  1. I'm curious on what Optishot was thinking here. I rarely see anybody writing about how much they love their Optishot. I can’t believe the price tag on the BallFlight. That is a huge price jump, and I just don’t think that the trust factor is there for it after the Optishot. I'd like to see a side by side comparison of the Ballflight, Skytrak, and GC2. I’m curious if it’s just as good as Foresight Sports, though I’m already skeptical. I started off with the Optishot 2, did not deliver as I expected. I upgraded to Skytrak and found more of what I was looking for. I’d like to someday move to a GCQuad, but $1,995 for the Skytrak was still a lot for me. I’d have to see a lot more info on the Ballflight, but it’s probably not ever going to be on my radar after my disappointment.
  2. It’s crazy how far launch monitors have come in the last 7 years! I came across this thread while pouring through the forums and stopped to think where I was in my golf game 7 years ago. I'd just started golfing in 2011 and was stumbling my way through that and had no idea that there was technology out that could measure the kind of data that launch monitors like Voice Caddie and SkyTrak can. I have a ES16 that I’ve used to work on fine tuning some of the problem areas of my swing. It’s helped me take a lot of the guesswork out of working on which areas are problematic. It has had misreads and been pretty frustrating at times, but overall it’s done and worked exactly how I thought it would. I can’t wait to see wait the next 7 years brings us for golf technology when you consider how far it’s grown since 2012.
  3. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I’ve been playing since 2012. What do you love about golf? I enjoy getting outside for the sunshine and fresh air. I love competing against myself and seeing the improvements. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Been getting more into golf the last six months, way past just a casual hobby now. Where are you from? What is your home course? I’m from Draper, UT, a suburb of Salt Lake City, about 15 miles south of SLC. My home course is South Mountain Golf Course. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best thing is the views of the mountains from just about any golf course in the area. The worst thing is winters. We get a lot of snow so if I want to play a course in winter I have to drive at least four hours south to get out of the snow. What do you do for a living? I work in customer support. How’d you pick your user name? Golf fan, just obsessed with it. If I’m not playing on the weekends then I’m watching it on tv, or hitting in my indoor golf simulator.
  4. I remember feeling like a kid on Christmas the day it was out for delivery. I took the day off from work fully anticipating getting by midday and playing until midnight. It didn’t arrive until 6 that night. Still, I did play until midnight. I wish I’d had the money to invest in a GC2 with HMT but it was way out of my price range at that point. Glad I stumbled across SkyTrak. While not as accurate as the GC2 I’ve found it helpful in fixing some problems areas of my swing. Finally got rid of my nasty slice. I agree that if you’re expecting a Trackman you’ll be sad. That being said I’ve found it to be fairly accurate to what I hit IRL. My junior golfer loves getting practice time in now. Before it was always hit and miss with him and now I have to kick him off at night so he’ll go to bed. Hope you’re still getting a kick out of it!
