In May of 2021 I was playing a practice round for the Colorado Golf Association Senior Fourball tournament at Thorncreek Golf Club in Thornton, CO. I was playing with my partner, David, and two buddies, John and Robin, who were also in the event. (They won it that year.) We were not playing a game, just practicing, until we got to the 150 yard seventeenth hole. David stepped onto the tee and proposed "$100 for a make." No one objected. John hit first--hole-in-one! Robin hit next--hole-in-one #2! Two swings, two aces. I reached for my wallet to pay but Robin said "nope, one tie, all tie, it would just taint the accomplishment."
I hit third thinking that in recorded golf history there may never have been three consecutive aces, but I missed the damn green!
