  1. not surprised at all after my own experience with these balls..........pass
  2. i think if a person is concerned about irons "scars", they shouldnt be playing forged irons and rather use cast irons. It will much easier, as is impossible to prevent Scars on blades or other one-piece irons.
  3. Original White Hot 2 Ball - 16 years. and Im even buying the new OG soon to be released just for the nostalgia factor and the fact is the best insert putter of all time.
  4. The 60 sounds good and as any other wedge to me now. Nonetheless, the 56 maintained the tin metal sound........but whatever I learned and will probably never get vokey wedges again after this. Will be changing the 56 to the new Cleveland when it launches and keep the vokey for range/practice.
  5. im aware of that, thus im suspicious if this could be an isolated case where somehow mine are "wrong" or something like that.
  6. Nothing has changed at all beside the club head (same exact shaft,Dynamic Gold S400, ball ) and I ordered directly from Vokey Wedgeworks (since they are custom stamped). Im so sad and mad at the same time.
  7. Hey guys, I just recently received my 2 custom vokey wedges from wedgeworks and was so excited to play them (as I played several vokey wedges in the past and loved them). My 2 SM8s are in the Brushed Steel Finish (just in case it makes a difference and I got the 60 in L (4 bounce) and 56 in M (8 bounce). Situation: Both my wedges sound like a very cheap Tin Metal sound at impact (it's almost disgusting to my ears, given im used to the feel/sound of my Mizuno MP-20 Blades). This happens no matter if its a totally flushed shot or not, same cheap metal tin sound. I am coming from the Cleveland RTX4 and these feel great and sound great at impact, no problem there. Things I have done/thought about: I brought 2 friends to hear me hitting them to see if they could hear anything funky with them. Almost instantly they both agreed its a very weird sound, like a Tin metal sound at impact. They also think its very odd, especially for a Vokey. I also thought about the finish, since I only have these 2 in the brushed metal finish, I have no way to compare to the chrome or black finish to see if it makes any difference. I also thought it could be the grind/bounce but dismissed as my 2 wedges have 2 different grinds/bounce I also searched the whole internet and youtube reviews for anyone else complaining about SM8s sound and couldn't find anything on it That being said, I would like to know if anyone here has tried the SM8 Wedges outside and have experienced the same Tin Metal sound at impact. Needless to say, im devastated with this much anticipated purchase, which I cant return now since they are custom stamped and all of that. Appreciate your input.
  8. TP5x is the longest tour ball I have tried with irons (around 6-7 yards longer than the rest) but based on the AVX properties, it should be probably 8 yards longer than the TP5x and around 15 yards longer than the rest of urethane balls.
  9. I have to be blunt and say I dont like the format of this report, why not just provide the distance in yardages, i wont even bother reading that chart with just %s, its of no use to me and I know it will be the same for most. My 2 cents there.
  10. people get their feelings all touched-up whenever someone doesnt like "their" brand. SMH. If you aren't the owner/CEO of the brand, why would you care what anyone says about your favorite product. Hard to understand. If I had to reply back each time defending my love for Mizuno, I would be dead by now........
  11. I agree, Bridgestone is the one everyone is salivating about (for the 2 for 3 deal). Srixon are sub-par balls (in my case at least, much shorter than most urethane balls, etc)
  12. Many thanks for the info! I guess I wont bother trying the yellow it as I need low spin with driver and the Black already gives me plenty (was even thinking of trying the Green Hulk)
  13. Im curious is there a big difference between Hzrdus Smoke Black (non-counter balanced) vs smoke yellow (counter balanced)? I ask because I ADORE the smoke black (use it on the Epic Flash Subzero and now also in the TM SIM) and wonder if I would probably also love the smoke yellow as well. Just curious, as It wasn't available at my fitting.
  14. I can already see Callaway literally handpicking which balls to send over to MGS for their 2020 ball review, in which case will make the callway balls test completely useless (since it wont represent the real population of the new 2020 balls). I suggest MGS orders in the callway balls for their test vs receiving them from Callaway. My 2 cents.
  15. These are a few of my best swing thoughts I have picked over the years that had a marked impact on my game: -Keeping back to the target (staying with shoulders "closed" through Impact). This fixed my overly fast hips/shoulder rotation in the downswing which was causing huge blocks in my case, since I was leaving the club way behind. Similar to this, is Bobby Lopez' 2 o clock drill (keeping your eyes and making sure your chest is pointing at 2 o clock at impact (12 being straight at the ball) -Hands forward at impact/coming down with left hand in downswing - This instantly fixed my flip at the time and added 1-2 clubs yardage with all my irons. Almost magical for any flipper.
  16. Nike irons were amazing! I played the original Nike Forged Pro Combo irons for 13 years, they were THAT good! it was the rest of the line that was a bit lacking.
  17. Update after my second round with the SELs yesterday. I was playing a completely new course to me and we went from the Championship Tees with 15 mph winds (Texas). Doing so gave me the opportunity to use my longer irons frequently in the round, including longer par 3s and some longer par 4s as well. In regards to the MB, I got to play my MB 5 iron, 5 times today and have to say I'm really impressed with the results (please note this is the lowest MB iron in the SEL set). From the 5 shots, 4 were in the green (closest was 6 feet) and 1 was around 10 yards short of the green due to my own error. I would take that EVERY single day for sure!!! Kinda still wish us lefties had the option to have 3-4 in MB as well, but is a move forward with Mizuno and no biggie. Next year I hope the JPX Tour version gets released in left-handed and I will be buying them as well if that's the case (I'm that in awe with these Mizuno irons)
  18. That's pretty much what they did with the SEL (Special Edition Lefties), Its HMB 3-4 and MB 5-PW, this set is insanely good. I have seen many right handers just replicate the SEL config or similar (like going 3-5 HMB, etc)
  19. I just got a call today from the store, that my MP-20 SELs will be shipping out to the store this Thursday and should be here early next week!!!!!! Now I can't wait!!! Pure Buttery heaven can't come soon enough for me!
  20. I just got back to golf after a 5 year lay off due to wrist injury (I was a 5 handicap then and playing nike Forged Pro Combo Tours). 3 Months ago I bought the titleist 718 AP1 thinking I would get used to the big size but I havent, so Im coming back to smaller irons, thus leaving me with T-200 vs P790. Since I also need forgiveness now. I got to test the T-200s in the weekend and loved them. I ended up pre-ordering them. And since it was at Edwin Watts, if I fall out of love for them during the 90 day period, I can just exchange them for the P790s, in any case.
  21. thanks for the reply! On side note, are you from PR? I just moved to San Antonio from San Juan due to work, Boricua here.
  22. Hi all, Just making this thread so we can discuss the highly coveted T-200s vs New P790s, as I know many people are struggling to see which one to buy (like myself) and hoping everyone that gets to try them both can chime-in on this thread with their feedback and comparison between these 2 sets.
