Training aid just popped up on my instagram and looks like it might be semi useful for some of the things I'm working on. Has anyone made one? It looks pretty simple to pull off with a drill press.

Thanks

I dont see studio fitting mentioned there, the prices listed on the stores website suggest its not a free fitting
-
The new store opened and they don't list a van fitting they have something they call a studio fitting. Does anyone know the difference?

Really interested to hear all about it. I'm trying to decide where to get fitted this spring and they're opening up a store this weekend about an hour from me. Sent from my SM-G960U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

I finally got outside yesterday for a few swings. I had used the planemate a little bit in the spring got away from it over the summer but have hit it hard the last two months. I dont have access to a driving range and it was getting dark here so all I could do was maybe a dozen swings on the first fairway. My iron contact was inconsistent so I cant comment on that but wow was my driving straight with a slight draw. I definitely have to change my point of aim. Distance seemed to be down a little bit but the wind was really blowing so its hard to tell. Sent from my SM-G960U using MyGolfSpy mobile app -

I havent noticed a huge difference in distance since I started using it. I'm still struggling with getting some of the feels right but I cant imagine getting that much longer with an iron. Maybe when I get the feels down with a driver ill see that. -
I have the same problem as you guys sometimes more like 15 degrees from in to out and usually either send the ball straight right or hook it. I had tried standing closer and taller last year and it worked great on the range and into a net yet for some reason as soon as I took that swing to the course I was too close to the ball and well you know it was off the hosel... Too close and too in to out was a recipe for disaster for me. Sent from my SM-G960U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

I did a quick search here didn't see an answer and haven't been able to find it in any of the protocols. What club are you guys using with the long band? I'm using a 5hybrid because its what I have with me. It's not practical for me to bring the whole bag back and forth so I leave it at the course. Unofficial Review: Skillest App (golf lessons)
Patriots68 replied to dlow206's topic in Member Reviews
How do you guys who use skillest decide which swing videos to send in? I've been thinking about it for a while now but most of my practice is into a net so its hard for me to decide which swings produce good results and which ones produce my common misses, the big misses I can tell but I'm looking for more consistency in my swing, and avoiding the big misses more than anything else. I've been looking into some type of online instruction for a while now and have looked at a couple of guys on skillest. Ideally I'd like to take lessons in person but I've had a hard time finding someone in my area who is consistently available especially year to year. Any one try any of the other instructors? -

Thanks for the drills. I've always struggled with getting stuck inside. I'll have to really concentrate on not letting the band pull me inside. I'm slightly confused on the cupping do you mean I'm cupping the right or left wrist? I've struggled in the past with cupping the left one and after thousands of swings with a skillz smart glove thought I wonder if that bad habit is setting back in. Jeff -

Thanks Guys here are a few quick videos I shot of me. It seems like I'm snapping the band over a lot on the full swings and am launching the ball way to the right on all of the swings. I am someone who often has a hard time getting a certain feel or being able to make my body do what a pro tells me to do in past lessons. https://youtube.com/shorts/hhZ1FrG2i1s https://youtube.com/shorts/Dff81qmLBaU https://youtube.com/shorts/3uwifi_e7wQ Hopefully you guys can see these im very limited with my internet speed and reliability right now. I've been struggling with this as well since I started using the long band but I feel like my problem might be different. I seem to either roll the band over or I leave the club face well open at impact. Even at slow speed I struggle to relax the club and get the clubface closed at impact without flipping it. Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong? -
Raptor Bay is always in great shape and very fun. If you're playing well you can go low and if you're playing bad its hard to get beat up.

Virtual lessons
Patriots68 replied to Nolan220's topic in Lessons, Drills, Mental Game, and Fitness Tips
Id be curious as to who you guys are using or who you would recommend other than the biggest names. I have a hard time finding an instructor in my area who is consistently available and I also spend more than half of my time away from home playing but not having access to an instructor. I was told by one of the pros I took lessons from that it was always like 3 steps forward and then 2 back because of it. I'm looking more for someone who can help me eliminate the big misses as a high handicapper. -
I don't know if it would help or hurt in my case, I expect overspeed training would hurt as I struggle to control the club face sometimes, I definitely struggle with weight shift at times. Unfortunately for me I am away for work for months at a time and get a lot of time to hit into nets and get to play an executive course from time to time but when I am home family demands limiting my playing and especially practice time so its tough to get in the benefit of lessons. These aren't that expensive so I might try to pick up a set and try them out. I just hate to waste practice time as it's pretty valuable to me.

I'm kinda wondering how much this will help a more average speed swinger. Will they actually gain yards or because their mechanics aren't as sound will it just produce more wild swings.

Golf Net Drills
Patriots68 replied to JDP's topic in Training Aids, GPS Devices, Apps, Accessories & More!
How are you using it as a target to chip and pitch to? My short game needs a lot of work and this seems like it would work for technique but I really need to work on distance control. Any tips you guys can share would be appreciated. -
I play the vast majority of my golf just below the equator so its always hot and sticky. I also sweat like the fat kid that I am. I have had a problem with a glove falling apart but have tried switching gloves out with limited succes. What have found that works great for keeping my hands dry https://www.amazon.com/All-Sport-Topical-Antiperspirant-Non-Slip-Enhancement/dp/B0015R4AUS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=grip+tite+2&qid=1604937483&sr=8-3

Great little course played here with my dad and brother during ryder cup week when it was at Gleneagles. It was overcast and drizzled most of the round till 8 then we played the last two holes in a downpour. We used their rental clubs so it was impossible to score well but who cares it was so much fun. We took the ferry from there to Skye and had the best oysters ive ever had behind the Talisker distillery. Grew up spending my summers on cape cod so we got spoiled eating good oysters and these were much better.

This makes me wish I got to play more this fall. Oh well maybe in the sping
