife and friends fitted there as well. They have two locations, in the Toronto area (Leslie/York Mills) and Mississauga (403/Winston Churchill). They also have an outdoor fitting location at the Pulpit. If it helps, here's the link on how to get the most out of your fitting if you opt to go that route.
