  1. Mine is built the same but not tipped. I got to hit some balls on the simulator at lunch today. My shoulder is still a bit stiff but I got a few out there aways. Only had a few swing speeds in the 115 range, and most were 105-110, but I will say it is a few yards longer than my game, and consistently pretty straight. Will do some more testing in the next few weeks and see if any adjustments need to be made
  2. I don't know about the TS3, but my shots into a good 10-15mph wind last week went 290-310. I think @DPattGolfand I have the same setup/shaft but agree that so far it is very low spin and good into the wind. Planning on a simulator this week w/ old and new driver to compare.
  3. For me, unless I'm playing somewhere with Open rough, If my ball is generally where I want it within the trees and not way outside the fairway, that still gives me a good shot into the green, I count it as a fairway. Also, there are a few holes where my target might be another fairway, so I count it if I hit that. I ran out of real-estate a few times my last round, but Would put my FIR at closer to 65%-70 than 40%
  4. I had mine defaulted to the heavy weight in front and I don't think I'll change. Loving the way it's hitting so far. My shots so far have been mostly draws and I don't think I've missed anything right through 27 holes. I've had a few that have drawn too much, but still getting the feel of it. Hoping to get on a launch monitor this week with both the TR20 and my old driver to compare.
  5. Had the Sub70s a little over a month but loving them so far. They are a couple degrees flatter than my old mizunos so it's taking some time to adjust to the distances but they feel really good! I haven't had to hit them too much with the Honma in the bag so far because I've had a lot of wedges in to holes. Also the Honma is really shiny!
  6. Here's a few more pics of mine as well. Including a pic next to my current gamer. Also got to hit a few in the dark tonight. First shot with a Vice with dog teeth marks went 302 down the middle. Then I hit a Pro V1 on the next one and
  7. Let's go boys! I took a pretty good mountain bike spill yesterday afternoon and have some bruised ribs, but should be able to swing it this evening after a few beers and some ibuprofen
  8. Current is a tour Edge XCG7 beta, and I have a buddy with a Sim, but will take them both to the course as well
  9. One of my Twitter follows @thegreenfee1 blogged this yesterday https://thegreenfee.wordpress.com/2020/07/08/is-this-a-future-callaway-release/ https://twitter.com/TheGreenFee1/status/1281599394081538048?s=20
  10. Thank you all for participating in our thread and giving our page count a boost ! We're on page 2 and about to get our sticks, and you are already on page 48 of banter in CC4! Either way, it's Christmas in July for all of us right now!
  11. Still tracking for delivery tomorrow, 4 states away, where I'll be on Sunday. I trust Fedex will handle it gently as they walk it into the UPS Store
  12. Just got word that my Honma TR20 440 is shipping today! Haven't hit it yet, but can't say enough great things about the service and experience so far. I'll be in Utah next week on vacation, and Honma was able to change shipping to the condo so I will have it on Monday!
  13. I'll make sure to post in the Honma thread to, but just thought I'd jump in and say that I just got word that my Honma driver is shipping today! Cc: @Getoffmylawn @JudgeSmails @DPattGolf
  14. The feel is great! They are about 5-8 yds longer than my old Mizunos and feel every bit as good.
  15. @golfingbrock on Twitter and Instagram. Primarily on Twitter where there is a great golf community. Occasionally I take a break to work, also. Also met a lot of fellow golfers through #golfchat every Tuesday 7:30 pm Central at @realgolfchat
  16. Here is the analog version of the Exputt that simulates distances https://lagputtpro.com/
  17. Woah, I had no idea any of these things existed! I'm sure the numbers from the XPutt are useful if you know how to use them, but alas I will continue using the plastic cup that came with my son's first plastic set. Also my office carpet has some decent grain to simulate our local Bermuda greens.
  18. Totally agree. I have about 20 yards to pitch in my back yard, and even these shots will help with consistent contact throughout the bag. Before a round, hit some 20-40 yard pitches, especially if you don't have time for the range. Most of the time I only go to the range when I take my kids, and the focus is on helping them. Last time I hit balls on the range before a round was before a city tournament last year, my first individual tournament in years, and had my worst round of the year! The next day of the tournament, went back to my normal pitching routine, and had the 2nd lowest score that day. I realize much of this is personal, but I've never been a range rat and usually don't like hitting balls before I play. My ideal lunch break practice is 30-40 minutes pitching/chipping from various lies, and 10-15 minutes putting. If I have 30 minutes before the round, it would be 10-15 orange whip swings, some light stretching, 10-15 minutes pitching, maybe 5 minutes putting. A few lags to get speed and make a few short ones, then relax/banter for 5-10 minutes to get my mind ready to play.
  19. When are the Cobras supposed to ship? Looks like us Honma TR20 testers will get our drivers shipped early next week.
  20. I've been there. So easy to over-do it, but if you're training that hard, make sure to eat enough! It's always been hard for me to get stronger and leaner simultaneously. Per Bryson, no less than 12 Protein shakes a day!
  21. I like middle of the road, because you can still be aggressive and don't have to lag from 10-15 ft. I don't mind the challenge of fast greens, and short putts are easier to hit a good stroke. Slow greens I same to push and pull more short/mid range putts trying to hit them hard enough
  22. I haven't been fit before, so why start now? I really wish we could have been able to do it in person, but I feel confident about the options we picked. I play in a lot of wind, so went for the lowest loft option 8.5, which can be turned down to 7.5, then went to the low/mid flight FP-7 shaft which has a stiffer tip, or 'boardy' as like some like to say in golf forums. Also found this interesting tidbit from a MGS article when searching for info on the Vizard shafts:
