  1. I’ve tried the 18birdies AI coach for the past few days. It seems to really hit the nail on the head and identify specific swing faults. The drills seems to be appropriate and helpful. Has anyone else tried this?
  2. I used to have a terrible cupped wrist. During a lesson, the instructor described the feeling I needed to have as twisting a screwdriver. It felt a lot like I had a bowed wrist, but in reality it really was flat, which was the result I was looking for.
  3. Pairs lessons would be interesting. My wife and I had back to back individual lessons in June. I could see that working out well.
  4. I’ve had both. I got more out of a half hour individual lesson than I did in 6 two hour group lessons. The only type of group lesson I would do now would be some type of specialty clinic/workshop format like aimpoint or something like that.
  5. I played the spruce course at Evergreen Resort just outside Cadillac for a scramble on Friday. I liked the course and would play there again. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. I use the 2 3/4 inch step tees. They get me a consistent height every time. One less variable as I’m trying to improve my game. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/pride-sports-2-75-step-golf-tees-50-pack-234steppts50tees/234steppts50tees
  7. I just bought the Cleveland smart sole 4 chipper and love it. I originally was looking for someth8ng a little closer to the Callaway in your picture. I agree there seems to be a stigma among a certain facet of the golf world. I think for the average schmoes out there like me, it’s a club that will help lower scores. More people should carry them.
  8. Maybe it’s only available on the iPhone. I just found it in the iOS App Store by searching “ping.” I’ve tried it with the cradle and it does give some good info. The downside is the weight it puts on your putter.
  9. I don’t know. Won’t the tempo aspect transfer to both swings?
  10. Just to expand a little on this topic, I’m looking at buying an orangewhip. Which is the better purchase, standard 47 inch, or midsize 43 inch?
  11. I’ve both bought and sold on eBay. The big used club stores, like global golf, have eBay seller pages and you can often find clubs cheaper there than on the store site itself. I’ve done that to get good deals yet still have confidence that the seller will back up the purchase. As with anything used, buyer beware. If it’s too good to be true, don’t do it.
  12. Whenever I watch golf on tv, there’s always some idiot that yells, “get in the hole” no matter where on the course the player is hitting from. I won’t miss that.
  13. I’ve had both, but I prefer iPhone now because it works well with my iPad. Years ago I had the same debate with my teenage son. He got a windows phone. He showed me!
  14. I’ve been playing the Bridgestone e6 softs for the last two years. They were discontinued, but I can still find a dozen here and there. I’ve tried numerous balls for the eventual day that my supply runs dry. I’ve settled on the Srixon q-star tour as my replacement ball.
  15. When visibly dirty I take a shot of water out of the bottle I carry and wipe them off with a towel.
  16. I think a big part of golf is the mental aspect of it. Bad shots sometimes happen. If Bryson can’t keep his cool, he won’t get the win. No matter what sport, the players that keep their composure in the face of adversity are the ones that will be successful.
  17. I have the PuttOut mirror. It’s a little pricey, but I had tried a $14 one off amazon and it was warped. This one has the slot as you mentioned. I also can see my shoulders which seems to be what you’re interested in. Good luck!
  18. I’ve recently started putting a line on my golf balls to aid in my putting. It actually seems to be helping. I also use a small plastic ball mark and a wondering if I can draw a line on this as well and use it to help align the ball. That way I’d have the line on the ball and the mark behind the ball to get the correct position. As long as I pick up the mark before I putt, is this legal?
  19. In a nine hole round, 5 fairways, 4 GIR's, not more than 1 three put.
  20. I've had great results with this app on my iPhone8. I set it up so it's less than a foot off the ground on a small tripod. It's 4 feet behind the ball and 1 foot in front. I'm outside hitting into a net for the most part and the numbers seem pretty close to what I would expect for distance on each club. I did hit a few shots into a field with an 8 iron and the result was within 2 or 3 yards as shot by my laser after I walked out to the ball. The weather has really sucked lately, but when it warms up a little more, I'm planning on doing some more testing for distance. It would be great if
  21. I'm really looking for some way to help get something towards improvement out of a range session. For example, I hit 80 balls the other day and tried to break it down between clubs. I felt like my irons were rockin, but my driver, not so much. My misses seemed to be all over the page. My focus going into the session was to work on keeping my left wrist flat, so I'm sure that was part of it. I'm looking for a way to gauge improvement over the winter. (please don't say judge it on the course, I'm looking at two inches of snow right now.)
  22. Does anyone track their range sessions and if so, what data do you track? I've been wanting to target my practice a little more and am thinking if I somehow track each shot, it'll not only slow me down so i don't just hammer a bucket down range, but also track if what I'm actually doing actually yields results. I was thinking having some type of sheet to note club, fat, thin, slice, hook, straight, and maybe a note on what change I was trying on that shot. Thanks!
  23. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? My Uncle introduced me to golf in the early 80s as a kid. I was never any good and only played 2-3 times per year. In the past few years I started playing in more charity scrambles and have had a lot of fun. Last year I started getting more serious and this past summer I played about 50 rounds and another dozen charity outings. I don't have an official handicap, but my swingxswing app says I'm an 18.5. What do you love about golf? It's a break from work and something to focus energy on. I love b
