  1. I am fortunate enough to have some flexibility of schedule at work, and so from April - October, (golf season here in upstate NY) I go to work at 5:00 am and am teeing off by 2:00 pm, every nice day Monday - Friday. I also play early on Saturday and Sunday.
  2. I came up with 53 brands across 14 categories. as with other posts, there is no particular order here. Drivers - MacGregor, TaylorMade, TourEdge, Cobra, Mizuno, Bobby Jones, Liquid Metal, Titleist Fairways - MacGregor, Taylormade, TourEdge, Mizuno, Stan Thompson, Bobby Jones, Adams, Yamaha Hybrids - Tour Edge, Bobby Jones, Titleist Irons - Toney Penna, Ping, PowerHouse, Wilson Staff, Miura, Mizuno, TaylorMade, TourEdge Wedges - MacGregor, Wilson, Cleveland, Miura, Mizuno, Edel, TourEdge, Edison, Scratch, Putters - Titleist, Ping, Odyssey, Evnroll, Bettinardi, TaylorMade, Guerin Rife Utility Clubs - TourEdge, Cleveland, PXG Balls - Titleist, Bridgestone, Maxfli, Tour Edition, Molitor, Pinnacle, Callaway, OnCore, Vice, Snell, TaylorMade Bags - Burton, Cobra, Sun Mountain, Titlelist, Mizuno, Ogio, Vessel Gloves - FootJoy, Titleist, Callaway, Bionic, Greg Norman, Mizuno, Zero Friction, Wilson, TaylorMade, Srixon, Bridgestone, Red Rooster Shoes - FootJoy, Bostonian, Ecco, True, Skechers, Duca Del Cosma, Etonic, Royal Albatross, Bally GPS - Golf Buddy, Garmin, Samsung Tees - Champ Rain Gear - FootJoy, Walter Hagan, Helly Hanson I feel confidant that there were some that I have forgotten, but I have been at this for 50 years or so. In looking over the list, I'm pretty sure that only one of those came with buyers remorse. (hint: it's in the Driver list)
  3. This list is ever changing, and I feel certain that it will change again in September when I travel to Ireland to play. As things stand today however, my list is as follows: 1) Quaker Ridge Scarsdale, NY 2) Maidstone East Hampton, NY 3) Baltusrol (lower) Springfield, NY 3) Pinehurst #2 Pinehurst, NC 5) Torrey Pines (south) La Jolla, CA 6) Mid Pines Pinehurst, NC 7) Ocean Course Kiawah Island, SC 8 Deepdale Manhassett, NY 9) Harbor Town Hilton head, SC 10) Firestone (south) Akron, OH I have said that if you told me I could only play a single course for the rest of my days, I would choose Quaker Ridge.
  4. I was a dedicated Mizuno elite guy for a very long time. I used to get 6-8 rounds out of a glove I tried Red Rooster last year, and found them to both more comfortable and much more durable. I alternated 2 Red Roosters for the last 2 1/2 months of the season (20 plus rounds) with no issues. They are both still in good enough shape to be "range" gloves.
  5. I got a 3 wedge set (51,55,59) from Edison in April of 21. I used them all year and they never disappointed. When it's time to replace them, I will be ordering Edison again. I ordered them at the height of the supply chain crisis and inquired if I could put a rush on the order to have them for a golf trip a was taking. Bill from Edision called me directly, and overnighted them to me at no extra charge. The wedges look great and perform great. They are extremely forgiving so I generally get away with any mis-hits and I get great results through-out the year in all conditions. Edison is all about quality and customer service. I honestly can't say enough good things about them.
  6. We played both courses on the same day in late April. We found the conditioning on the Gold to be superior to the Green. The temperature then was in the low 90's and is forecast to be around that on the 4th. You are looking at close to 9 hours in overbearing heat with humidity in the 80 - 90% range. We were drinking 1-2 bottles of water \ gatorade per hole during the afternoon round, and were struggling to stay hydrated. So my best advice is that whenever you have an opportunity to buy water \ gatorade, buy as much as you can carry.
