About Me

1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

I have been playing since I was 16 but only played 10 times a year while in the northeast until I graduated college and moved to California, then I started playing a lot more.  My handicap is currently 11.9 coming off injury, etc., although I was between a 7.3 – 9.8 for more than 15 years. I typically shoot high 70’s to mid 80’s but will shoot anywhere from a 75 to a 95 on any given day. Also, i typically play courses with a slope greater than 130.

2. What do you love about golf?

The mental challenge, the required creativity, the views, the separation from the busy work life, of course the people and meeting new people and the competition with individual and team events.

3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

The reviews, the articles, the forum Q&A. No I do not know other spies.

4. Where are you from? What is your home course?

Originally, Northeast, now West Coast in San Jose, CA area.  Home course is Cinnabar Hills in San Jose CA, used to be DeLaveaga in Santa Cruz, CA for a long time.

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

Best is there are some incredible world renown courses (e.g. Pebble Beach. Spyglass Hill, Silverado, Harding Park and others) as well as some fabulous lesser known gems in the area.

Worst is the cost of golf keeps rising (e.g. Pebble Beach is $600) plus the San Francisco Bay Area has lost (shutdown and gone) approximately 25 courses in the past 15 years.

6. What do you do for a living?

I am a high tech marketing professional.

7. How’d you pick your user name?

Quite honestly it is a concatenation of my name + golf + nickname friends gave me.
