I don't hit the ball very far so I use the 3 wood on the long 200 yard par 3's, gets me pretty close each time. Always handy to have, especially if your driver isn't working that day, you can always switch it with the 3W for more consistency.

Quiet a mix of clubs there! I would recommend upgrading your 60* to a Vokey SM7. The price has dropped since the SM8's have been released.

    Hello all,
I had been planning to buy my brother a set of new golf clubs for his birthday but parents bought this. Is a fancy putter worth buying as an addition or is there something else you’d rather have? I’m only a golf beginner so looking for some advice!

I use my 3w as a driver. Took the driver out of the bag and have scored much better. The Sim Max rocket 3w is long.

My unhelpful comment is that I play as a single
Besides that, I say if booking in advance, reserve the foursome based on verbal commitment, but know the cancellation/change deadline and set the expectation that everyone prepaid the booker by then, that way there’s already a skin in the game.

My friends and I play a mix of public and private golf. Each time we want to book a tee time or plan to golf at one of their clubs, it is a challenge coordinating everyone's availability. Furthermore, people will commit to playing without realizing they have some prior commitment they forgot about.
How do you ensure you fill your foursome prior to booking a time or filling out a tee time you already reserved? Are there any apps out there that help make this easier?

Saw an interesting video from Rick Shiels, Costco are selling a set of Callaway clubs, full box which includes Driver, 3 Wood, Hybrid, Irons (6-SW) and Odyssey Putter. The box comes in at £480.00. Obviously you can’t get fitted or even try them and the option appears to be Regular shafts however the on course testing is a bit of any eye opener. Comparable set of Mavik would be around £1,800.00 off the shelf. Also, read this review https://twingolfer.com/callaway-edge-review-club-set/

I think it is reversed when you're in a cart so, long clubs on bottom of a stand bag means in back when on a golf cart.
I can't do it either in a stand bag so I put the woods in the middle of a 14 way bag with the mid and long irons filling out the outside ring to make range sessions easier.
In my cart bag, I would rearrange them similar to how he did - Woods at the back.
Oh the idiosyncracies we all have.

Thank you, I ride in a cart a lot so this set up is easier to access the clubs. When I walk I switch out bags with my wife, she has the 5 way Nike air sport golf bag, much lighter to carry too

That's about the same for me. I carry a divot tool that has a ball marker on it, two tees, and 3 balls.
My divot tool is spring loaded and goes "ting" when I open it. I love that sound.

Nice set up, though it always throws me off when people put the longer clubs at the bottom. I know they are easier to see the club your pulling but I have always done it the other way around and there is no way I am switching.

Right I tend to walk so I don't move them around much, but yes we all have our habits. To top it off I always carry my divot tool, 2 tees, and a marker in my right pocket. Not as picky about other things but that is my set up for every round.

I started with a Strata 9 piece set a few years ago. Got fitted for a Driver to start with, then just recently got fitted to a new set of irons. Now it time to knuckle down and get my score down into the 80's and low 90's consistently. What do you guys think? Ended up with a mix of Callaway and Titleist.
    Driver: GBB Epic 10.5*
    3 Wood: Epic Flash
    4 Hybrid: Epic Flash
    Irons:  4 - PW Rogue
    Wedges:  Vokey SM8 50*, SM7 56*, 60*
Putter: California Fastback 35" w Red Cord Dancing SC Grip
Bag: Nike Air Hybrid Golf Bag

My OCD made me match the EPIC Flash driver head cover with the 3W and 4H.

The only club without a headcover in my bag is my putter.
I like the silence and lack of club clatter that headcovers provide.

I have had my S60 about 18 months and it's great.  I upgraded (from TomTom 2) as I wanted hole maps.  I wear it as my normal day to day watch and battery life is fine, but i think it could struggle to do 2 full rounds comfortably without a little top up.  I find the fitness tracking features useful to have, but it has no heart rate monitor built in, which is no big deal for me (if it stops I will find out soon enough).

I have the s60 and love it. It does everything I want it to do. I previously had another garmen product that was more for back packing and back country stuff. It had a golf app but wasnt great. The s60 is nice and slim in comparison and combined with the app it's a great tracking and all around great addition to my game. On the course everyone always asks me yardage and compared to my range finder it's usually within 3-5 yards. I'm not that good anyways to dial in 3-5 yards so it's perfect. My greens in regulation have gone up big time because I'm choosing the right club more often. If I hit it pure haha

I would have just given him a 6. It was given by the group, and he may not have been concentrating when practicing the putt knowing he had it already.

depending how comfortable you are pulling your own shafts and reassembling them, you can always look into having them powder coated

if you just want to go matte black, you can cut heat shrink tubing to size and run a heat gun over the shaft of your club.
you could also bring your clubs to an auto body shop that does car wraps.
i’m guessing a wrap would add 5-10g of weight to the club though.
