I would have to say age and pace of play. This was a subject of contention in my league until the members voted to adopt rules that specifically addressed it. I assume your work league is structured, which would include by-laws, as is mine. In such, the rules of the league were adopted from a full member vote. The league's by-laws clearly spell out which Tee Box is to be used by whom, and all handicaps based accordingly. In my current league, the rules dictate that once you aspire to a certain age, you are given the option of playing (for the sake of pace/staying competitive) from the White Tees. However, you must begin the season from there, have your handicap based from those Tees and remain there throughout the season... including playoffs if applicable. A portion of league members will always find a reason to complain or an excuse for their off play, etc... Personally, I enjoy the good natured banter that encompasses my golf league night.

I had a fabulous round with my favorite golf mates today... we played our local municipal course, all scored below our handicaps, and had more laughs than should be legally allowed. We were on the tee at 7:30am, and were finished before the heatwave could effect us...just a great day!

Good setup!! Congratulations on finding golf! There are several guys in my league who are in their 80s, and another just turned 90... so you have 60+ years to enjoy the hard work you are putting in now! Cheers!

By the way, that "formula" has been floating on the internet for a long while... I would give credit to the person who came up with it, but I don't recall a name or website associated with it.

Ok... not sure how accurate this will be for everyone, but it's very close to what my club head speed is... Divide your average drive distance by 2.3. This should give you your average club head speed in miles per hour. For instance, if your drive distance is 202 yards, your average club head speed is 202 divided by 2.3... approximately 87.8 miles per hour. It's a rough estimate, but actually works out pretty close to mine... hope it helps!

I'm looking into new irons... I am definitely not searching out any one brand. I want fitted to what works best for me. My irons are the oldest sticks in my bag... it's time.

Extremely nice setup!

After my PW, I have an 50* Approach wedge, a 54* wedge and a 60* wedge. If I had to choose just one, I would have the 54* in my bag. I use it more often than the Approach wedge, and I really only use the 60* for flop shots on tough lies around the greens.

I really like the MIM Black wedge... I'm giving them serious consideration since you can get them with a high bounce... good looking wedges to me.
