... This is what I love about MGS. I think we all know every major OEM makes a great driver. I demo'ed the Stealth2, Titleist D2/D3, hit the Aerojet and had a session with the Paradym. To be fair my back was stiff and it was freezing (ya know, 60* 😱) but I didn't like anything about the Paradym. The look, the feel and the performance were by far the worst of the bunch for me. Yet I know people that felt the exact opposite with the Paradym being their favorite and performing the best for them. 

... The more reviews we get to read the better informed we are. I love my Stealth2 with a Ventus Velo Red. So Ben, I hope your Paradym and Ventus TR Red are MAGICAL!!!

That is GREAT news. My biggest concern is not being able to hit them well. Of course, I don’t really hit what I have now very well so, at least I’ll look good and stylish not doing it 😉 

@BallsLeon and @cksurfdude thanks for the mention of sub70. I had been on the site earlier and I didn't see the LH option available. Just ordered the 699 pro v2 black with KBS TGI Tour 80 black shaft and Grey mcc grip. 

While looking for some used clubs for my kid, it dawned on me, I have used clubs! So I think I'll give them to him. Of course that would leave me in a bind.

So then, really like how those Titleist T200s looked and felt. Looks like a fitting is in the near future.

I'm thinking about buying a full set of used clubs for my boy, 13.

Went to a company party today at the range. Go karts, giant Jenga, corn hole, mini golf, and the range.

This young man has never expressed interest in golf. Not when I've invited him to the range in the past, not now that there is a sim in the garage. But today he wanted to hit a few so I grabbed a loaner and a small bucket.

10 balls in, no contact. 20 balls in, he was getting some decent strikes. Like .. really good for someone so fresh. Gave a few pointers and let him go. I'm not a golf instructor! 20 minutes goes by and his hands hurt. 20 more minutes go by and he's still at it. He wants another bucket.

Here's the thing. He's not trying to beat balls. Not going for ego swings. He's trying to hit it flush. Head down. Focused and deliberate. And when he hits a good one, my man's eyes are just lit up!

So I give him my 7.



When I went to swing it tonight I noticed this pattern. Wtf. That was a clean club. Range ball markings...

Maybe a fluke but I'm going to feed this flame while it's burning. Time to grab a few lessons and a starter set. Hopefully he gets the bug too. Would be amazing to chop it up with him on the course one day.

So yeah... A whole ass set of clubs. If he continues to improve, it'll be a fitting by spring.

I saw the same tip and my keys were in the range finder case. 🙁 When I grabbed them out of the case, I thought I need to grab the range finder and then I saw a squirrel, and because I have the attention span of a golden retriever, the rangefinder was forgotten and doomed.

My daughter just bought a house in Commack. Way too close to the new PGASS they opened there.
Like it wasn’t bad enough I have two of them within 6 miles of me down here in Myrtle Beach. 😂

It is amazing how much joy I get in other people getting new clubs... I think it is a no brainer go for it!

Took a ride to PGASS yesterday to try the Mizuno Pro 225 with my gamer ball against the Forged Tec.  It’s a tall order since I have trouble finding a fault in the performance of the Cobras. 
 

I basically have a nice even 15 yards between my irons, they’re easy to hit, pretty forgiving too.
So why am I doing this? Besides being a low grade club Ho… I had tried these at an Expo and thought the feel was great, and the looks too!

while the Cobra’s have that high Tec modern look the Mizzy’s are classic and clean. Now I was probably hitting marshmallows, so I needed to try with my ProV1x to see. Feel was still great yesterday… very tempting. 
But what did the numbers say?

those are my best 9 with each… some shanks, chunks, and thins were excluded, I haven’t played in a while and I’m not looking to see if the ball rolled out further after I laid sod over it. 🤪
generally it seems my spin was a bit higher, which I view as good. A few more yards of carry, and more stopping power.  
I really liked the slightly more compact shaping of the Mizzys too, the Forged Tec may just have met their match! 
 

Very different player than you but just fyi I've tried a bunch of hybrids and ended up with a Rogue ST Max OS 4H (Cypher Black shaft) .. really like it!

I am on the hunt (again for the 3rd time) to find the club that goes right behind my driver in the bag. Ideally, a club that I can hit off the deck and a tee and get at least 220 carry out of. Currently, I have a dinky 20* 4 hybrid that is built to 37" long (a single length hybrid even though I don't play single length clubs). Anyway, this is what I am currently getting out of it:

So I was doing ball testing today and at the end decided to mess around with a few hybrids and utility irons (I don't tend to get along with fairway woods - I have a 3 wood, 4 wood and 5 wood that are all collecting dust in my garage). I hit the Ping Crossover 3i (decent), Stealth DHY 3i (good) and then, just on a whim, the Rogue ST Max 3 hybrid (18* and 40.50" long). And uh, yeah, it was good (for me):

These are basically 5 Wood numbers for me. And this is off the mat as well. It makes sense and I don't know why I was fighting it for so long. I like a shorter club, fairway woods always felt too long. A hybrid is generally at least an inch if not two inches shorter and as long as I can elevate it enough at a lower loft why not use it? Anyway dispersion was decent as well. So I may be getting a 18* hybrid and I may be getting this Rogue. I will try to hit at least one other lower lofted hybrid and do it on another day to make sure I didn't just catch lightning in a bottle (dispersion below is rinky dink 4hybrid vs Rogue Max - there is probably an argument to play both of them since the gap is so large):

 
 
 

I'll let the fitter at TXG do his thing to guide me to the correct putter.  It has worked so far with the rest of my bag.
I am confident I will find a putter with the right putter stroke characteristics.  The harder part might be the feel for distance control.  I have been trying some old putters I have and it seems the head weight, grip size and grip weight make a difference for distance control.

PXG through Amazon still has some options available.  You don't get shaft options, though.  I just pulled the trigger on a 3 wood that I don't need but I couldn't help myself.
