  1. Hey guys and gals! I realize this may not be the best spot for this, but it seemed the most logical. Back in 2018 I, along with a couple of other folks, developed an app for Google Pixel called DUBL. This allowed us simultaneous use of both the front and rear facing cameras on a cell phone. At that time, only Google allowed such a thing. When iPhone released the 11 we were able to take advantage of this same code and move it over to the iOS platform. We launched DUBL a couple of weeks after the launch of the 11 and have other things in the pipeline. I took a video below a few days so that you can see its use. I’m certainly not trying to imply this is to be used 100% of the time, but a cool concept nevertheless. The current app is free on the App Store so please go download and give us your feedback. Thanks in advance for taking a look and helping out a fellow MGS member! EDIT: Forgot to clarify - You’ll need an iPhone newer than the iphoneX for this to work.
  2. Just so we're clear, this is a post about a putter and not about my game....You'll see. For the last few months I've been contemplating getting a new putter. I was playing with a TM Mini spider for about year and for the most part was very happy with how it rolled and the overall performance. Within the past month or so, I've been messing round with other putters at various stores just to see what else is out there. I recently traded in the Mini Spider and bought a TM Ardmore 2 patina. The thing is absolutely gorgeous and feels great. I love the fang style and the old in me really likes that it can pick up a ball. Last night I stopped by a local shop that carries used equipment to buy a different shaft for my driver that they just s happen to have in a staff bag. While they were putting a Callaway sleeve on I spotted a putter that looked somewhat familiar but I haven't seen it in years. It had these crazy bars on it and had grooves that looked like Evnroll grooves. Sure as shite, it was a Rife 2 bar mallet. Ugly as hell. I started putting around with it and was sinking everything. It felt like the Caddyshack priest! I couldn't miss! I thought to myself "surely this thing is a small fortune. They have the keep the lights on" I looked at the price tag...$50 freaking dollars. I looked it up on Google, $200 freaking dollars! Ummm sold! This thing looks fairly new. I had the day off today (lucky me) and went out to a local muni that has some fairly decent greens. First hole, I hit a nice approach. Nothing too amazing. I drain it from about 20 feet for birdie. Alrighty...So the round goes on and I knew I was playing pretty well but I try to never add up my score as I go along. I've psyched myself out too many times doing that. Anyway, I get to 18 and hit a really good drive and knock it to about 15 feet with a nice look at birdie. Make it. Added up the score and to my surprise, I shot my personal best 66. (-5) I guess I'll be taking the Ardmore 2 back for a refund and taking the wife out to a nice dinner with the proceeds. I used the MGS methodology of if you hit something that works while you're shopping just buy the damn thing. Here's hoping this old girl holds together for a while! I'll be on the lookout for a backup soon.
  3. I played in a 4 man best ball tournament yesterday from the Senior tees. 5400 yards. It was a total joke but the money was for charity, so it all worked out. 3 of the 4 in our group were low single digit. The longest we had into a par 4 was 55 yards. The longest shot we had into a par 5 was 145. We drove a couple of par 4s. We finished the day at 51. It was a hell of a lot of fun at least!
  4. Are these suggestions falling on deaf ears?
  5. Go see a doctor! I had a couple of bulging discs and fixed them by foam rolling my lower back and also stretched out my hamstrings every night for 2 months, and continue a few times every week since then. Your back can be hurting for a multitude of reasons.
  6. I was about to post this same thing. PLEASE! For the love of everything holy either get rid of this annoying ass ad, or make it easier to minimize or opt out. It's making your website unreadable!
  7. Completely agree with the list. Randy from Fried Eggs is really damn funny as is Alex Etches. Golfaholics drives me insane. Here's basically the channel in a nutshell. - Big Cat is hitting a shot with coach filming. - Hits shot - Coach "Oh, this looks really good! Starting left turning back over to the pin" Comes up 20 yards short
  8. Played a relatively tough course on Saturday in the morning as to attempt to beat the heat. Still hot as hell, but ended up with a 75. Lots of missed birdie opportunities from well within 10 feet. It's golf.
  9. Very true. I guess I shouldn't get too excited just yet.
  10. I'm just curious if golf courses will charge you a cart fee even if you bring your FinnScooter?
  11. I had a goal of 71 at a local course, but made a bogey on 17 and shot 72. I flat out duffed a chip along the green and missed the long par. Still a good round, but my driver has been amazing the last couple of months and has been leaving me with relatively short shots into holes. I give all credit to Super Speed training HA.
  12. I change equipment fairly often but my Epic 5 wood and driver seem to be standing the test of time so far. I still rock the TM Mini spider. I love that gal.
  13. I suppose we can include the One Length in the discussion if some of you have them, but I purchased an F9 hybrid today after several rounds of testing and confirmed what the numbers were already telling me. I needed a hybrid that was serviceable off the tee on a short par 4, but excelled from the fairway and rough when I have 200+ into the green or to a layup position. I went with the 4 hybrid (21*) and was able to do a nice job flighting the ball down for a little more roll but was also able to hit some moon balls to 200 and stop them quickly. The rails on the bottom do a nice job of both gliding through grass and helping to square up the face a little. Also, the matte finish is really slick. I've owned the F7 for the last couple of years but I was dicking around with the shaft too much and ended up losing confidence in it over the last month. The stock shaft (Fujikura Atmos) is great in the F9. Pro: Look, sound and feel. Very solid feel. Not clicky off the face or high pitched. Very solid sounding. Feels powerful and hot off the face. The only con I can think of is the fixed hosel. I like ability to adjust as needed. Anyway, that's my short review.
  14. Completely random review here, but I did a driver fitting in March of this year at Club Champion and my Epic SZ, which I purchased in 2/17, was on average 3-4 yards less than everything else. I was fitted for my driver when I got it. Kind of amazing all things considered. 3-4 yards is not worth $500+ for a new driver plus fitting.
  15. Steven's Park is fun and cheap. Pecan Hollow (Plano) has great greens but is very busy so try to play as early as possible. Can't help you with the private club.
  16. I played here in March. It was incredible and worth the price of admission.
  17. I started level 2 about three days ago and have noticed quite the difference. I didn't buy a radar, but probably should have. The only downside I've realized is needing to upgrade equipment (shafts) again at Club Champion. I'll wait until I'm finished up next May/June before I upgrade. That'll be $$$$
