Battery seems good. It’s gone 54 holes for me on a single charge and still wasn’t totally dead.

Northwood in Monte Río, CA. Greens were shaggy but it’s awe inspiring playing next to the giant trees. They are not 90% air hehe.

Played a sixth different course today with the SkyCaddie. I’ve played the course a time before but not super familiar with it. On unfamiliar courses the SkyCaddie is a mix of Bagger Vance and Jonny 5 from “Short Circuit”. I have found the distances to be accurate and that has helped me focus on visualizing the shot shape instead of guessing yardage and looking for landmarks. Navigating the device remains a bit clunky but what matters is the numbers are right on the money. This has helped me dial in what clubs go how far and when to hit what club. More to come with more testing...I will be using this in a tournament next week.

Test number two, nine holes at another unfamiliar course. I start feeling comfortable with navigating the hole and green view, cursor, and keeping score. I know my numbers on my irons and I trusted in the SkyCaddie 100% today, and it paid off. One example was a 135yd par three with a forced carry over the bunker in front to reach a tucked pin. I measured the carry distance to clear the bunker at 130yds and the flag at about 135. Stock PW for me. Ended up pin high and about 10 feet left, two putted like a boss for my par. I like threes. I got a good number and the device did it’s job, which freed me up to go unconscious and just have fun, hit my stock shot and get a good result, this time. Another example from today was on the ninth hole from the left rough at about, you guessed it, 135. Another bunker to carry in front to reach a tucked pin. Measured it and it was darn near the shot I had just hit earlier at the par three. Hit my stock baby draw PW to six feet and made the birdie put to get back to even on the round. Very fun! I like threes! I’m liking the SkyCaddie so far. More testing to come and I’m going to dig deeper into the features in SkyGolf360 and syncing it for stats. I always track putts so I like that feature of the score keeping in the SC400. PS It’s helpful to have a graphic of the hole overview when you don’t know the course and want to keep the ball in play, the SC400 definitely helped me navigate a new course off the tee as well as on approach shots. PSS I still don’t know where to put this thing. I joined a guy playing in a cart today and mostly kept it in the cup holder and would walk it to my ball then either leave it on the ground by my shot or walk it back after I got the number and selected my club. I also don’t know what to do with my hands.

Played my first round (9 holes) with the SkyCaddie today. I used the cursor to check trouble spots on my tee shots. I looked at the width of the fairway on the screen and verified carry length to keep my ball in play. For approach shots I adjusted the cursor to reflect the pin position and get as accurate a yardage possible. I found the device to be helpful and very accurate. It was easy to move the cursor around the green to the pin locations and helpful to know how many steps from the edge of the green and where the back and front of the green are. I was confident with the distances the SkyCaddie was showing and the only issue was me being a little right or left, but I would say this device helped me get pin high which is my goal. I also used the score feature to keep track of my shots. I found it to be a little clunky but after some practice it wasn’t bad. This device proved to be very accurate and a helpful tool on the course. Very simple to use and with some practice the buttons and layout were manageable. I never got comfortable with where to store the device during my round, I don’t want to keep it in my pocket or on my belt so I ended up clipping it on my bag. looking forward to trying my home course and seeing how my distances check out since today I played a course I only play periodically and don’t know the yardages well.

My Sky Caddie SX 400 arrived and I had no problem registering, syncing it, and updating the courses I play most frequently. Its all charged and ready for my fairways to dry out a bit here in Northern California. I attached it to the top of my bag via the belt clip and will report back on how easy it is to see from the bag, versus picking up and putting it down for every shot. I think the “large number” setting could be a good application for when I just want to leave it hooked onto the bag and look down to get a number. Obviously won’t be as accurate as holding it and selecting a tiny target and getting the number. Going to have fun trying this out in different ways. The main questions I want to answer are: 1)Does this help me shoot a lower number? 2)Does this help me have more fun? Will report back after my first round, soon!

I am a five handicap who has the intention of getting to scratch by 2021. My struggle has been accuracy off the tee but it’s gotten a lot better. My strengths are the scoring clubs and putting. ● I play in and around Sonoma county, CA. If my playing partner had a range finder I would get my number in my own head then ask him how close I was, usually within a few yards. First Impressions The SkyCaddie arrived and I had no problem setting it up, loading in my “Favorite” courses, updating it, and getting it charged and ready to hit the course. It’s about the size of an original iPhone but a bit thicker. It feels durable and sturdy. The interface felt a bit clunky and not as easy to navigate as a modern phone but still responsive enough to get the job done. I attached the belt clip and threw it in my bag. Grading Looks & Feel 8/10 Describe the following for the device: ● it’s like a chunky first generation iPhone ● the main feature I customized was the “Favorites” option so my most frequently played courses appeared quickly ● solid build quality that seems like it will last a long time ● case is decent, nothing special Setup 15/15 Quick and easy to set up. Fairly quick to charge and I was able to get roughly 72 holes on a single charge although they recommend charging after every round. Cable is a mini usb type. Accuracy 15/15 ● Yardages are spot on. Compared with people using range finders and also using phone apps. This was such an asset and I felt like the SkyCaddie did its job perfectly. I used it in places with no cell signal and the phone apps of my playing g partners didn’t work. Also helped me dial my numbers in on my clubs. On-Course 27/30 ● Didn’t have to do anything special to use the product, turn it on and it’s easy from there. ● It didn’t mess with my normal routine. ● It was intuitive to use on the course. ● I loved using it and thought the name was perfect because I’d get done with a round at a new golf course and feel like I really had a caddie with me! The overhead full hole view helps with blind shots and hazards that are easy to see. Super useful tool when playing a new course. ● I will never go back to only using the on course landmarks and markers for yardages. ● I am a better golfer with the help of this product. Miscellaneous 5/10 I never knew where to put this thing during a round. The clip fell off my bag and I lost this thing twice, luckily it was given back both times!! Play it or Trade it? 10/20 I’m torn because I love this tool but would never spend $300 on it, even if I should. I’ve been made aware of free phone apps that come close to doing the same job as this, albeit there are certain drawbacks. I’m definitely going to play it, but don’t see myself buying it on my own. Conclusion The SkyCaddie is all it’s name suggests, an on the course helper from heaven. This thing is a huge asset when playing a new course or even at your usual track. It helped me dial in my distances in a real on course setting and get my approach shots closer. It helps you make smarter decisions off the tee by giving you a birds eye view of where you can get into trouble. However, at $300 plus a paid subscription I’m not sure I would fork that dough over though considering the free apps out there that do a similar, yet less than perfect job. That being said I cherish this new tool in my golf bag and the confidence it gives you just might be worth the money. It frees you up to just see it and do it, knowing you have a good yardage, or at least a caddie to blame if not. Final Score: 80/100

Been a good golf year and I’m getting pumped for next year. For now it’s clean the clubs and practice putting in the garage. Curious to see if anyone plays or has opinions about my clubs. TS3 is working great, I have it in A1 hosel and neutral weight setting. Had the M6 briefly but couldn’t hit it consistently. I feel like I can shape this TS3 like an iron.

This is what felt best and had the best numbers on the launch monitor. Never hit a driver better than the g410lst.
