While I think watches look very cool I am not a watch wearer. The main reason being I have a cell phone always on me so I have zero need for it.

Are you a watch wearer or not? And what is your favorite watch?

Ive never worn a watch while on the course until recently.  With most golf courses in my area being walking only, i have kept my watch on and used some golf GPS apps to keep my yardage.  This seems to be a lot easiers and quicker than pulling out my laser for every shot.

I've never given it much thought, but off the top of my head:

WA, OR, CA, HI, MO, IL, WI, IN, OH, NC, SC, GA, FL

    Internationally: Canada, Mexico, Luxembourg

I don't see myself getting all 50 because there are some states I have zero interest in visiting, even if it is just to play a round of golf.

Yeah I had never thought of it either, until recently.  it was fun to go back and think about all of the golf ive played!

I have not done this but great idea. I wish I took more advantage in the military (IE Hawaii, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and other OCONUS courses I wish I played). In the states though off the top of my head I have played in 10 of the 50:

Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Florida, California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut and Illinois. Ideally will be adding a few over the next year or so!

I might have to start a map with pinned spots.....image.png.8c02154f13a675dd247121bf2e743665.png

Love it! Would love to play more overseas as well.  Hope you can knock out some more states!

Yeah, years ago when I lived in an apartment in Charlotte I had a shag bag and would just go to a school’s playground, or a park somewhere to hit and chip. I wouldn’t be ashamed at having a pop-up net and a mat that could be taken down to the grounds around the apartment complex...

I have not tried this but my wife and i love to travel and i would love to see and play courses in different states and different types of golf courses. This sounds like an awesome idea and would be so fun to do.

I know its going to take a while, but I'm looking forward to giving it a go!

It’s been 5-6 years since I actively started tracking the states I’ve played in. I was curious what the number was back then and when I saw it looked feasible to get them all in, started going after it. The last state will be Alaska, family in tow.

It’s been a fun adventure. Of course, some times you get in some interesting situations. Most recently, I was in Arkansas and had a round planned but it turned out to be the coldest day of their winter. I decided to play anyways. There were a lot of the members in the clubhouse, watching me and wondering why in the world anyone would be playing in such weather with 25 mph gusts. I found out they were taking bets if I’d actually finish the round lol. I did.

I haven’t. I started playing more out of state courses when I was covering eight states for a previous job, increasing the breadth of locations significantly. Now that I’m back to covering just two states, I won’t be expanding my places anytime soon. It’s always been interesting to see the different types of courses, grasses, set ups, etc. throughout all of the different places I’ve played.

Absolutely, was just in Vegas recently and desert golf courses are obviously very different than the golf courses we play here in Ohio.

  8. I posted this in the travel forum, but thought it might be a good discussion here also.  I recently went back and tried to list every course I have played throughout the country. It was impossible to remember every course, but I listed a good portion of them.  I also decided I want to try and play golf in all 50 states. I have a long way to go, but check out my list here: https://punchoutgolf.com/50-state-golf-challenge/

    Has anyone else done this?

The counties in Ohio can override that. There are counties in northeast and southwest Ohio that have deemed courses non essential and closed them until further notice.

Yeah, have been getting emails today about several courses here in Central Ohio that are opening this week.

Have fun with the score card collecting; I do that too and have well over 100 (only from courses that I have played), sometimes including related tees, yardage books, literature, etc.

Very cool, yardage books always kind of cool go back and look through as it helps me remember some of the holes.

Short game practice is what I do. Got an old corn hole board, layered some fake grass like green carpet on the top and cut out some extra holes to chip into. It's better than the five gallon bucket I was using lol

I love that idea.  I have seen those 'chippo' games but this sound a lot better!
