  1. You can just feel the pressure on Rory and it gets worse and worse each year......did he miss his chance when he endured that final round collapse in 2011? 12 years later, we are less confident in his ability to win this tournament. If he happens to be lucky enough to be in the running on Sunday, let's hope that little scared kid does not emerge and cost him a shot at immortality.
  2. a lot of the head to head testing on you tube shows the new TP5X to be lagging behind balls like the Prov1x. Not sure why TM cant get this ball right. Each release its drastically "different" than the model before the 2019 TP5 is still the best TM ball ever made in my opinion
  3. cool.....i saw on the TM website they list the TP5 at 53 compression,.,. Is this legit?
  4. yup....i read all of it and digested as much as i could hoping they do a ball lab on it soon. too bad they cant test new balls every year. the timing of the test being done every 2 years leaves a lot to be desired as new balls are coming out in between....so in essence you dont get comparisons between all the new balls released each year...you have to wait a full year to see the new TP5 tested.... i know how involved the test is so i get it....i just hope they get to a point where they can test balls prior to mass release
  5. I am always on the line between flexes when i purchase clubs its actually annoying but I guess I can adapt to either or..... the yardages are spot on with my driver and 4 wood...... so many guys I play with claim 300 yard drives until we hit the course and then they are all "amazed" that only hit it 250.......I can crank one 270 on a good day but im right around the 250-255 mark
  6. Has MGS tested these balls vs the 2021 model? so many radical claims about the new TP5X going 7 yards further than the previous model.....just curious if there is any merit to the new speed wrap core or whatever they call it
  7. i have a nice tempo with slight aggressivness, nothing crazy. I do not generate "EXTREME" load on the shaft but i hit my 19 degree around 210 if that helps....not super long by any means
  8. I am about to purchase a PING G430 hybrid and see no need for a fitting.....what shaft is pings best stock shaft for a high ball hitter with a 90+ MPH swing?
  9. sometimes cutting the shaft down a 1/2" to an inch makes the staff stiffer and you become more accurate. Stock shafts offered are typically too long for the amateur player. The amateur player benefits greatly from a 44" shaft opposed to a 45.5 seen in most stock offerings
  10. Played the TP5's the other day......9 holes with each........this does not match the media hype at all......TP5x is still very clicky, not enough spin under 100 yards and the distance is the same as many other balls. The TP5 is still too soft, spinny and short.... All the TM marketing is funny to me as Rory, Fowler and youtube "influencers" are all saying the same thing "Ive made my best gains with thi ball".....lol..... and the fact TM says "the longest 5 layer ball on the market" is a joke......its the ONLY 5 layer ball out there......
  11. I have TBH. I just played the new TP5X and its all hype once again. Still clicky, still mediocre in the long iron game and definitely not enough spin around the greens The other side of the coin is the TP5 is still too soft and spinny.....lots of room for improvement in this lineup if you ask me....... the marketing is hilarious.....each player is saying "I have my longest gains with this ball".....Rory, Fowler and even a hot of youtube amateurs.....IMO, TM is not even CLOSE to Titleist quality or performance......Callaway is much better than TM and closer to Titleist......im disappointed.
  12. Can you do a specialty ball like the left DOT???
  13. I usually gain 3 shots a side when i wear a $1000 outfit Shoes 250 Shirt 125 pants 400 glove 25 hat 80 sunglasses 120
  14. makes sense. Im used to a DG 130 but as i am starting to age a bit, im looking for something a little more manageable for 18 holes
  15. Ok, i am not a huge proponent of fitting for amateurs with HDCP of +8 or higher. I just think lessons and swing improvements should be maximized prior to fittings.......I say this because as you improve and your swing changes, the fitting process may change as well......not a popular thought, i know That being said, I just went through a fitting at a local club and the fitting came down to the DG 120, PX 5.5 LZ and the Modus. The fitter said the Modus 120 is the best shaft for all amateurs in the 10-20 HDCP range. For me, the shaft felt a little whippy compared to the DG120 and PX but the numbers were all about the same.... is this fitter accurate with this statement?
  16. chromesoft is a very under rated ball.....it does everything well.....switching balls to something "better" may not result in better scoring.....its rare a switch results in you actually SCORING Better.....thats the ultimate goal is to score better....not gain 2 yards of distance off the driver....
  17. While i wish i had seen the Left Dot in this test, i was shocked to see how well the V1X did across the board....longer than left dash at mid swing and fast speeds.......if you are a titleist player and swing in the mid range, only two balls in thier lineup exceed 400 yards on a driver and mid iron.....Left dash and V1x... I was disappointed in the V1 in comparison as Titleist has claimed to incorporate some left dot technology but I feel they missed the mark.....Finau left the V1 to go back to the left dot.... i have to test the V1x on the course.....
  18. im already dying to know WTF happened to TM balls.......
  19. coming soon....... Video.mov
  20. The CS and CSX are two of the most under rated balls ive ever played......the CS may not be for me but i played it for a full summer and the ball went straight as an arrow, i shot multiple rounds in the mid 70's and its a very solid ball. The CSX is a high quality high performing ball all over the course. It sits @ # 3 for me behind the Left Dot and regular prov1. 2019 TP5 was also very very good. Just like a V1 for me left dot still the best ball ive ever played
  21. Has anyone compared the two balls on course or in a booth or on a monitor? The reason i ask is this; Titleist has claimed the new Prov1 has "incorporated technology from the left dot" into the new Prov1 which has led to some pros switching to the new prov1 away from the left dot. I played both this weekend and to me, the balls are very different for my game. Similarities - the prov1 name Differences - Paint color, dimple pattern (including depth and # of dimples), feel, launch and trajectory (visual), distance, short game feel and performance. I am trying to understand why the left dot is not added to the lineup given the differences in performance. It fits perfectly in the lineup between the V1 and the V1x. Regardless of the TECHNOLOGY put into the V1, my on course analysis is these balls play very differently from each other. I love the left dot and previous to playing this i was a V1 user for years..... really hoping the Left Dot has another release and eventually comes to retail.
  22. interesting stat..80% of tour players blend their sets while 30% of amateurs blend.....with the T150's, it will be easier to blend with the T200.......
