  1. I really think that the golf ball has much more importance than many golfer think. just look at tour pros. for me the ball that fits me is something that has not too much spin off the driver and a firm feeling. I own a skytrak so I use it for ball fitting and right now the Snell MTB Black and Srixon Q-Star tour are the ones that suit me. big fan of ball fitting!
  2. Rank or Finau. they both hit long and are very consistent. And both are due for a Major
  3. Lots of variables go into choosing a ball. from technical (spin, length) to longevity and of course price. MGS with their Most Wanted test is an incredible resource, so I always use it when selecting a ball. Pick few ones that resonate my swing and try. so far the MTB - X is an incredible ball followed by Srixon Q- Star tour for my swing speed. vice are really good but too much spin for my driver... I suggest to give Snell a try because they are truly wonderful. a sleeper ball in m6 opinion is Wilson Duo Soft. For the price is another great buy
  4. Well my most inconsistent is the driver of course... But i would also make a consideration... Honestly i think that the putter is probably the most inconsistent for all of us. By this i mean that if we consider holing as final result of the putting stroke, every round goes completely different when it comes to putting. Some days the hole seem so big, some others not. And this seems to be true also for pros that at distance of few weeks can win or lose a tournament just for few inches misses with the putter... Thoughts?
  5. I totally agree with you and had the same high level customer experience with them. I ordered a 699 pro to try and it is a hell of an iron. After long conversations with Jason, i decided to pull the trigger on a 639 CB tho even without trying them!!! I trust so much this brand that i would order blindly from them and i will gladly soon have a full Sub70 bag. My decision was because i prefer a forged iron even if the 699 felt so smooth at contact... Just very similar to my actual PXG 0211 so i took that forged direction. Shaft selection was studied together but Jason still wants me to hit one club before building my full set so too have it perfect on every aspect.. What a good guy he is. Cant wait to receive my final test iron and have all them in my bag!!!!
  6. It is not a par 5, but Bethpage Black number 10 is just a beast. Tie with it is Bethpage Red opening hole. both holes are almost impossible to hit Green in 2. And the 10th of the Black measure almost 500yds... crazy....
  7. Hi! i have seen today on the podcast that really cool hat that Adam was wearing... I want to get it!.... how?
  8. I feel the same. Around the green sometimes would make more sense to put but I would still chip. reason is I am trying to be a better player and as you can see in tv pros almost each time chip. also when chipping there is no s3cond guess on what the ball would do in the rough path before the green..
  9. Quit before is too late from a 2 time divorced very smart friend
  10. It is an interesting strategy maybe to use in tournaments, but in my normal rounds (that I always consider practice) I try to always go for the most effective shot ‘if executed’. I think that is the best way to improve and get confidence. also because sometimes yo7 will be obliged to use a driver maybe because of wind, winter and wet conditions..
  11. Did you check the G/fore G4? super breathable and comfy
  12. Hi! i have a tee time tomorrow at Bethpage red course 2.24 pm and an extra spot. anyone wants to join?
  13. I try to walk always and got very annoyed when courses do not allow it. there is nothing more natural than walking on a flat bed of grass... I sometimes would walk bare feet just to enjoy the feeling. but aside of it I feel a different rhythm with my game.
  14. By the way your addiction is a bit more expensive than my surfboard
  15. Well.. I live in ny and I already played bethpage black twice this month... I guess I will be tired Friday evening lol. niceeeeee car!
  16. Hi there! so now I am really torn between decisions... I explain since when I was 13 I surfed. In Italy waves were not so good but as soon as 17 started to travel... now I am almost 50 and still I consider surfing my most desired activity.... together with golf.... golf I started 3 yrs ago and fell in love immediately. The peace and calm remind me of surfing when you sit in the ocean waiting for a wave... and now comes the question. I have Bethpage black reserved for Friday and a good swell hitting ny. i already know that if I go surfing I probably would be tired after to go play the black.... any other course I would pass considering that waves don’t come often.... but I already know that despite everything I will do both lol which one is your other hobby and what would you do in my position?
  17. Hi! I will lately post better numbers cause yesterday i just put few swings in. Overall on my best strikes i had 3/5 yards more carry distance. That is the only one i really look into because roll on skytrak is not so accurate. I have a 95mph swing speed on a good strike and 92ish on a bad one. Ball speed was around 137 with the gbb for 220 carry, 135 on mavrik with 215/16 carry. Spin was similarish in the 2200 range. Of course was few swing and shafts were different, so today i will deeply go into it with same shaft and adding lateral spin and launch angle as well as apex Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Hi! i answered already to this just could not find a way to quote you as well thanks for the honest answer and yes I know and agree on your post. my one was just and insight. Will do additional testing today using the same shaft and I will send you my results from the monitor. i am very curious about it especially because I started playing golf 3 years ago and my first driver was the epic so I never tried something little outdated.
  19. No my claim on 10 yards was of course a joke on the commercial and marketing materials and general impression from the public. i was of course fitted for my riptide and Mavrik and I am aware of everything you and cnosil are saying. in my specific case maybe the slightly more compact head works better for me. I bought a skytrak exactly to help me understand standard deviation and even fit by ball (even if for ball fitting is not probably the optimal one but very helpful anyway) my point is that sometimes a slightly old club can surprise for the performance especially in this case the alphas 2015 that was the longest in Most Wanted of that year. But I am all for technology improvements! look forward to MGS test because there is nothing more helpful and honest than this site!
  20. On this subject, I recently bought online a callaway great big Bertha 2015 driver and fairway wood to install on 2 spare shafts I have Aldila synergy black the idea was to build a second set ( I am currently waiting my Sub70 639cb) for guests... arrived today I immediately installed and gave couple of swings on my skytrak.... my current game is the Callaway Matrix with Evenflow riptide... surprise is... performance of GBB is superior as total distance, carry distance and ball speed.. in general I felt easier to find club face center... now my question is the same of the topic... do we need to spend all this money for latest technology that suppose to give us 10 more yards per year? aside that if that was true we would all by now out drive Rory ahahah
  21. No matter the course you still have to hit the shots! This score helps for the confidence!!! You are on the right path man!! Big milestone Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Actually i live in NY and courses here are so busy... a smart way to navigate thru this is really become a forecast expert and hit the course right before rain is going to end. Most of the times it leaves me with a very uncrowded course and maybe the first couple of holes under the rain... but well worth it... Plus greens at least hold the shot right? hehe
  23. Hi! i have business in Vegas and travel (used to because of this happening...) there every month. the one you mentioned are top notch. i would add Paiute (all good but wolf is the best) and bear’s best without of course going to the ones that break the bank (like Wynn, shadow creek) also I have heard great things of reflection bay. one very underrated one, close to the strip and I found interesting is Royal Links. A reproduction of some holes of the US open. Fun round and not crazy expensive. stay out of Bali hai. Boring and not well kept. the rest of courses are ok..
