  1. By no means did I think your post was sarcastic, I took it as an honest question. At this point in my life, a sore heel is a reminder to me that I’m not taking care of myself…and good on you for walking! Thanks for the well-wishes.
  2. I’ve recently tried Aertrex. They have a good arch support and memory foam (L-2200 model) as I enjoy the significant cushion. The L2200 is kind of bulky, but they have others. I had to go with the L400 in my tennis sneakers. They have less cushion, but are still comfortable plus occupy less volume. Over the years though, I gotten good results from SofSole and SuperFeet insoles. SuperFeet work well, but I find I have to replace them more often. Hope that helps!
  3. GaDawg - that was an interesting point. In my experience, I love FootJoys, but still deal with plantar fasciitis on and off for the past 20 years. For me, plantar comes down to having a really high arch (born with it), my weight (I can help that), and how well I’m stretched out (I can help that). If my calves and ham-strings are loose and I’m in decent shape, then I’m usually fine. However, having a high arch makes it so that I need extra support factory shoe insoles won’t provide. The fact that you walk all the time is awesome, and probably leads to 2 of the 3 factors I listed being a non-issue for you. Ultimately, I’ve gone to a Podiatrist, and taking their advice is ultimately the way to go. Thanks for the though-provoking point, and Go Dawgs!!!
  4. I would agree with your premise. I’ve been playing a dual set of Cobra irons for 2 years now that I really enjoy. On the Cobra website, I had to buy each club individually, but I basically bought Forged-Tec 7 through gap standard length, but the 4-6 are King SZ game-improvement are 6-iron length. I’ve reallly enjoyed the set as I bought them, however, I’ve found that I have a distance gapping issue with the 4 and 5 iron. Functionally, they both go between 200 to 220 yards. So, I’m basically in the market for a standard-length driving iron as I’ve never really enjoyed hitting hybrids (my own personal bias/mental block). However, I really didn’t like looking at a standard-length wedge, but I could possibly go single-length to the gap. Basically, I really like the idea of single-length clubs, and I hope that they’ll continue to put research $$ behind the concept. Y’all have a great spring and summer!!
  5. I grew up hitting irons with thin lines, so I’m pretty well accustomed to that look. In fact, I find it far more reassuring than looking at something akin to a brick.
  6. Recently was a three Mizunos forged wedge (52, 56, 60) guy with bounces steadily going downward as the loft rose. But, after getting new irons, I went to get fitted for wedges from Taylormade based upon my head pro’s rec. Ended up with a 54 high bounce and 60 low bounce. Glad I got fitted as the gapping between 52 and my gap wedge was negligible, and this made much more sense. So far I’m extremely happy.
  7. I agree with you in terms of Superfeet, and the differences as to where cushioning is provided in various shoes. I will say that I love the orange Superfeet insoles with my FootJoys.
  8. I’ve had plantar fasciitis, and can attest to the pain and aggravation that comes along with that tear. I’ve found that I like Superfeet and Sofsole brand I bought at a big bocce outdoors place. I’m intrigued to try Protalis brand. Personally, I’d love to see a MGS most wanted done on these products.
  9. I was thinking of buying a whole iron set, but the Cobra website is now saying they're out of stock. At this point, I'd wager your best be would be the online sites or the big box stores. Best of luck.
  10. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I have been playing 40 years now. I play to a 10/mid-80's most days. What do you love about golf?
