Manimal26 got a reaction from BNewton51 in 2nd Swing Experience?
@Ultimate Junior Golfer 2nd swing is the trade in partner for club champion... that should tell you all you need to know... if it doesn’t here it is plain in simple trades provide the highest margin for shops they buy clubs cheaper than they do from the OEM and mark it up like you are getting a deal (newer models)... if they are older they buy for pennies on the dollar and mark it up even crazier and will put them on purpose next to more expensive clubs so it looks like a killer deal...if budget is no concern go ahead... but maybe try listing here in the BST... or eBay as others have mentioned... all of these places give you as little as possible cash more for a trade so your stuck buying from them...

Manimal26 got a reaction from DannyN in Nippon Modus players, question for you guys
@bens197 I never really took golf this seriously until about a year ago. Some personal things happened before then and I was limited in activity and golf became my only out. I played D1 college hockey and I was always known as a gear head or in golf terms a tinker... I knew everything about every stick /skate / etc and what would work for people... Long story short I spent way to much money for the worst fitting and that coupled with my health/personal situation i turned to what I did with hockey and I started to learn everything I could about the equipment from the good bad and ugly. My first investment I was determined to make count even if the clubs performance would not. I went to every demo day spent money and time with the fitters in my area, learned how to utilize launch monitor data, networked with the industry, spent a ton on money on eBay, and gained knowledge that I lacked so I could never be taken advantage of by a fitting studio again. Taught myself how to build clubs and purchased all the fitting equipment so I could test and test and test some more.
I know it does sound like a lot of honeymoon speak, and I will always say play what feels and gives you the results that you want. But when it comes to spending my hard earned money an OEM uses a S200 shaft that weighs anywhere from 122g to 132g and charges you $$$ to go to a DGTI S400/ modus/ etc so they can increase their margin's I say they can pound sand. Now when looking at clubs I check what they are offering at no up charge and if it is the club that fits me best with horrible shady shaft offerings (TaylorMade Ventus comes to mind) then Ill wait till I can snag a deal make a trade or find the answer guy outside of the PGA store and offer him cash before he gets robbed on a trade 😆...
I do not know the sales % or stats but a majority of people I feel buy off the rack and they buy what is popular on tour and marketed well. Best example I can think of is a Vokey SM8 vs. Mizuno T20. Vokey head is cast (cheaper production) Mizuno is Forged (expensive). Vokey uses the same cast for 46/48 50/52 54/56 58/60/62 and just bends them for each grind. Mizuno does not since they are forged hence less choices. Vokey uses S200 and slaps their sticker on it cost is around $6. Mizuno uses DGTI s400 a $40 shaft (not sure their cost) but has other no charge options of equal quality. SM8 $169 v. Mizuno T20 $150.... SM8 w/ DGTI S400 or Nippon $219... so if I can spread some knowledge like that example some data or wisdom from my failures and help anyone gets the best for their $$$ then maybe just a little that huge pile of cash I shelled out has not gone to waste...
The same Nippon shaft you me or anyone has we could test against one off the tour van and they would match up. The same can not be said about True Sports Products (DG & PX) and KBS. That quality speaks volumes to the company and that they care about the golfer on the other end.
I will get off the soap box for a bit, but hopefully this helps some people...

Manimal26 got a reaction from B_R_A_D_Y in 2020 Official Member Review: BirdieBall PuttUp
Today my putt up arrived. I had to take my dog to daycare because although I measured out an area the mat is much bigger than you think once you get it. I got it built and moved to the garage so I can start practicing tomorrow and getting a feel for it.
Here is everything that came inside the box laid out in my entry way. Thought this would be a good place, but as you will see I had to move the bench and the table that is behind me.
Here is it built and resting. The instructions said you need to brush the green so the roll is pure. Once I built it and brushed it I left it alone for 4 hours or so, but it was just to tempting so I did take a few rolls to test out something I will be doing during my review.
If you notice the tri-pod in the back it is for me to film myself, and analyze my stroke and the rolls among some other things. I also added a shot tracer for some entertainment value. I will get better at using the shot tracer and YouTube as my testing progresses. This was the first video I have ever uploaded and I am sure not on the level of #NOPUTTSGIVEN, but any help or feedback or even things you want me to try during my testing I am all ears and willing.
Now it is in its new home for the time being. This should give you some scale since it takes up a large part of the garage. I laid a tarp down just to help keep it clean and it is now resting and waiting for me to use tomorrow. Once I get a feel over the next couple of days I will have an idea of what kinds of drills and practice routine I will be doing.
I will be doing all my testing and practice with my EVNROLL ER 1.2 since I traded @Will_the_thrill my spider X (hope it is working out). I still come back to this putter after trying things out over and over and I am just going to stick with it. @Hotdocta maybe we will be putter twins again one day. Here are a few photos of my flat stick.

Manimal26 got a reaction from Senior Champ in Tour AD XC vs Tour AD BB
@Eagleputt2008 I had the bb 6x in my M3 switched to a g410 with various shafts and was a horrible experiment for me... so I am back with TM and this go around it’s the 6x XC... Could not order the TX version through TM since they don’t stock it and did not bother checking on a price... that being said it is no way shape or form softer than the BB at the same weight and flex. They added TORAYCA MX40 pre-preg and TORAYCA T1100G NANOALLOY pre-preg in the mid and tip regions for increased stability and feel. Over all when you look at it from an E/I perspective the butt section and tip section are stiffer than the BB while mid section remains the same... XC stands for extra carry and it does have some pop... still compared to other low spin shafts it’s relatively soft handle like the BB... it has all the legendary feel of the BB with all the Benefits of modern technology... it will be a little tighter dispersion for you hopefully and a little jump in carry... honestly it was so good I replaced the BB 7x with the XC 7x in my 3W

Manimal26 got a reaction from hartrick11 in Nippon 105 vs 120
Also here is some Nippon information for you...
Protos I know of:
E11 - Heavier side, similar to Tour125 IMO. Has a nice kick, low/mid flight, Mid spin. I have a stiff in my 3i gamer. Maybe north of 130.
2S14 - Heaviest out there, 136-138g, based on Tour125 with extra stiff handle & tip. Low launch and Low spin
C10 - Very similar to 2S14 IMO but slightly lighter and slightly less stiff. A beefy Tour125, maybe a touch more kick than 2S14. This is my gamer in my wedges in Stiff
2T15 - Often see this in titleists or from the UK, I have not hit it but seems to be similar to 125. I wondered it was a newer version of the 105T shaft, but I don't know much on this one.
2F15 - Lighter shaft I think in the 115/118 ish, higher launch and spin than Tour 105 but more like older 1050 shaft IMO.
DP - Proto to the retial Tour120
ORA - Modus version of Super Peening Orange. Mid launch / mid spin, like a tigher tour125 IMO. This is my gamer 4-PW.
ST - Proto to the retail Tour105
2G18 - Proto to the retail Tour130. I currently have a single S and X but games Stiffs for over a year.
LSL - Lower spin & launch but to me is a cross between tour 105 & tour 125. Closer to a Tour105 IMO. (I think these became the new Modus 115)
LSL2 - A stepless LSL, unsure of any performance changes to LSL (currently own a set of X.)
A - Stepless version of retail Tour125. IMO it has a bit more kick but also a different feel at impact. I hit it once at the PGA show but have seen some on ebay.
125TX - A proto of the retail 125X but in TX. I owned a set, was amazingly stiff, like DGX7 with a touch more mid kick but stiffer tip section.
3N14 - Little info available but was told it is a typical profile with player requested tweaks. My guess is very similar to Tour125 but with some very minimal tweak to stiffness of mid section or tip. Mid kick, mid weight.
C10: I can not remember off the top of my head
Regarding the prototype models on tour- they really are prototypes, in that changes are made in reaction to the player testing, and if a prototype model version performs well, that particular prototype version may "graduate" to become a MODUS3 model available for sale. However, it is difficult to list all the prototype models and their specifications, as they are moving through a process of change.
I have been able to hit many of the different models, some prototypes, and as a fitter, I think all of the current models are great, and I am guessing that the "prototype journey" is a part of why these current 4 MODUS3 models work so well.
