  1. The only hole-in-one/albatross I had was on a short par 4.I didn't see it but my teammates and opposing team did. So yeah, I feel cheated out of the celebration as it isn't as exciting to walk up to the green looking for your ball to then have a teammate casually tell you it went as it would have been to see it go in. Still cool though.
  2. I played Alondra GC (Torrance, CA) on Monday and the conditions weren't good (though it's a muni and the conditions aren't normally all that amazing). It seems as though no maintenance was done during the stay at home order. Though it was nice to see that people were largely adhering to social distancing guidelines and wearing masks, it would have been great if they had taken the time to aerate the course. How are conditions at your club and are people following the rules?
  3. Since people after me got badges, I figured I'd try this again. @GolfSpy MPR Hi! Please add the, Hole in 1 and Albatross badge. I also recently became a donor.

  5. Yeah! I was 18 and it was a short par 4, 325 yards, with a small dogleg to the right. I just cut over the trees and it went into the hole! Definitely the best of both worlds
  6. Out with a 50 in with a 32. It was a roller coaster ride that day.
  7. Nailing a 3 wood perfectly onto a par 5 in two. That's the best. But really just hitting a shot exactly like you planned it amazing every single time.
  8. Your "good find" sounds suspiciously like stealing
  9. What kind of peasant plays in jeans ... No but seriously, it can get really hot walking around in jeans. I think if people are going for comfort they should wear shorts. I'm accustomed to slacks and short or long sleeve polos. I throw in a straw hat, Aussie hat, or bucket hat with some shades too. When it gets really warm I'll rock shorts, but that's rare.
  10. Isn't kinesthetic and tactile the same thing?
  11. That's good to hear! I played Victoria in Carson the day before everything was shutdown and it was in horrendous shape. The fairways are by far the worst I've ever seen, basically akin to playing on dirt and mud. With the shutdown ordered the next day, I felt like I asked for week old french fries for my last meal before getting executed.
  12. Yes, this is really important imo. I made sure to shell out extra dough to have my putter swingweights match since I really got a new putter. I always cut down my shafts to 30 inches so the swing weight is very different with the shorter shaft, since putters are generally 33-35 inches in length, unless lead tape or tungsten powder is used. I prefer lead tape under the grip for adjusting the swing weight and I absolutely hate lead tape anywhere on the putter head.
  13. I have a SuperStroke 3.0 on my new putter and Winn Dri-Tac Jumbo Pistol Lite on my old putter (before I decided to buy something else). The SS feels a little odd, I think I prefer the Winn and will probably regrip my new putter to that once the plague passes on. I find that the putter head moves a lot with the SS, on center hits, and it might be due to the grip being so big I am not able to apply enough grip pressure while avoiding tension in my wrists. More practice is needed and my putting matt is only 10 feet long so I need to practice some longer putts to be sure, but I can only imagine the problem will exacerbate with a longer and firmer stroke.
  14. MGS just posted a net review that might be a good idea to check out. One problem with a net is the lack of feedback on your ball flight. Unless you have flight monitor you could make your swing worse since you could be practicing the wrong thing over and over again without realizing it.
  15. This was best part. It gave you another chance to redeem your decision and use a better ball.
  16. Second. Felt like I was hitting rocks.
  17. Push cart is much easier to handle. I like walking a golf course but carrying a bag for 18 holes is a lot on someone's back at any age. I decided to buy a CaddyTek Caddy Cruiser One ($159 on Amazon) and I loved it for all of the one round I got play before covid-19 shut us down. I was much looser for my swings and it was a much more relaxing round. I tried a few hand carts and I can say that a four wheel cart is much easier to maneuver than a three wheel cart.
  18. There still playing up there??? Here in LA we're all locked up. Pretty sad since the air here has been as clean as I've ever experienced in my 35 years here.
  19. California is on lockdown. I thought about going to another state and then thought a little harder and realized that was crazy. Golf on my PS4 for the time being along with wearing out my putting mat.
  20. I haven't play Rancho in a long time. It was a short course but it was always in really good condition, is it still that way now?
  21. Honestly, I would buy the HB and spend the savings on customizing the length, lie, and grip so you can have a perfectly fit putter. When I competed I would play with more expensive putters but now I rather just buy a putter that has a great feel and doesn't cause sticker shock.
  22. Putting is all feel, and if you feel like your putter is embarrassing to display it will absolutely effect your putting. It doesn't have to look good to someone else, just in your mind.
  23. I'm really anxious to try these out. As soon as the black death ends I plan on trying their demo program, hopefully for the new Icons. I'm really for something affordable that'll let me get back to scratch.
