  1. Believe it or not I have sunglasses with yellow lenses I don't know why but it just makes the grass greener and the white ball pops even if I'm in the rough I can see it a lot better. I don't like wearing the yellow lenses on the green though it makes it harder to read.
  2. I used to get frustrated and angry. Then one of my friends gave me some great advice he told me you suck way too much at this game to get mad. ever since then I haven't gotten angry on the golf course. Even when I'm not playing very well I just think to myself I'm not getting paid to play here I paid to play here and I relax and enjoy the company of good friends.
  3. I cant wait, It sounds like a really good time. I just read the 2019 thread.
  4. I use a push cart, all my friends now have their own push carts because they saw how well I played not carring around a 6 pack of extra weight. Let your buddy make fun of you, if you enjoy the game with a push. Give it a few rounds and he will see how much better you play than him and he will start using a cart too hahaha. Unless he is super fit and amazing then you will have to suck it up.
  5. I've been to Yuma twice, golf courses looked amazing there but I was working 12 hours shifts and couldn't get away to play. Lots of Canadians snow bird down there, I couldn't beleive how many canadians I met in 4 weeks there.
  6. As a new comer to this challenge, is this a 9 holes challenge or a complete wreck your hands 18 hole beating? I have a box of nitro ulitmate distance, will these work they are not on the list but they are hard as rocks.
  7. Playing mid day yesterday I noticed my grip was slipping. I usually play eveings/twlight, could quite possibly be that my hands were sweating more than usual as well.
  8. My putting is much better but as the greens speed up as they dry out and catch some wind. I'm having a hard time adjusting from the mat in my basement to the real green. I've drained some awesome putts this year because of my alignment being much better but I still need to work on tempo on real grass.
  9. Thanks for all the great advice, I'm really looking forward to playing this week. I'll remember to breath and forget the bad and concentrate on the good shots.
  10. I love walking the course. Sometimes my body thinks otherwise but I play much better when walking. I get time between shots to walk off the frustrating ones and bask in the great shots. It gives me time to think about my next shot and harass my friends about stupid shots from last week.
  11. Who isn't thinking about cobra equipment right now haha. I feel like a kid before Christmas waiting for MGS to release the members chosen.
  12. Winter is the worst because I'm wanting to play but I can't get out on the course. My putting improves greatly over the winter month's, and I have a chipping net now too.
  13. I've played quite a bit this year and my grips aren't what they used to be.I clean my grips every five or six rounds with Dawn dish soap to get the dirt in hand grime off of them. I have new grips but I don't want to put them on until I'm at least halfway through this season. Have any of you guys ever used fine grit sandpaper on your grips to get a little more grip on them? I know it sounds like I'm being cheap but with everything going on this year I have to nickel-and-dime a little bit.
  14. I started playing when I was 12, my dad took me out with his friends. I had quite a large property and would play from tree to tree like they were holes around the property. I took a long time off from 16 till I was in my early 30s. A couple years back my physio said I could play golf as rehab. I couldn't play other sports and fell love with golf. I've had the bug for a couple year now and can't stop thinking about it. Thanks To my dad and my grandma for the early lessons and getting me started in the wonderful world of golf
  15. Picked up my 3 wood at a thrift shop for 50 bucks. It's my favorite club in the bag at the moment
  16. I have replaced my irons since starting a couple year ago quite a bit. I was playing game improvement irons but once I started to get better I was hitting the ball too far and my gapping was terrible. I upgraded to Srixon Z 585 Iron's I couldn't hit them worth crap so I traded for a set of TaylorMade R11 irons. They were decent irons and then was gifted the current set I have and I have stuck with them since november last year. I'm looking at upgrading again to either Callaway Apex Forged or Mizuno JPX900 Forged Irons in the next year. I might even buy new this next time if the manufactures have great sales at the end of the season because of COVID sales being down.
  17. Amazing shot today! Picture this 200 yards out, in the rough on the right side behind a tree. I could either chip out and lay up or go for it? I told my partner I'm going to put a 90 yard cut on it and wrap it around the tree onto the fairway and hopefully roll up to the green. I take out my 3 hybrid and BLAAM just frigging rip one huge cut and smashes the green 20 yards from the pin and stuck like glue on the green. One of the best shot i've ever made.
  18. Here are a few pics from my round today. Only had time for 9 before work. Shot 43, couple bad shots but overall a great round.
  19. The have a few pretty good dings on the bottom, mostly my 56 from the sand box. I really like these wedges and don't want to upgrade any time soon. I'm not sure if its legal but I have sharpened the grooves once. They produce decent back spin and for a few rounds after I sharpened them it would skin the ball pretty good. I play about 40 rounds a summer and 30 in the off season. They have worn very well for there age. If you ever see these wedges for a good price buy them you wont be disapointed.
  20. I'm playing in my first tournament in a weeks time, I've only ever played with friends. I would really like to get advice from you guys. Its Match play and i'm guarenteed two rounds. I know ill be nervous and I'll have bad shots like always but what have you done that made a great tournament? Thanks for your time.
  21. Perks of working in a metal shop we had some scrap kicking around for projects. Anything under 6 inches cant really be used.
  22. The are beryllium copper. I love them they are my favorite clubs in the bag
  23. Had some extra time in the shop the other day and some scrap metals so I made these. Made from copper and hand stamped. Never done anything like these before, what do you guys think?
