This might have been brought up in this tread. I have used Grint for a year going on 2 , I guess my question is their a way to better utilize it and how to use it with friends that you don't get to golf with often?

I agree it gives me some more mental clarity, and not having to look for or think about my partners next shot gets me to focus strictly on mine. More often than not however I really enjoy the comraderie of being with a good buddy with some music on and some drinks flowing. Riding solo doesn't have that same feel as seeing one anothers shot up close and its a little harder to give feedback to each other and talk about the hole if we're farther apart. I totally get what you mean though, depends on who i am playing with and what type of round were having though!

I would have to agree with you 100%. since this all happened and I started walking more instead of taking a cart I find that the time that I'm walking to my ball and gives me time to focus on what I'm doing instead of messing around with friends. It is also made me less frustrated with bad shots which is kind of weird because I think about it I have time to get over at my head and focus on what the next shot is going to be. From now on I'm going to walk as often as I can even after all this crazy stuff is over.

    I currently am testing Sub70 699U 3 iron.
Jason is really amazing and from my order the demo arrived in 2 days...
Shaft is a Project X graphite 6.0. Not my favorite shaft and probably the only thing I would change.
the club is so sweet. Has a huge sweet spot and is easy to send in the air. Even misfits lose very little power.
I am testing it on my skytrak and  numbers are what expected. Mid flight easy to lower if need.
    low spin and Looooong
    kudos to Sub70

Hey MGS , In the same position looking at getting a driving Iron. I have a Callaway Warbird  5 wood that I never swing so looking to replace it with a driving Iron any suggestions would be great! Is there a place to get fitted for a driving Iron ?

So in this "pandemic" we have to ride solo or walk, at first I thought, this was going to be a rough way to play! But now I feel that I am playing better and more focused, anyone else feel this way? I have walked more than normal and actually enjoy it. May be the best shape I have been in since collage as well.
    Thoughts?

I too have been using the Grint for a few years.  We started using it on a golf trip with guys coming in from all over, some members at their local courses others just social golfers so.  I don't use the GPS because I shoot a lot of things with the range finder but I do use it to track my stats such as driving accuracy and GIR.  I also keep an official handicap at my home course.

I had the MP-18 SC Fli-Hi with a Veylix Rome shaft for a bit. It was perfect for hitting bullets off the tee! I didn’t like a driving iron from anywhere else on the course, so I sold it.

They are way behind in testing due to the shutdowns.  Utility irons are typically toward the end of the testing cycle.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?
I've played a few rounds a year for most of my life, but really started getting into playing more seriously over the last 3 years, pretty much starting from a blank canvas since my previous golf could be described as "hacker". (maybe still so)
What do you love about golf?
Since I've stared playing more over the last three years, I've fallen in love with the challenge and the camaraderie of the sport. I've always been in a sport from 1st grade on, but I've never found a sport that continues to challenge and inspire me to be the best I can be at something I'm certain is impossible to master.
Along with finding the golf community of amazing people you find yourself paired with, or just playing with your buddies, the people cant be beat.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?
I found MyGolfSpy through Instagram as I was trying to figure out how to swing a club. The transparency and methods of testing and reviewing clubs was extremely helpful as I was learning the sport and continues to be.
Where are you from? What is your home course?
I live in Minnesota in the Twin Cities and don't have a home course. I really love to explore and play all the vast public courses in the area and get the best golf has to offer in its variety of course lay out.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?
The best is the sheer number of quality public courses in the area, the robust golf community, and because of that, reasonable prices. The obvious worst part of the region is the shortened season, but we make up for it by playing in the simulators.
What do you do for a living?
I work in the healthcare industry as a Perfusionist.
How’d you pick your user name?
I just used what mama gave me. 🙂

Wagerst reacted to FlyboyAF in Building a Quality Golf Simulator
Good morning MGS brethren! I am creating this thread to put quality information out into the community for those who are trying to research how to build an epic golf simulator. I just finished my build and it has drastically improved my game in the short time that it has been in use. When I started to research all of the different options for components however, not a lot of good information was available.....
Now it will be! I will be updating this thread in a stage-type fashion. Each stage of the project will show pictures of the setup, components, and result. Each stage will also have all of the different vendors researched, the decision that was made & why, and links to the selected products. I hope that this will drastically help anyone going down the road of building their own.

    Enjoy!
