Best tip I received years ago was when you are in a fairway bunker before you take your stroke lift your chin up. Keeps you from hitting fat. Has served me well over the years.

I too am in my 60's. I play music when I play but before I start my music I always ask if it's ok with my playing partners. I don't use a speaker just my Iphone and never at full volume. I think the guy you're playing with is an ahole and has no respect for his fellow golfers. If someone ask I happily turn is up or down. Speakers are obnoxious since not everyone has the same music tastes.
