  2. The 13th hole Lakeside golf course in Fort Wayne, IN was the hardest hole on my home course. The course is now closed. It was a 420 yard dogleg left. There was OB all the way down the right. To top it off, there was a road. If your ball was going OB and hit that road, it wasn't coming back. Down the entire left side there was a creek with very mature trees along the banks. A giant black walnut guarded the corner on the left side. For a kid that couldn't hit a draw, this was a nightmare. If you could manage to get the ball in the fairway, you had to be on the right side and far enough down to get around that tree. If that wasn't already enough, the green had big back to front slope. If the pin was up front, it was manageable. When they would move the pin up the slope you had to be below the pin. I remember more than a few times being close to even par on my round and then I would card a double or triple on #13 and just kill my round.
  3. I had a cortisone shot and then went to physical therapy for about three weeks. I continued the therapy at home for another two to three weeks. This was during the winter in Indiana. By the time the golf season started I was ready to start swinging a club. It took a couple of weeks to get back to 100%. For a while, I wasn't sure I would ever golf again. I waited too long to get it evaluated. How did it become frozen? My wife asked if I could swim the butterfly. I did a couple of laps and the shoulder was history. It sucks to get old. Needless to say, no more butterfly.
  4. I would rate Purgatory in Noblesville, IN as the toughest course I have ever played. You can have a fun time playing the white tees, but when you play the Purgatory tees it is, well, Purgatory.
  5. I am a certified digital marketing specialist for a top ten defense contractor. I manage web content and social media channels for one of our business segments. We have an amazing product portfolio. I've been with the company for over 15 years and I truly love what I do. I will be 55 this year.
  6. @BrownBearGolf Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am curious about PXG's offerings, but there isn't a fitting center near me. So deciding whether or not to try them is a little complicated.
  7. All PING in my bag except my Odyssey putter. Planning to make some changes this year. I believe I will end up with the Mizuno STz fairway wood. I would like to give the PXG 0211 hybrid a go, but probably will end up with the PING G425. Thinking that I will upgrade to the PING i220 irons and Glide 3 wedges. Auditioning new putter this year too.
  8. Can I please get a broke 80 and hole in one tag? I would like to see a broke par tag!
  9. How long have you been playing golf? I grew up on a golf course. I have been playing since the mid 1970s. What’s your handicap or normal score? I normally score between 80 and 85. What do you love about golf? I love the challenge. It is great way to spend a day with old or new friends. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? I like the testing philosophy. Do you already know any other Spies? I am not sure that I do. Where are you from? Born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. I grew up on Lakeside Golf Course (#15). It is closed now. What is your home course? Bridgewater East in Auburn, IN What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? We have a nice variety of courses. The costs are reasonable and getting tee times usually isn't too big of a problem. What do you do for a living? I am a digital marketing professional for a Fortune 500 company.
