  1. Love the fingerprint technology. I just put on Sonar Wraps but almost pulled the trigger on Sonar+ just have had wraps style for so long it just feels right to me.

I'll be curious to see how the UTx texture is tests. Good luck all.

  2. I a bit of a DIYer and was inspired. I see the functionality of this product. I only had 6 clubs and accidentally pulled something out on every hole was a blast and not for the weak at heart.

I let my 2 year old "golf" on the greens then we walked to the next tee box and practiced until I could hit. Let's just say throwing the ball twice then picking it up walking to the hole and dropping it in is her preferred form of golf. She made it through 6 holes before she passed out.

I will end up doing this again and I definitely will keep an eye on this review.

  3. This is a fantastic test to run if only my toddler could handle this much focus. I want to get my girls into golf if they enjoy it and want to keep them active. This will definitely be on my list over the next few years. Excited to see how the testers see it.

So I looked was looking at my sim screen earlier today and saw some of the extra EMT piping. My brain turned to Engineering mode and well if I get chosen or well I go down a rabbit hole i may end up building my own REVEALER.

Should just be a little 3D printing, conduit and a ball bearing should be all thats needed.

    Slow Friday means productivity?

Edit: current cost estimate ~$6 ill post in the DIY when I get it actually made and tested.

Tough call for me as well. I don’t think I need more distance really and if anything I hit the ball to high. So you would think CB but I selected 101t as my preferred as forgiveness is more important to me right now. Since I don’t play as much as I used to I am not as a consistent ball striker as before.

Yea I'm in the same spot. The heart wants the CBs but I know I shouldn't turn away forgiveness. I believe the 101T are likely similar to my Maltby TS-1s.

Just wish I could get an ultra forgiving blade... but physics just doesn't want that to happen.

  7. Glad to see Tokomo joining MGS opportunities.  They really have been everywhere getting there name out. With tons of reviews on YouTube and Instagram giveaways.  Good to see out crew joining in that love. They do have some very good looking irons and have heard good praise on performance/price.

When I got my Directed Force 2.1, people laughed

L.A.B. says the DF 2.1 is fully automatic putting, the MEZZ putters are semi-automatic, and the B.2 was for those who rarely miss the center of the face. I assume the Link.1 falls in the same category, except it has exceptional feel.

Now you got me thinking I need to try the DF 2.1. I need automatic. And I can live with the aesthetics.

This will be very interesting test as testers will be required to have these in their bags for a longer time and really go into it.

LAB is also going to work with testers, do the fitting and hopefully most if not all testers will get on SAM Lab or Quintec (misspelled that) for some cold hard data on how it works.

The opportunity you guys are bringing and the brands backing their product. We all appreciate the hard work

    15k is a lot!

Truthfully I'm more excited for what we are announcing tomorrow 😉

We are not out of April and its been Banger after Banger. 2 sets of irons, driver, putter, gloves, balls, grips, fill set. You Mods have been busy and are delivering on it!

  9. MGS keeps at it. Thanks for working hard to get these tests for us. Glad we don't have to chose a model initially I want to see how a fitting would go and what model works best for me. Leaning toward the Mezz.1 though.

I asked Club Champion ([email protected]) what their process was for the SMS irons and this was their response:

"At this time, we do only have the 6 iron club head component for the iron fitting of the Edel SMS irons.  We will absolutely help get you dialed in on the proper shafts and how the weight distribution should be.  Then, Edel has a full breakdown, based on your results, on how the rest of the set should be ordered."

Not sure how other fitters handle it but I would assume for most it would be cost effective to only have the 6/7 iron on hand, and then dial in the moveable weights for the clubs once you actually buy/receive the clubs.

Only one more day until testers are announced!

Yea I have been debating about calling the Club champion or Golftec that are about 2 hours away and asking them for their process/knowledge but have been holding back until we know the testers. I would want to call the fitters themselves to get detail of what they actually have and what variables the can throw in. I would assume its covers a majority of the clubs with the single club fitting and the golfer will likely learn what feels best on weight position and can move the other if they feel necessary.  I have done my fair share of research... can't get these out of my head. I'm surprised how few Youtube reviews I can find and only a handful of articles that give good detail on the experience of these clubs.

Yea cost effective and storage constraints if they needed even 3 clubs from each company would triple what they need to store and all it would allow them is a better ability to benefit blended sets which wouldn't really earn them any more money.

I won't be distracted at all tomorrow refreshing the page every 10 mins. Good luck everyone and know the pressure is on for you to write an informative review because there are many of us curious to see how they are in real testers' hands.

In the testing I did at HQ once one finds the optimal weighting locations/shaft/length/loft/lie they are applied throughout the set as one’s swing/delivery generally don’t change across an iron set. Fitting is done with five consecutive swings, move the weight, five more, etc. changing shafts, etc is part of it as well.

Interesting Im sure there is fairly consistent delivery but I can see having differences from 4i to wedge that may be gradual. Also with a combo set there may be slight variation between the two.

It likely isn't the full 6g shift but it may be a 2,4,6 or other combination of weights. I'm sure the 2,8,2 get the primary swing weight and 95% of the way there but having 5 different weights available means they can & should be used.

When you did the testing was it only the 2g & 8g that you tried?

  12. Excited to see how the testers experiment with the different weights. This club is truly meant for the tinkerer. 216 weight combinations, and ability to vary each club independently is really a rabbit hole of customization.

If only it had a loft/lie sleeve this club would give a golfer the ability to tweak most areas of a fitter without the needed equipment.

Man my brain is going into some dark places... no one is stupid enough to get a heavier set screw from the hardware store are they? 🤪

I mentioned it in a stop at CC and the fitter there wasn't enthused by the idea of fitting a person to equipment as opposed to testing multiple options and letting the clubhead/shaft combo show from your results.

I would assume it's not going to be as technically tuned to the club settings but rather a fitting for the golfer as per normal followed by analysis of the results afterwards to determine settings for the construction.

Thats true, I've never gone to a fitting knowing what I wanted and just dailing it in. Also with the weights there are 216 unique combination which will be some fun experimenting.

Really hoping whoever gets picked for these buys the extra weights to play around with and report on their experience adding more or less weight to each position.

This test has the potential to be the most intriguing one yet from an iron perspective.

Yea I'm curious how the fitting experience goes for sure since although many are willing to mess around seeing numbers and flight comparison would be really helpful.
