Congrats testers. I’ve had my shotscope since their promo early this year(last year maybe?). The latest update with strokes gained has been amazing. Only down side I’ve experienced is losing a few tags from my clubs.

I want to know how on earth you have lost ANY tags, let alone a few?  Mine have been in my clubs for years (V2 user) and never had ANY issues whatsoever?  What kind of grips do you have?  And have you bored out the end holes for some reason so the tags don't screw in tight?

Must have me mixed up with someone else.  I'm hitting a Ping G400 Max.  Getting along with it fine.  But, I'm considering others.

Yep, obviously have you mixed up with someone else, and shouldn't have relied on my aging brain, but taken a few extra moments to actually look up the test to confirm.  I just moved from G400 Max that I gamed for a few years, to a TSi2 with the Tensei blue 55 reg flex shaft and found a few extra yards with the same level of forgiveness.  Good luck in your quest !

  2. Good luck fellow spies. Just finished testing (Voice Caddie SL2), so time for others to get in on this one.  Just moved to the TSi2 (from the G400 Max I gamed for years) so need to give that some time in the bag.  Looking forward to the feedback from "the chosen" !

I'm sure the biggest question a lot of these companies face is whether to create a standalone device like the SL2 or to develop a robust phone app that could cover pretty much everything but the rangefinder function.

I'm not sure that the rangefinder function can't be incorporated into a phone.  They have 3 cameras now, and I'd be willing to pay the difference (i.e. the cost of a rangefinder) extra for my phone if that was an option.  Then I've only got one device instead of two.  And it's not like phones are getting any smaller.

Going along with what GolfSpy_APH said, they now have foldable phone screens, so maybe that flip out (larger) screen is the addition to the SL2 that would bring it to life - beyond the limited small circle screen.

    The good:
Easy to shoot the flag stick
Slope function seemed to match up to my previous experiences at the course
Multiple comments from people saying how well put together everything appears

    The not so good:
GPS was having issues switching over to new holes
It randomly shifted from yards to meters during my round
Green undulation did not load for one of the courses
Preset driving ring would frequently show for different holes or be displayed out of the image

    The good:

    - Yardage to the center of the green matched exactly to my Shot Scope V2

    The not so good:

    - Green undulation did not load for one of the courses I play, even though there is a Zero in the box in the list of courses on the VC website (which appears to mean it's active -- to my way of thinking, it would be MUCH clearer to have Y and N in those boxes, or put a LEGEND at the top of the courses chart, to lay out what the entries signify).

    - GPS having issues switching over to new holes

    - Shooting the flag stick was VERY hit and miss.  Based on Shot Scope giving me FMB and seeing where the flag was located on the green, I could tell the yardage was not accurate

As Bucky said, I'll have to determine if it is user error, and I'm part of the problem on shooting flag sticks; or if a different MODE would perhaps help me.

  5. On the penultimate page of the USER MANUAL, under the title CAUTION; item number 6 gives some particularly sage advice -- Be careful not to drop, throw, insert impurities or arbitrarily modify by dismantling or burning the device.

Perhaps common sense isn't so common.  I had REALLY not thought of doing any of those things, but I guess the legal team wanted to "cover" some extra contingencies...

The whole apple only thing is a small drawback

Says the guy who obviously has an IOS product, for whom this will work.  Couldn't be further from the truth for us on the other side.

So I'm curious as to how accurate the data for US courses is and if outdated, how fast does their support react. Do they reply almost immediately like Shot Scope or do emails remain unanswered?

I agree that Shot Scope support is phenomenal.  I contacted them to add the short course that is adjacent to one of the full courses in south San Jose, CA; they responded immediately, and had the mapping for the short course on-line within a couple days !

I think I might be in a great position to add valuable feedback as a putter nerd with a test track

Well, your screen name is certainly apropos !  Envious of your golf equipment budget.  That is QUITE the collection.  I take it you prefer a mallet?😆

  9. I was lucky enough to be selected for a test recently, so will let other spies have a go at this one.  Good luck, and look forward to the feedback.

My only thought is that to really be able to give an assessment on how much this shaft is helping, would be to test against the same spec putter with a standard steel shaft.  Yeah, that increases the cost of the test, but would also give more valid results, IMHO.
