  1. How long is your course? Are you playing driver just because you like smashing it and then have awkward shots in? Or are you playing smart and trying to leave yourself a full shot into the green. I use my 3 wood on tight par 4s and when I want to keep the ball lower under the wind. I find my 3 almost more consistent thank my driver
  2. Whats your budget? That will play a huge factor is helping you set up your sirft bag of clubs. Like some others said I would go used, check out callawaypreowned, globalgolf, rockbottomgolf, 2ndswing. Personally I would put more money into my putter than any other club. Think about it your using your putter 2,3,4 times a hole and you use your driver on maybe half. Spend the money on a putter and wedges those are your scoring clubs. If this is your first year playing golf you might not even use your driver much until you can control it. I would look at getting 3/4 hybrid and maybe a 5 hybrid. and get a set of used irons something around 2016 they are very cheap and still very good tech wise. I'm playing callaway irons from 2016 and the only reason i'm changing is because I want to go to a musclebacks and had the extra money to spend on irons. 3 woods can be difficult to find something that works for you so try a bunch. You will notice as you play guys tend to keep the 3 wood around the longest without changing because it works. Long story short, I would buy a good putter, a good set of wedges then irons then hybrids and then start looking at woods. The driver is the most fun to hit on the driving range but at my home course I only play it on 6-8 holes. And if I'm having a bad round it stays in the bag.
  3. Just curious why you picked superbike. I love GP but marquez is unstoppable and if he aint hurt he's winning.
  4. Taken from golf canada website. I figured there were differences between countries, USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland. Common colors The most common tee colors used on golf courses are red, white and blue. Red tees, also referred to as ladies tees, are closest to the hole. They are primarily used by female golfers or players who cannot drive the ball more than 150 yards. White tees are used by most average golfers and are meant for those who can drive the ball 200 to 250 yards. Blue tees are usually the farthest from the hole and are reserved for experienced golfers or those who have exceptional driving range. Other Colors In addition to red, white and blue golf courses may also employ green, gold, black and silver. Green tees are rare and are used on courses to teach novice golfers. Black tees are used almost exclusively for special events such as club championships or professional tournaments. Gold tees can have two purposes. If placed near the tee they are meant for senior players. If a gold tee is the farthest tee then it is only used for championship play. Silver tees are for use by senior female players. Course Colors A New York Times article in 2009 revealed a growing trend in golf course design to abandon the traditional colors of red, white and blue. This trend is designed to counteract golfers' frequent habit of overestimating their driving ability and lengthening the amount of play time due to poorer performances. It is not uncommon for a newer golf course to use oak, granite or orange to designate distance. This requires players to consult the pro shop and puts them in a better position to play their best.
  5. Not gonna lie taco bell is one of my favorite "I hate myself" places to eat.
  6. I wonder how much difference there are between regions. Seems to be a lot of different color combinations of tee locations. In my area blue are the tips, white are next, then green/white two colors and the front tees are red. And on a couple of courses around here we have yellow tee markers way out in the fairway around where you would land your first tee shot for kids/youth.
  7. Very interesting, I learned something new today. I didn't think shaft weight would effect ball flight that much.
  8. I read that but must have gotten confused its pretty easy. It said he interchanges them, I assumed he interchanges them between rounds. Morikawa relied on his stellar iron play as well as his SIM Max Rescue 19° this week to reduce the par 5 5th hole to a eagle-birdie-birdie-eagle across all 4 rounds. Collin has two SIM Max Rescues that he interchanges depending on the course and approach shots he faces. He has a 19° that goes high, landing softly at 245 yards and another 19° that has a flatter trajectory landing at 245 yards with roll. Next question. How can you use a 19° twice and achieve a high ball and a low ball?
  9. Viktor Hovland has my vote, that kid is going to be a machine. I can't wait to see how some of the new comers do in the next couple of years. Colin, Matt W. and Viktor are all amazingly talented youngsters.
  10. Putt, putt and more putting. I have a putting machine in my basement for winter training. I'll putt 100-300 balls a night depending on how i'm feeling. Its great for getting to know the new feel of your new putter. Good luck, and expect some frustration on the course. Time is your friend.
  11. F1 10 years ago, NASCAR now. MotoGP or Wolrd Superbike
  12. They look fine, easy to clean them up. Won't even be to much elbow greese. You can use a rust product or just use steel wool or scotch brite to clean them up.
  13. Both are s***, but Ford has never left me stranded. Thanks Chevy (LIKE A ROCK on the side of the road) Popeyes by far.
  14. Strawberry SCUBA dive or Sky Dive?
  15. Personally I love shakes they taste awesome and get me the protein I need. Eating clean is way harder for me. I have the hardest time getting micronutrients because I'm not a fan of veggies. I eat them because I know I need to but I have to eat them raw because I can't stand mushy cooked veggies.
  16. I guess I'll be the first to say it, can you get fitted? Do you know your swing speed? Do you play often? Or do you just like to get out with some friends occasionally and wack balls. Fitting would be best, but if your like me I have to leave an island to get fit and it's not possible. I know my driver swing speed and my iron swing speed so finding the right shaft/head combo was a little experimental until I got it right. Would have been easier to get fit in the first place. Go hit as many clubs as you can and see what works best for you. My club has a bunch of demo clubs you can take out to the range or on the course. With a bunch of different shaft options. It's not a good as a fitting but will get you into the ball park.
  17. Could you not do both. Fast for 16 hours and then eat a bunch of small meals throughout your day. Instead of 1-3 big meals have 3-6 smaller meals like your snacking all day long but not Doritos hah.
  18. Shot a personal best on the front 9 at my home course. Was on the green in 2 on 9 and frigging 3 putted. God darnit. I guess I always have one hole I explode on haha.
  19. Was thinking about this in the shower (shower thoughts) What do you guys think were the best clubs of all time driver, woods, irons, wedges, putters whatever. What were the best clubs you never wished you sold? Curious of your thoughts and opinions and I couldn't find anything related when I searched all the threads. For me I would have to say one of the best selling golf clubs of all time. The 845s were in production for 13 years and still have one heck of a following. The 845s had great success on the PGA tour. Since so many Tommy Armour 845s Silver Scott irons were sold, you can find them used really cheap. The real prize is the slightly bigger 845s Titanium face version with steel shafts, as most were sold with graphite. These were the first hand me down clubs from my father and the clubs I learned how to play on hitting balls around the yard. I grew up on a farm with lots of land to wack balls into the trees.
  20. White scotch bright pad and a little oil has helped me many of times with light surface rust. Some guys like the rust, me I love clean clubs.
  21. I was playing the z-star xv and loved it, I'm not a good enough player to notice the difference off my driver with the q star and the price here was half the cost of the xv. I use the q-star now and very pleased with the results.
