The rain was the best and most dramatic part of the whole race. 

And for Max to gain those seconds back all via the 3rd sector is just wild. When they showed his + splits behind Alonso for sectors 1 and 2, I thought for sure it was over. 

Wow. 🤯 Best qualifying of the season by far … so good. 🏆 

Had a chance to play Dye’s River Course in Blacksburg and what a beautiful course it is. Cannot recommend it enough. Had a wide range of tee box options to play from, with tee shots into the fairways that are I feel are fair to all skill levels … but from 150yds and in, you have to be skilled. 
It certainly sucks to have four 3-putts during the round 😂, but I absolutely would play it again. 

Played their new Prime X  during my back 9 ystrdy and came away impressed. Felt like reconnecting with an old friend, becoming familiar with his/her personality once again, but they’re just that much better this time around. Lol 
Played the Chrome Soft X LS and I reeeally love that ball off the tee. For me and my 105 swing speed, it just works and goes far. 
Whereas the Prime X felt more familiar to me around the green. Had b2b birdies with the Snell, too. 

I'll need to update my profile signature from the Snell MTB Black, to their new Prime X ... just rcvd their new balls ystrdy and very much looking fwd to putting them into play this Sunday. 
And like a few others have mentioned on here, it was MGS that introduced me to Snell back in '18 thru '19 season and I played some of my best golf with the MTB Blacks. They really were a great for me, especially off the tee with my driver. But alas, Covid and supply chain issues affected them and they limited their orders to 2 dzn at a time with no bulk pricing breaks ... so onto Vice it was. 
Was a Titleist white box tester last season, and was shocked by how much more distance I was getting with the ProV1x. Have always been a high ball hitter and previously I always played non-x version lines of golf balls from different OEMs. From the Vice Pro Plus, to the ProV1x and TP5x, I really was hitting my drives an extra 7-10 yards further. Excited to see how their new Prime Xs will do. 
Also, really love the new Snell logo. 

Your Dolphins looked pretty good against the Denver "School of the Blind" Broncos.  I got a feeling it won't be as easy against my Bills come Sunday.  I'll actually be traveling up to Miami to rate Don Shula's golf course on Monday for the Florida State Golf Association.  So, unfortunately, I'll probably miss most of the game.  

This is my less than enthusiastic congratulatory concession. Well played gentleman. Couldn’t have thrown a better round against you guys so kudos to you. Maybe we will get some better luck in week 3.

But I am still following up good drives with poor approach shots, or hitting good approach shots followed by bad putting. Frustrating and good all the same. 
Lost my temper at the par 3 14th 🙄, after a nice start to the back 9 with some clutch shots and putts … and allowed that to fester onto the next tee box and doubled again. 

The new to me 10.5*G410 LST arrived Wednesday afternoon just in time for my front 9 match play Thursday afternoon.  (I have to play in two separate 9’s this week.)  I am looking for a little more altitude than I am getting from the 9* 849 Pro, set open a click lowering the loft to about 8.25*.   My SS isn’t going up this week so the Ping 10.5* goes from the box to the bag.  I had played a G410+ previously and liked it a lot.  It was a coin toss after being a tester for the 849 Pro.  About 2 years ago I moved the 849 Pro to gamer status and sold the G410+, so this is back to the future for me.
I headed to the course, figured to hit a few range balls with it to get the feel and then head out.  Got to the range and the entire hitting area has been aerated and seeded so it’s closed!  Only irons were allowed from in front of the normal hitting area.  So after a few warm up iron shots I head to the tee and pull out the G410.  Some would say that is questionable judgement, but heck, I can fall out of bed and hit a driver so why not hit it for the first time in my match play round?!?!  Which brings up a good question, why am I falling out of bed?   🤔
A couple practice swings on the tee box and it felt familiar, well balanced, looks great, it’s showtime!  I took a smooth 85% swing, felt the soft, solid thump of a sweet spot hit, did my best Tiger club twirl on the follow through, started my 10 second pose and thought I heard a chorus of angels as I watched a nice effortless high draw follow the dogleg left.   I started to look at the face to see where the impact spot was and I swear it spoke to me in a Jim Nance voice saying “Hello friend” !!!   😍
First fairway hit of many to come.  I played the back 9 this evening and combined for 6 / 9 fairways on driver holes and one miss was by a yard when it rolled through the fairway.  The putter let me down a little with two 3 putts and two missed 6’ers.  Overall a 3 over 75 which will need some help from my partner with my 4 ‘cap only getting to -1 net.

🚨 PERSONAL BEST ALERT! 🚨
- 36/39 = 75 (+3) 😍
- 6/15 FIR
- 11/18 GIR (2 birdies)
- 30 Putts (12 2-putts, 6 1-putts)
Cold, dreary morning and the course was pretty empty. I really took my time deciding on shots and it paid off!
I actually didn't hit very many good shots from the tee today (bad case of the hooks with driver and Super Hybrid), but I hit my irons very well, chipped OK and putted excellently. And, down the stretch, my driver perked up for me.
Played the front nine at even par for the first time ever, highlighted by a 25-foot birdie putt on No. 5. I was +2 coming to No. 16 (probably the second hardest hole on the course) and blasted a beautiful drive that led to a par. I very nearly hooked my tee shot on No. 17 out of bounds left, making a mess of the hole with a double bogey to get to +4 heading to No. 18 tee. (My previous best was +4 during Cobra Connect last summer.)
Most of the pressure was off after the double bogey. I uncorked the longest drive I've ever hit on No. 18, 280 yards uphill, leaving 95 to the flag. Lined up a 58 wedge, landed a few yards short of the flag and ended up with my best approach all day. Knocked in the birdie putt for a new personal best.

Feels amazing to put a great round together this early in the season. Lots of offseason work paying off!

Getting in my second round at one of the private clubs I caddy at. I know the course inside and out but this will be my first time playing it. I’m pretty sure I can play my most aggressive round of the season and make it pay big dividends. This strategy is so questionable there’s no way it can fail!
