Hardest Course You've Ever Played (in the U.S.)
AceBino replied to Zeasy's topic in Golf Courses & Travel
Hands down, Erin Hills. Such a great test of accuracy, distance control and putting. -
Hi everyone....was looking to replace my Callaway MD4 wedges with the MD5s. I went to the MD4s from Vokeys because I had a great deal on the price, and I really liked them. That was almost 2 years ago now, and I think its time to replace them; they are starting to lose their bite on pitch shots (30-60 yards) where I once had a good amount. I was fitted by my buddy (who I used to work with at a now out of business big box golf retailer) and I was at 54*/S and 58*/S. Anyone have intel on the MD5s? Or, if you have had really good success that you want to share with another brand, I'm not "brand-exclusive". Thanks!

How I shaved 8 strokes in a month without leaving my house
AceBino replied to longdrivenate's topic in The 19th Hole
Well done, and sound advice! I have played 36 holes in the last 3 or so weeks and I have made SEVEN 3-putts (shooting 77 and 83)....so I will take your wisdom and apply it!! Best wishes, and stay healthy. -
I've had the LZ 6.0 in my old set of Ping iE1s, and now in my Mizuno JPX-900 forged irons. Fantastic feel, not boardy to me ( I have a 98-100 mph driver swing speed, carry a 7i 160-165), and I can get a good amount of spin on the them.

I was on the fence about 3-woods for the longest time myself. On advice from a friend, I tried out some low-profile FWs a couple years ago and just this year I added the Ping G410 3 wood - for me, it really works well. I used to have a problem with not being able to launch FWs off the deck, but that low profile really give me the confidence to do. Next I'll be saving up for the G410 5-wood!!!

I just saw this today, and it kinda hit me - not from the perspective of "gee, this was gonna be MY YEAR!!", but more from the perspective of "gee, there were so many players who's dreams have been deferred 1 year". I realize that this was a good idea on the USGA's part due to the high risk of COVID-19 spread that you would have in these qualifiers, and let's be honest - safety and health comes first. But I'm curious how this affects others here on the site - from those who are true golf fans and even those who were looking to qualify. Stay safe and healthy out there.

Hi everyone - I'm happy to be a part of this site! I've been playing for about 35 years (really - its been THAT long?!?!), and I'm a 5 handicap. The thing I love about golf is that you can never truly master it - it's a constant pursuit of perfection that will never be achieved but the chase is sooooo much fun. My cousin is a member of the forum, and he knows how much of a geek for golf I am so he recommended it to me. I'm originally from Jamestown, NY but I have been living in the DC metro area (mostly in Northern VA) since 1995. Best things are we can play just a about year-round, there's access to some really good instructors. Bad things are green fees are expensive and the pace of play is really slow. I'm a business consultant by day. I've never had an ace before, so that's my big goal!! the other part is my nickname.
