  1. I use to be strictly a wooden tee user mostly due to that most local courses give them for free with the carts. I always grabbed a few extra on tee box's as I found them and have amassed more than a few dozen in my bag. Just recently I came across the "Tornado Tee" and decided to give it a try. I honestly am impressed with its durability, after over 500 tee shots it shows almost no sign of wear. I don't lose it because it stays in the ground after the tee shot. I have noticed improvement on dispersion, distance I cannot verify as I don't track that and have not really done any comparison. I will continue to use it for the time being and see if straighter drives help improve my scoring.
  2. 1. Have you purchased any golf products based on MyGolfSpy reviews? The golf ball reviews have helped me in selection. It introduced me DTC brand balls that I have found to be very good at an affordable price. Snell and Vice are now regularly in my bag. 2. How has MyGolfSpy changed the way you think about golf equipment? I use to get most of my information on equipment from Golf Digest and other similar publications. I find MGS to be more in depth and frankly, honest in their reviews. I now have a mixed bag of clubs, based on how they work for me. 3. Have these purchases lowered your scores? I wouldn't say they lowered my scores but have help make my game more consistent. My short game has improved due to looking at wedges from a different point of view. Mizuno is my go to club manufacturer for wedges. 4. How have these purchases helped you enjoy the game more? I have more confidence in my clubs which translates to a more relaxed, free swing. I enjoy the better ball striking and ultimately enjoy the over all game even more.
  3. For me, it really depends on flag location and where the trouble is located. Typically for a back pin I am free to swing away with the shorter club, no fear of going long into trouble. If the pin is front, then error room is long so I choke down on the longer club, about a 1/2 inch to take off 8 yards and take a normal swing. If the pin is middle, then where the safe bail out is located will dictate my club selection.
  4. I like a straight cut on torpedo's and use a punch on everything else.
  5. Samsonite is correct, keep the driver, spend some money on some basic lessons. Your club speed is plenty to see a 250 to 270 carry with 290 yard drives. Your path is ok at 0.09 in to out, the glaring issue I see is the negative 5.7 angle of attack (aoa) but with out seeing the swing in person or on video it is impossible to know if that is due to swing, ball position, tee height or a combination of those. With that club head speed you probably want to have a positive 8 to 12 degrees aoa. That would decrease your spin and probably give you 25 to 30 more yards. Start with some basic lessons, make sure your fundamentals of grip, stance, posture and ball position are correct. Then go from there, you will see improvements.
