  1. I was very eager to get me a Zepp2. Zepp promised useful club swing and wrist data. Had some Pro support and promising potential. Easily attaches to a glove simple to use. I worked some overtime and spent it on Zepp2. Excited to get it and use it, but frustrating to get it to work. Pros: Clean and intuitive app. Instant feedback with scoring model. Swing video analysis system. Seemingly accurate scoring. Cons: Horrible tech compatibility….My Pixel phone, wife’s phone, old Motorala phone, old-old Ipad didn’t work. I had to get an Ipad from a friend, that had the one specific iOS, that they were going to throw away. Lucky me. When I attempted to contact Zepp support about any issues, multiple times, I never even received a response. They have video tutorials and training plans available. All available elsewhere through reputable golf forums and YouTube channels. Zepp has an app forum where you can upload scores and swing video….last post by anyone was more than 1 year ago. I feel the data is accurate and I thoroughly enjoy using it and seeing the fedback. When I feel I swing well the score shows it, and when I know it’s bad it shows that as well. It does a lot of what I want, but the product compatibility and support sucks, so save your money. If an updated relevant product took its place I think it would get a big following, but Zepp2 is not the answer, except for a small group. Overall, Zepp isn’t a practical practice aid anymore. If you are willing to buy an outdated product that matches your outdated handheld OS, good luck. And don’t expect any customer support.
  2. Ri Yeah, R-Motion by Rapsodo is different product than the launch monitor. It was mostly advertised as a swing analyzer with budget simulator.
  3. A little late to the game here, per usual. But I gave it a go. I decided to give the R-Motion a try mostly because it advertises that it gives some basic information about my swing but also because it integrates, and comes with, a free version of a simulator. The reviews on R-Motion are mixed at best, but I was hoping I would be able to get one of the better experiences. There are a few aspects to the R-Motion to dig into; the R-Motion device, the App, the data and the Simulator. Pros: Relatively reliant ball flight and swing path display on the R-Motion app and GameGolf. Free simulator GameGolf is a quite fun and useful. Great for a quick 18 rounds at home. Cons: Both GameGolf and R-Motion provide little to no instruction out of the box. Almost everything of value I found were on forums….still varied by “experts”. Neither GameGolf nor R-Motion provide a user friendly experience to rename or add clubs. R-Motion provides a full range to choose from, but GameGolf is unnecessarily restrictive. I saw on several GameGolf forums you cannot change the loft more than 5 degrees from the default…….true…..however change it 5 degrees, save setting, then change it 5 degrees more and you’re good to go. R-Motion club attachment is horrendous. Buying multiple is stupid expensive. Regular blue putty from a hardware store is the fix. R-Motion uses some variance of Rolomotion to acquire swing data. Problem is, if you top or stuff a ball it looks at swing path and may show a great hit. GameGolf – short chips take some getting used to. Putting is absolutely pointless. There is a setting to automatically take a 1 or 2 stroke based on distance. R-Motion – On my Pixel phone I cannot let the R-Motion turn on before logging in or the app will freeze then need to restart phone. Must login first, then activate the R-Motion device. No way to export swing data or track progress. I brought R-Motion with me to an indoor practice facility using a ForeSight tracking system. The two systems track different data points so it is difficult to say if R-Motion was accurate or not, however I feel the R-Motion was reasonably close for the most part and flight path was comparable. There were definitely shots that the two provided very different numbers (assuming ForeSight tracker is accurate). Would I recommend R-Motion? No. The data it provides just doesn’t help me improve my practice and the mishits are too unreliable. Also, take into consideration that Rapsodo doesn’t appear to sell it any longer. Me: I’m a beginner/recreational golfer (mid/high 90s). Been playing for several years, but that typically has meant 3 or 4 rounds a year having a few beers with friends. Recently, prior to quarantine, I started to take a real interest in golf and wanted to actually improve my game.
  4. Hello SouthWest-erners How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I’m a beginner/recreational golfer (mid/high 90's score). Been playing for several years, but that typically has meant 3 or 4 rounds a year having a few beers with friends. Recently, prior to quarantine, I started to take a real interest in golf and wanted to actually improve my game. I’m also work an irregular schedule and limited funds to invest towards green time What do you love about golf? The Pros make it look so easy but it is anything but. Every shot is a new challenge and even on a bad day, it's nice to get out and enjoy the scenery and weather. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Originally it was the good product analysis but all around great site. Where are you from? What is your home course? Las Vegas, NV. No home course, mostly west or Summerlin. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Hot as hell in the summer What do you do for a living? I drink and I know things How’d you pick your user name? It has my name in it.
  5. Thank you all for the feedback. I'll definitely bring my current driver in when I go shopping
  6. Correct, total distance. A few MPH to increase 10+ yards is motivation to keep working on it.
  7. Been following MyGolfSpy for quite a while but this is my first post. I've been a hack golfer for many years (swinging clubs and having some beers) but within the past year I've been focusing on my game, taking a few lessons and upgraded my irons. Right now I'm playing a 5y+r old Tommy Armour driver from an all-in-one bag. Accuracy still needs some work but fairways hit is averaging 235yrds. My swing speed is on the lower end 90-95mph (38yr old) so I am trying to work on increasing those numbers. So upgrading the driver is inevitable and I'll be going to a local PGA Tour Superstore for basic fitting. But is it smart to go for it now to get some more distance and maybe knock a few points off, or wait a while to see if I can actually increase my swing speed which might change up the ideal driver?
