  1. I’m solidly on the fence: I buy Kirkland gloves and use them exclusively for all practice/range sessions.... When I get to the 1st tee out comes the Titleist player’s glove. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. @middler Nothing worse than feeling ripped off after a major investment: I was gonna say you have 90 days to return it, but my question is, when did you get fitted? Had you already played that day? Was it early in the season and you hadn’t found your “real” swing yet? I just got my custom shaft from CC after a 7 week wait, and my 1st round was terrible: I was spraying it just as badly as my old shaft. My buddy pointed out that he noticed my head moving more than usual, and that I probably was over-swinging. I’m the bomber of my golfing buddies and everyone wanted to see me send it: and it was making me take some weird swings. 3 rounds later I’m making my normal swing and the shaft is doing exactly what it did during the fitting: 20 extra yards on my good cut swing, and staying in the fairway with a power fade on a fair-poor swing. In the future I will only get fit for clubs late in the season: I want all the kinks worked out before I put down hard earned cash. As mentioned in several threads, some people only benefit from outdoor fittings : something about being indoors causes them to make a different swing than the one they bring to the course: not un-similar to the golfer who makes perfect swings at the range/during a lesson, but can’t duplicate on the course... I hope CC does right by you! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. The wedge gapping has become more of an issue since the driver went back in the bag; clearly I need some practice taking 5-10 yards off a wedge, then again,@jlukes points out that my strong lofted irons might be more of an issue... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I don’t hit 3 iron off the fairway: generally due to how low the trajectory is and how far it rolls out. 3 wood from the fairway is a once a round occurrence at most: it requires me to hit a below average drive on a par 5. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. In hindsight, I would get the AP2 instead: at the time of purchase I wanted the extra distance. As I’ve improved it’s left some odd gapping that I hope to fix with a wedge fitting this fall.. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. I’m getting fit for wedges in October: there’s so much to choose from I honestly don’t know what’ll in the bag next year... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Played 2 rounds with Tour B XS: this ball has the spin the X was missing! I’ve spun couple of wedges back at least 10 feet with these: time for a head to head matchup with the Srixon Z star XV Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Yeah that is definitely doable: Generally now that I’m hitting driver on long holes, neither club is needed for 2nd shots on par 5. My miss with both clubs is a right block/power fade. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Last 2 rounds I’ve gone 3 wood: I actually tried to hit it off the fairway today and that was a disaster! But I was 2/3 fairways hit the other it today... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. 82: another brutal front 9(44) followed by a crisp 2 over 38 on the back. I’ve been letting the nerves get to me, and it’s taken about 5 holes to settle down. And 3 of the 5 holes are par 4 doglegs with trouble on at least one side. Irons have been inconsistent as well, but my putting a been solid... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Good stuff there: The last 2 rounds I’ve actually become aware of how nervous I am. Usually My first shot sucks and I’ll settle down from there, but my last 2 rounds it has literally taken 5 holes to make what I would consider a decent swing. I’m definitely going to pay more attention to my heart rate/breathing when I tee it up this weekend... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  14. Titleist AP3 is great players distance iron if your a Titleist guy, and they’re much cheaper now that the T-100 & T-200 are out... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. So, I finally received my new shaft for my Ping G410 plus, and that has left me with a little dilemma. I’ve discovered how to hit my 3 wood, and it’s become a reliable fairway finder for me. I also bought a 3 iron (Titleist U510) this year to help with the gap at the top of my set. Now I’ve got 15 clubs, and someone’s gotta stay home, I’m curious what everyone thinks... Should it come down to 3 wood or 3 iron? Both are tee shot only clubs that get hit a maximum of 3 times a round. Should I think about removing a wedge? I’m a 5 wedge guy and love full swings from 160 and in. Think out of the box and maybe remove a 4 or 9 iron? Both clubs get hit about 2 times a round on average. I’m posting a graphic of my bag below with avg carry, and before anyone pm’s me about how far I hit a 7 iron, AP3 are loft jacked and I live at 4K feet and the ball carries at that elevation. Thanks in advance for your ideas! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. I have the same clubs and couldn’t figure out why there was a 30 yard gap between the AP3 PW and my 52 degree! Even bought a 50 degree and that only closed the gap to 24 yards: all before I just looked up the loft and discovered it was 43 degrees So now I have 43, 48, 52, 56, 60 comets: the 56 & 60 have a lot of bounce and the most forgiving grind(k) the other 3 are for full shots and have less bounce. 17. Totally disagree: would love a pair! Not for everyone I’m sure, but to me they’re [emoji91] Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Do you usually play the same course? Do you like to manufacture shots? I carry 5 wedges because I want to make full swings from 105-165 yards out: I don’t want to have to think about making a 75% swing from 115 because I only have a 50 degree and a 56. I also love having all those wedges for chips and sand shots of various lengths: I just take another club and make the same swing I do with my 60 to add more length/rollout. I’ve heard that the one length wedges are the hardest part of adjusting to a one length set. So like most posters have already commented, set your bag up to suit your strengths: there’s no point carrying clubs that are a liability... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. I think the better comparison for Rickie is Sergio Garcia: when Rickie finally wins one, and I believe he will win 1, just like Sergio, it’ll be late into his career. Around 20 wins and 1 major is what I figure for Rickie. To be fair though, he’s a better putter than Phil or Sergio. And I hope he wins more Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. I bought a Titleist U-510 3 iron earlier this year: I tee off with it on shorter par 4’s. I noticed I couldn’t hit it off the grass, even if it was sitting up on a fluffy lie. After teeing off with it on a par 5( I was without a driver for 2 months) and then immediately pulling my 4 iron(Titleist AP3) for the 2nd shot, I noticed how much heavier my 4 iron felt! When I got home, I put them both on a scale and discovered my 4 was 60 grams heavier than my 3 iron: the U-510 has a graphite hazardous smoke shaft and the 4 iron has a steel project x stiff shaft. I put about 5 pieces of lead tape on the back and sole of the club, and now it feels just like my 4 iron. It’s a ridiculous amount of tape on an iron, but I hit it great now. 21. Got a putter fitting in May, went back for a driver fitting in June, and am going back for a wedge fitting in October. It’s getting to be an issue for me... But if you go in with the mindset of only purchasing if they can fit you into something that blows away your current gamers that will save you some cash... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. I feel like it’s basically the new normal: you can always ask to only demo what CC or true spec have in stock already, that would cut the wait time... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. My PW(43*) and my GW(48*) are part of my AP3 set, and my 52, 56, & 60 are vokey with various grinds and level of bounce. I look at my pw and gw as full swing clubs that I’d prefer to have the same weight and feel as my iron set. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
