I have been trying things out to try and figure out my most consistent setup. I currently have a 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 hybrid and 4 iron at the top end of the bag. In an ideal world, i would have a 3 iron driving iron which would be one of the options, and i would select the clubs between driver and 4 iron based on the course and weather, but as of now its those. I used to have a Gapr mid 3 driving iron hybrid in my last bag setup, but decided to get a 5 wood this time around to see if they had more versatility. I picked up the Hybrid on a great sale, and if i see a good deal on a u500/u505 or a similar utility 3 iron, i may grab it to have that option. I think its all preference, but i would rather have a club that i use in the bag, vs a never used option, so for me at least, its just about figuring out which would actually be the most useful and helpful for my game.

Gym Work

I feel like flexibility work, core, back and legs are the biggest areas for me and supporting the golf swing. But its a fine line as when I was in great shape and lifting heavy, my swing suffered and the flexibility was lost. I feel like any distance gains from strength were negated by loss of range of motion. General cardio as well, as I like to walk courses and so need the stamina to not lose distance on the final 1/3rd of my rounds. -
I play a Set PW (T100s) at 44, then vokey 50, 54 and 58. I am considering changing things up though as the 58 is used so little that i might try dropping it and moving the 54 to a 56. I feel like i want a fitting on this specific area of my game, but with stock from previous years to save money haha. I think it comes down to your play style and game. Do you need more top of the bag options and help? then drop a wedge. Do you need more short-game options and versatility, then you are likely sacrificing a long club. I think it probably comes down to the course you are playing, but I definitely struggle with this decision.

I had this same worry. I would have ideally like to get fit by the coach i was working with, but this just didn't work out. I went ahead and got fit for new clubs and plan to do lessons next. For me, the fitting showed I needed longer clubs(+.5") and a stiffer shaft(X-stiff) than i was playing before. I actually feel a lot more comfortable now and think my lessons will be even more effective. If you think you have that kind of issues with the current clubs it may make sense?

Most of my 3 wood use is making up for terrible drives. I use it maybe 1-2 times every couple rounds. I’m also contemplating removing, it but will likely wait till I can do a good full bag fitting and analyze my gaps and makeup. Shotscope had been a huge help seeing some of these issues in my current t setup.
