  1. Stephen,

I lived in Huntsville until about 3 years ago, now I live about 20 miles south. I get into a few scrambles throughout the year and often times need a 4th! message me on here maybe we can get together some time and play.

  2. Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf

This book cover's all the "basics" of the golf swing. I thought I had the basics down until reading this book, I then realized that I had several huge flaws in my setup and swing. This book is great to reiterate the basics. It has me playing the best golf of my life. I would recommend this book to anyone who maybe once took lessons when getting started and may need a refresher to knock out some bad habits that may have been developed over time.

What I love about this site is you never know where you might stumble upon a piece of information that is just gold. I read this piece the other day and it got me thinking, am I properly setting up with the driver for my swing?

I've struggled the past couple of months with a downward AOA that has resulted in a lot of very high launching drives and more than a few pop ups. I've tried lower tees, ball position, shoulder angles, etc... to no better results.

When the photo of Moe Norman addressing driver was put in this post, it made me question my habit of placing my driver next to my ball like I did with irons. My next trip to the driving range I started moving my driver back to about four inches behind the ball and immediately there was a difference in contact and ball flight. I was closer to the center of the face and had a more piercing flight. My last round saw the best day with driver I've seen in a long time.

Thanks everyone for your input, you guys are great!

The More Norman photo also has me ready to try a different setup.

    1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I have been playing since graduating college in 2015. I currently average in the mid 80s but am improving every year.

    2. What do you love about golf? I love the constant search for improvement, it is like trying to figure out one big puzzle. I  am also a huge fan of any sport where you can leisurely drink beer while playing.

    3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I came for the golf ball review, stayed for all the other great information I found on the site. I do not know any other spies, yet.

    4. Where are you from? What is your home course? Arab, AL - about 20 minutes south of Huntsville AL. No real home course, i try to play different places regularly.

    5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best: you are able to get a few rounds in during the winter, and people stop golfing in the fall because of football. Worst: Jean shorts.

    6. What do you do for a living? Safety and Compliance Manager

    7. How’d you pick your user name? It is my go to for most websites.
