  1. I misread that, will not be checking out McCormick. Lol.
  2. This sounds awesome. I was fortunate enough to do this just last year and I can tell you the experience I had and what I did. As far as conditioning goes, I think you’re on track. I did a bit of jump roping nightly to keep the legs going but at your age not sure if that’s an option for you. I would also recommend making sure you have good insoles in your shoes. The one thing that really surprised me is how firm their turf actually is compared to ours (I am also from the northeast). the rain gear is good, I was lucky enough to barely get any rain while I was there. Make sure you have some proper layers though. I had some warmer quarter zips and layered those with a rain jacket or wind breaker on the outermost layer with no issues. Also wearing the rain pants just to break the wind helps keep you warm as well. We stayed in a small B&B about 300yds from the old course so we were able to walk all around the town. I had a good pair of spikeless golf shoes which I was able to wear everywhere I went without having to worry about putting sneakers back on so that’s something to think about. If you plan on playing more, St. Andrews does a 3 day or 5 day golf ticket where you can play unlimited golf on those days (which don’t have to be consecutive). We did this and it ended up being a rather inexpensive way to play all the courses (other than the old course which costs are separate). If you don’t mind it a little chilly, playing first thing in the morning worked well for us as he Scottish do not seem to be early risers. If you want any more details about the trip we did or experiences we had feel free to message and I’ll happily help you out.
  3. Sweet. Appreciate it. First couple days I got a buddy coming out so we’re scheduled for Stonecreek, Rancho Manana and legends trail. I’ll check out McCormick for sure when he leaves and I’m on my own. Thanks guys
  4. I’ve had the Garmin r10 for about a year and a half and love it. I have it set up for an at home simulator and use it multiple times a week with no issues.
  5. I’m heading to Scottsdale mid April for about a week. Going with the wife and her sister so I plan on golfing on my own for most of the week. I’ve been a few times already so I know all the big courses and have played most of them but playing by myself I’m not looking to drop that kind of money. Anyone know if any area courses that are a good deal/offer LEO discounts? Thanks in advance
  6. Why not just go get fitted and let the professional club fitter tell you which shaft to get?
  7. I went a slightly different route. I use a super game improvement 4-iron with a graphite shaft to use as a “driving iron”. It’s as consistent as any club I have in the bag and absolute weapon off the tee.
  8. This is an awesome concept. I’ve actually never tried a callaway driver. Played taylormade for years and currently playing Titleist TSi3 that I got fit for while on a golf trip about 3 years ago. Guess I should start being more active in here?
  9. Had a trip to Scotland early this year so I started walking leading up to that and haven’t looked back. Will ride occasionally if the course is real hilly
  10. Driver: Titleist fairway wood: Titleist driving iron: PXG (started with Titleist hybrid) irons: PXG (currently waiting for my new MIZUNO set to arrive) wedges: Titleist Vokey putter: Titleist Scotty Cameron balls: Titleist glove: Footjoy bag: Ogio Shoes: Nike, Adidas, Sqairz
  11. I built myself one. Took a super game improvement 4 iron (around 19* of loft) with a tour ad-di hybrid shaft to replace my hybrid and it’s been extremely consistent and easy to hit all season for me. With the jacked lofts of the super game improvement clubs these days it’s an easy transition
  12. Driver: Titliest Tsi3 (8*) fujikura ventus black 7x 3w: PXG 0341, Mitsubishi kuro Kage tx 70g Hybrid: PXG 0317, Aldila nv 2kxv blue x90g utility: new level 4995hb Mitsubishi MMT 100g irons: PXG 0311 4-G(gen 1) DG tour S400 wedges: vokey sm7 56* and 60* putter: Scotty special select Newport
  13. Many drivers are $550 and upgraded shafts can be $300+. With upgraded options and taxes you can definitely spend upwards of $900.
