  1. I move around between 8' and 12', but mostly hit at about 10'. When I get out to the 12' range I am not able to hit anything below my 7i as I am worried I will go over my net. At the 10' range I can hit everything but my 60*. From 8' I can hit anything. I moved back to try and see if it made any difference in the readings and found my sweet spot to mostly be the 10' range.
  2. Quick update on my Mevo unit. I took it out to a driving range this weekend and was able to see that the numbers from Short Indoor setting and Outdoor setting matched up pretty close. I noticed the numbers were a little shorter in the outdoor mode, but I was also hitting fairly worn range balls and not hitting all that well to be honest. There was also a bit of wind and I don't know yet how the unit handles wind since it imports the weather at your location when on outdoor mode (i.e. Is it normalizing your numbers based on wind, or is it just noting it down so that when you go back and review it indicates the weather at the time of the session). My next test will be taking it out on an actual course and setting it up on my tee shots so I can use the GPS on my phone (I use Golf Logix App) to confirm total distance (unless I can clearly pinpoint carry distance from the tee (such as par 3's). All in all I was very happy that the numbers were so close as now I can trust my home set up a bit more, though I was disappointed that I still hit my driver shorter than I think I do when on the course...My wife says getting old must suck...
  3. Waiting for them to team up with FlightScope and E6 or TGC so you can use your launch monitor for full shots then switch over to this for the putting part! Do that and I’m interested! Still a bit curious how people like putting to that bar without the visual of a real hole. Good luck to the applicants! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. And now I have to add that to my wish list! Thats pretty cool.
  5. Looks to me like your handicap should be dropping pretty soon!
  6. My NCGA Handicap is currently @ 4.4. In the last year all my scores have been between 74 and 86, playing a wide variety of courses, course ratings, Slope ratings, and lengths.
  7. Excited to start testing this when it comes in. Got my backyard practice area mostly cleaned up. Ready to go on the course and into the net with Mevo +! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. My trick for using my range finder is always shoot the background first on purpose. Now you will know what the “wrong” distance is. Then try shooting the flag. If you get a similar number your missed the flag. If it’s a lot different good chance your on the flag now. Plus I also always shoot the flag about 3 times for yardage confirmation. 10. Congrats to the testers. Looking forward to the results on the 440 head. Am considering starting the search for a new driver and want a smaller head than 460. Ideally in the 400-440 range.
  11. I’m with you on learning. Tried to use this for a couple hours today with a friend using a net in my backyard. Totally agree that when the battery gets low, it starts to misread some shots. That said I’m not sure that the miss reads are also not (at least in part) my set up. I’m still playing around with how I can set this up to be fairly level with my hitting surface as my yard is not all that flat at present. I ended up playing 2 rounds with it on a small table top tripod, but I think that is a little too high now and might be throwing off launch angle because of it. I really want to go and get on a track man to get some baseline numbers so I can then hit on this and know how close/off they are. For my 3wood - 9i yardages seems pretty darn good. But my driver seems short with too high a spin for what I see on the course, and my wedges seem long. I am hoping to go to a range tomorrow so I can test full outdoor flight mode and see if the driver numbers and flight match up with what I see in person. That said, I have not hit as many balls as I hit today in a long time so my body might be shot... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  13. Mevo + was just delivered to my work. I am charging it and hope to start testing it out tonight! While I plan to test everything I can think of, let me know if there is a specific question at all and I'll try to figure it out! Very exited to finally have this in hand!
  14. So after originally applying for this challenge, then following along after the disappointment of not getting to compete, I couldn't hold back anymore...My wife blames all of you BTW... I plan on testing it out the next few days and then might also get a 52* on order too...
  15. Took a short trip down to Monterey yesterday (sat) to play Poppy Hills GC in a small club turni (but more like a friendly gathering of 20 or so people). The course was being very strict on their Covid Policies. Don't arrive too early, no holes on the putting green, chipping area closed, restaurant closed, leave right after your round, don't touch the flag sticks, Only 1 person per Cart...which was all well and good; fully understand. But they did seem to go a bit overboard. Only 25 practice balls per person before round only and 10 min warm up time (like they literally had an employee sitting there behind your practice who hands out the 25 balls and times you) and they wont let you buy more balls regardless of the fact that they had 15 or so stalls spaced out to use, and there was never more than 4 people hitting at a time. The topper for me though was an extension of the 1 rider per cart to the following: Groups of 4 players, 1 rider per cart, 2 carts per group...So they are making half the group walk, but charging the same amount to all players. That irks me, regardless of the fact i was planning to walk anyways. Still don't like that... On to the round, after not getting in my typical 80 or so warm up shots, or getting to roll my ball into a cup prior to playing I wasn't sure what to expect. It was an overcast day, but just warm enough that I could take the jacket off (helped that I was walking). Started off a bit rough hitting a trap off the first tee, but being a par 5 was able to recover pretty well for par. Hooked my tee shot into the trees on 3 and struggled to recover and lead to a double. Few holes later and a few missed putts and I was already 4 over for the day with 12 more holes to go still...time to open a beer...And good timing too, finished the front going Par, Birdie, Eagle! To get back to 1 over for the front nine. Sadly, with exception of 1 good par 3 on the 15th, the rest of the round didn't keep up and I fell back down to a solid, but somewhat disappointing 5 over 76 (par 71). Putting let me down a bit as I lipped out about 4-5 putts inside 6 ft (most of which more in the 3' range). All in all it was a nice round and was happy to get my first eagle of the year in the books, though I have no idea how I managed it: Par 5 9th hole, little short @ 489 but playing uphill and slightly into the wind. It s a bit of a double dogleg with a trap protecting the inside corner on the tee shot. After playing my driver right center I had about 211 up hill to the flag. The flag was probably about halfway between the right edge of the green and where the flag in the stock photo below is, which means the landing area is quite small once you carry the trap protecting the front edge and to avoid bouncing though to the trap on the backside. I decided to choke down on a 3 wood and punch it up there best I could. Somehow I managed to hit it flag high on the fly AND it stopped before running off the green into the trap. Left me about an 18' putt which I rolled in for the 3. This photo had me thinking I was better than I was. You can see my tee shot up in the fairway about 50 yards off the green (just in front of the cart path sign in the fairway). Out drove my playing partner by about 60 yards. Riding high! Shamelessly even looked back at him and fake flexed. Hit my approach shot to the green and was left with about 7' for birdie. After marking my ball and cleaning it off I saw it...The fresh evidence of a cart path bounce. Apparently I didn't fly the corner by as much as I thought I did and was graced with a VERY beneficial bounce. Ego shattered, I missed the putt and tapped in for par before admitting to my partner the truth... Front: Back:
  16. My 2 main “sports” are Golf and Pool (Billiards - or to be ultra specific: 9-Ball). I have several cues and ultimately plan to have a table in my garage or on my patio when I build a cover for it. I actually met my wife at a pool hall so she is into it too and has her own cue; though for the life of me she won’t let me give her advice when we play! I firmly believe that the two games are inter-related. Both have a little white ball you need to hit and play spin to get a ball in a hole and also need to worry about where you leave your current shot to make your next shot easier. 18. While I would like to help the cause for "Z", the name is partially chosen because i enjoy a drink or seven quite often. Would probably have trouble spelling my own user name if I changed it now.
  19. Woohoo! Super pumped to test this and share my thoughts and hopefully improvements because of this club.
  20. I have never heard of that brand. It looks like it would probably have some give to your irons with all that layering, but my concern would be how stable the feet are for the same reason. As to the price, I have for sure seen higher (CCE, Fiberbuilt, TrueStrike, ect...). I am also in the process of building a home practice area so was looking all over for a decent quality, but not terribly expensive mat and came across Raw Hide Golf Ball Co. (https://rawhidegolfball.com/product/golf-mat/). I got the grade A and really like it so far. Am probably going to buy another one so that I can butt them up against each other between me and the net/screen. It is nice too that you can use an actual tee in it if you want, but the tee goes flying on each shot + you may need to cut the tee for your preferred height as it doesn't push down all the way like grass does. Here is a photo of the the one I got. It came in looking in great shape. Can hardly tell it was used on 3 of the sides, and you will notice that 1 of the tee holes is not even opened up yet so that side is still brand new.
  21. Its crazy to me your coach says that about not being able to hit up on it because he is shorter than you. I am 5'-6" with 32" (I think...don't really wear dress shirts out here in Cali...don't match our flip flops very well...) and have been playing a standard length driver forever. My current M5 is the 9* head that I have to turn down to 7.5* with 1 of the weights towards the front (about a 1/2" back) of the face for an even lower trajectory because I hit up on it so much. My friend is about 6" taller than me and he still can't get my driver up in the air. My "Low" shot is his normal one. I should be getting on an LM in the next week or so and now am very curious what my actual AoA is. If I had to guess, I am probably about +3*. You being 5'4" is just another reason to join your team. I hate all these tall people who think they can beat us at golf just because we are short! Right up till I out drive them...
  22. My eyes follow the putter head back when I look down towards the ball. That said, I have also been known to look at the hole while putting to get my brain out of it a bit. With that said, putting is the worst part of my game. I plan to go and get a putter fitting/lesson possibly when everything in the world calms back down. I will just add that when I try to look just at the ball, my eyes twitch and I end up looking at the putter anyways. Just can't do it...
  23. Good Lord that's a fast swing speed! You sure your names not DeChambeau ??
