  1. Yeah. The new additions on Defense are paying off. Last year they were 3rd to last in points allowed. They could score a lot, but hard to consistently win games 40-36. Holding the Chiefs to 20, was a good start for that defense, even with the caveat that Kelce was out. They look better in that regard. If they can give up about 4-5 fewer points per game than last year, they will have a great season. (from a Bills fan).
  2. I have parts on order. I am building a new set of Maltby's. 7-GW. and a 6 Hybrid from Cobra. The Maltby set is the KE4 Max. I am pairing with a NS Pro Zelos 8 Shaft Set (light weight steel) cut to +3/4", and Mid Size GP CPX grips. I am planning to replace (sell) a set of 5-GW Maltby STi2 irons with Score LT Shafts (standard length), and Mid Size GP MCC+4 grips. I like the STi2s, but I wanted a lighter shaft (but not Graphite) and longer. (I am 6'4") and my wtf measurements suggest 1/2 to 1" longer than standard depending on who you ask. I have everything else, but the shafts are arriving today. I will build them tonight.
  3. The Tee shot when someone is letting you play through!

  5. This is going to be a little long, but I have been searching and testing for a while. I started playing golf 3 years ago. While I have worked my way into the 90's and low 100's most rounds, my putting has been pretty abysmal. Over that 3 year period, I have had 7 putters. I have tinkered with face balanced, toe hang, armlock and even a GP Putter (Broomstick for face on putting). Last year I tried a Big 7 Stroke Lab Armlock, and while I liked it from inside 10 feet, I was terrible with it outside 10'. Zero Distance control. Anything longer than 20 was even worse because any speed I put on it would just pop the ball up and get it bouncing, which is never a good result. So I gave up that armlock and went and bought a Ping Fetch from 2021. The black one. I like the putter and the trick that it can pick the ball out of the cup. But I didn't like the grip. It was too small. So I changed it out for a Flat Cat solution large grip. That seemed to help somewhat with starting the ball on my intended line, but I still missed most putts at 5-6 feet.. Like almost all of them. This year I started tracking my shots more, including my putts, and I found I was averaging about 39-40 putts a round with my worst at 42. Six weeks ago I had a round at 94, but i had 7 three putts. Without that bad of a putting performance, I might have broken 90. So as a tinkerer looking for a solution, I decided to try another armlock. I remember my distance control with the Big 7 was bad, but hell, it's bad with all putters. Anyway, remembering how I used to pop the ball up with the Big 7, I did some research and ended up buying a Cobra Agera armlock at 41 inches. The reason I chose this putter was the SIK face. The Big 7 was a flat 7 degrees everywhere, while the Cobra with SIK Face had 4 different lofts designed to keep you consistent no matter how you hit the ball on that face.. That putter came in 3 weeks ago. And while I liked the roll off the face (even though the sound is a bit ticky), it didn't sit right. I could not see my line. The stated lie angle was 72 degrees, and when I set up over the ball, It was just way too out in front of me. If I pulled it in closer, the heel would be way off the ground. I took it to a local pro shop and had the lie measured and it was 71.5 degrees. I worked with the fitter to bend it more upright until I had it where I was comfortably over the club head in my stance (76.5 degrees upright). And that was a night and day difference. I have exactly 1 round under my belt with it and I was on target and close. I had ONE three putt where I blew it by the hole about 10 feet on a downslope, but everything else was either in, or an easy tap in two putt. My round had 33 putts, and really could have been better as I burned the lip a couple times and a couple inches short a couple times. Looking at my stats on my roughly 40 other rounds this year, I never had less than 37 putts. I don't know if this last round was an anomaly, or whether the armlock-SIK face-Upright lie is my sweet spot, but I am hoping it wasn't just dumb luck as I am playing a tournament this weekend.
  6. It's going to sound wierd, but I solved mine through use of a Gyro Ball/Powerball. Train for about 3-5 minutes a day with it for a couple weeks and off and on as needed. It seems more like a wrist exerciser, but doing it with your elbow straight, and flexed alternately for a couple minutes at a time really works all the muscles of your forearm and upper arm all the way to the shoulder. I think this really gets bloodflow and healing to the joints. https://powerballs.rpmpower.com/applications/tennis-elbow-treatment/
  7. My vote is for the SIK face. In years past, I used a soft face Odyssey 7. It was ok, but I never had what i'd call confidence with the putter. I knew I liked the soft face rather than the hard face putters, but I'm not sure it really showed up in performance numbers. Last year I decided to try an arm lock, and I bought the Odyssey Big 7 stroke lab. That had a soft face with the micro hinges, but I still had problems on any long putts. I think the arm lock style is deadly from short range but on anything long that putter would Pop the ball up in the air, which messed with my distance control. Because I couldn't handle long putts with it I gave it up and tried an 35" Evnroll putter. While I rather liked the gravity grip, I wasn't in love with the putter itself. Then Cobra came out with their arm lock sik face 3D printed putters. I had to try it. I love the thing. I'm as good short range as I was with the big seven but I don't have any of the same problems popping up long distance putts as I did with that big 7 putter. I credit that to the sik face. No matter how I approach it even at length the roll is very pure. This is the first time in a long time where within a couple of months I wasn't itching to get another putter. I can see keeping this for a long time. That's my two cents, take it or leave it.
  8. I am currently playing some Custom irons from Maltby. They are a decent club really. I like them, but Would like to see what these Cobra's feel like. (I am LOVING my Armlock 3d Printed Grandsport/ Maybe with the irons and the putter I could become a Cobra Guy.. My only other experience with Cobra Irons was the F8 Single Length and the single length experiment just wasn't for me.
  9. My vote is YES.. I don't carry one. Never had success with it. I rarely use my 56 either (But I don't play a courses with a lot of sand bunkers). I think that the transition from 56 to 60, somewhere in that loft range, is where I see shots that tend to slip up the face and end up short, or I blade them across the green because I had to swing harder than I am comfortable with from short distance.
  10. Moonwood (LOL), only kinda joking. I don't have one, but I played around with one and kinda liked it.
  11. Go and try the Kirklands from Costco. You really can't find much better of a deal for the price (not even close) and it is a performance urethane covered ball.
