  1. Wade Hampton is on the bucket list, but it's tough to get on! I'm always on the lookout for a connection there.....
  2. I assumed it had been discussed, and I dug through some of the new review posts, but lots of information on the 2018 thread!! Thanks for the feedback!
  3. Has anyone tried the SuperSpeed training system, not using a launch monitor but just going through the protocol? I'm curious about results, either perceived or actual. Thanks
  4. I wear the Adidas Adipower 4orged S shoe in the summer and really like it. Most comfortable shoes I have. It gets pretty hot in NC in mid-summer and my feet are comfortable.
  5. I have a TaylorMade cart / stand bag I use regularly with my push cart, and like just fine. But I'm considering adding a lightweight carry bag, for those days when I play 9 holes and want to strap it on my back rather than push. Recommendations? My home course is somewhat hilly, so I'm looking for weight optimization and decent club organization. Thanks
  6. I live in NC, and try to play as often and as varied courses as possible. I love my home course, but variety is fun too. Fairly familiar with the Pinehurst area and the courses available there. What other courses would you rate highly in NC? Thanks in advance
  7. !00% agreed with this. Using the clubs that you're hitting well to make a score is the purpose of the game. In my mind, you are working to improve (also a goal of every round), and I would score the rounds....
  8. I'd be surprised if you didn't break 90 on your home course now. The mental breakthrough is the key - obviously you're striking the ball well enough to shoot the score! Congrats!
  9. The difference in the Oban and my previous lightweight graphite shafts is night and day. I don't have spin numbers, but will message my clubfitter to see if he can send them. I'd highly recommend them - definitely taken strokes off my game.
  10. Will do ASAP. I have to clean them first!!!!!
  11. Driver: TaylorMade M3 driver, Fujikara Atmos Red 6 R Shaft 3-Wood: TaylorMade M3 Hybrids: TaylorMade GAPR Hi, GAPR Mid Irons: TaylorMade p-790, Oban Shafts (5-A) Wedges: Cleveland RTX 56 and 60. Oban Shafts Putter: Odyssey DF-550 Ball: Pro V1x (although I'm currently trying the Snell MTB-X
  12. i've been using Arccos for some time now, and it has pluses and minuses. Nothing is perfect I guess. I don't love the phone in the pocket and my fiance absolutely hates it - can't wait for the link to ship. The customer service is fantastic - every question I've ever had, or issue with a sensor, has been resolved quickly and without cost or question. I think they will continue to improve and evolve as technology gets more sophisticated. Overall, I'm a fan....
  13. I also feel like the demo day reps are working to move product - going to a independent club fitter that doesn't care which product you purchase has been, for me, game changing....
  14. Glad to have found this thread before pulling the trigger on my SkyTrak. Great information as I read through the entire experience. Thanks!
  15. The most fun I've ever had playing golf in Texas was at the Graham country club! A 9-hole track with a hodgepodge of rental clubs. Windy, cold and fun!!!
  16. I'm new to the forum, but it's funny that my friends and I started this challenge for 2020 as well. So far, I've birdied every hole on the front except #1 (difficult par 4), and 13,14,15 on the back. I've missed short birdie putts on 14 several times, including this past Saturday. Fun challenge!
  17. Pinehurst #2 for me, although have not played Bethpage Black... When I looked at during the US Open, Bethpage was the most intimidating courses I've ever seen. Looking forward to getting the opportunity to play there.
  18. Within an hour, you can get to the Pinehurst area. I'd highly recommend checking out the Pinehurst coures, plus pine needles and mid-pines. Also, Tobacco Road is fun track. Mike Stranz built a challenging track in the middle of nowhere.
  19. The announcers mentioned that if the PGA had a draft like the NBA, he would have been Zion.... Great college record!
  20. As a followup to the original question, my partner is fairly new to golf but LOVES to play. She's worked her way down to a 27 handicap in 18 months - and is looking to standardize on a golf ball. She likes the Callaway Chrome Soft - but realizes that they're expensive for a new(ish) golfer that doesn't necessarily need the features of a premium ball. Any recommendations on a similar ball in the mid to low price range? Thanks!
  21. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've played on and off for 40 years, but some of those droughts have been long ones. Took the game back up 2 years ago, when my fiance fell in love with golf. I'm a 12 handicap, working to get into single digits. What do you love about golf? Being able to play with my significant other. It's our together time, when we walk through the woods, and hit a golf ball along the way..... With a little friendly competition to keep it interesting. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I've followed the reviews for awhile, and love the unbiased approach. Where are you from? What is your home course? Live in Chapel Hill NC, and play at Chapel Hill Country Club. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Weather can't be beat, and access to great tracks is amazing. Pinehurst is like heaven. What do you do for a living? I run a sales organization for a software company. How’d you pick your user name? My parents high school mascot.
