I’m late to the party. Vikings fan, I could not be happier Cousins is gone. IMO he single handily hamstring this team in the amount he was paid and the unwillingness to help the team in this regard. Vikings gave him everything he wanted and the ROI is just not there. Good luck knob Atlanta.
I like the moves they made so far. Only guy that needs paid is JJ.
on the QB front, we shall see.
can’t wait to see the lions go all lions this next year. When they are good for than one year in a row I’ll give them some credit. Till then I’m only Barry Sanders fan.

I have a question, I have always wondered about these DTC Brands as I don't understand how they sell their clubs as far as demo goes??? Are people looking at them online and reading a description and just buying a set of irons without ever hitting them???Or do they setup at events and sell their wares as people try them???? Some of them seem to be doing well but the only one I've ever seen out at a demo day is Hogan and I've hit some that were butter and hit others that are bunk but they are always sweet looking!!! Just curious because I could not imagine buying a set of sticks without hitting a couple buckets at least??? That to me would be like taking a date to a restaurant you've never met wrapped up in a box and opening it at the restaurant
Sub 70 demo program is $20 per club. For irons they will send you a 6 & 9 iron typically. Upfront cost is like $150 I think. Once returned they refund you everything minus the $20. I have used this a bunch.
same with woods/driver's.
they also have fitting carts, you would need to go on their website and see if there is one close by. For me it wasn’t an option until recently. There is a cart fitting about 4hrs away that I have not been to, so I can’t say how that works. The fittings I have done with with them has been at their location in Sycamore,Ill.

As much as I like the looks of the Wilson dynapower forged and the Srixon ZX 5/7 MKII, I’m leaning towards Sub 70 based off price. Either the 699 Pro V2 or the 659 CB. Anyone play either and have any feedback? The only thing I really don’t like about the 699s is the back badge
I have the 699 pros, it the v2. I love mine and still feel and perform great.
I bought these over the T200 3 or 4 years ago.
I’ll be at Sub70 tomorrow to hopefully find a shaft for the driver. Possible driving iron as I have lost all confidence in the driver. It’s the user not the equipment.

The one thing I always try to get in are my morning stretches. Doesn’t happen everyday, but I can feel the difference when I miss a couple day.
this week it’s two early (leaving the house at 4am) trips the airport and then straight to work. Then I get to leave early and get on a plane myself.
hopefully I can get something done in the hotel.

ZERO workouts for this week. It's just been one of those where it feels like if something could go wrong it will. That's just a feeling it actually true, I'm sure we have all had them.
I have been getting my back stretches in though and I'll take that as I need those just to get through the day.
Have great workouts, stay the course.
I know, take my own advice.

Looking at new drivers. Went into CC and couldn’t get a ball in the air. Fitter (Chris) said I think we need to reschedule. I agreed.
Chris was like, get a couple range sessions in maybe a lesson and then come back in.
I went straight to XGolf since it was good Rainey day here and busted out some frustration. Something clicked and started hitting better shots that I think he could use.
I'm going to take a lesson or 3 and then go back.
that all said, we started with Ping 430 in a Alidia shaft. We tried another shaft that I didn’t pay attention to as I was struggling.
not sure I liked the 430.
Even watching Ian Frazer and the driver competition. The srixon looked to be more accurate just not as long. I’m looking for accuracy first and doesn’t want more distance.

I've had two. Going to ask about that same thing when I go in for the next one. I know I will need another before the end of the summer with all the caddy work I do.
I've been trying my CBD cream to no avail. I have a scrip for a pain reliever that does work but none of this is a long term solution. For now, it's just focus on basics like push ups, sit ups and dumbbell work along with resuming my speed training.
I found this cream called “VooDoo pain Relief”. I like it, it works for me, I need to order more as my back is always sore. (MRI coming soon).
Hank Haney peddles it.

My plan took a major detour the last week or so as my knee with a torn meniscus is flaring up with all my added activity so I’m sidelined until I can get another cortisone shot. Gonna have to get it repaired once and for all this fall. For now I’m focusing on upper body work and diet. I’m up 3-4 pounds so working on a plan to get that under control with my knee not cooperating.
I tore my meniscus in June 2017. It was a ****** to walk. My work then I was putting in 25,000 steps a day. I had surgery on Friday August 3rd and was back to work Monday. It was a slower pace but I got through it with no pain, just fatigue in the knee. As soon as I woke up after the surgery I could tell it was better.
if possible I’d suggest getting it sooner rather than later. No sense in going through our short lives in pain.

Not sure how I missed this reply, but is that room where you keep your workout gear?
I have nothing that resembles a man cave at all! Anything I’d want to display is stored in our crawl space or in the utility room with my tools. Maybe someday…No, workout gear is in the garage. All I have in there right now is crappy desk, laptop extra screen and a tv

Ok so I suck at taking pictures. Only got a couple I’ll put up.
seafood and wine festival was fun. Kinda funny how ( I don’t mean to bash my wife here) has no issues spending $500 on 8 bottles of wine, but if I want to play a nice course for $100 it’s the end of bank account.
Saturday was the festival and Sunday was a 2 1/2 mile hangover beach walk. That was way too far but it did a headache good.
last week I over did my workouts. My back was pretty pissed and decided to be a little biotch. So walking the festival, the beach and hooking the trailer all took 4 times longer.
incident track food intake either and haven’t this week yet.
I did play in a simulator tourney on Tuesday. it was a scramble, indoors and basically no walking. I feel ok today
im hoping to get back to workouts next week, just need to be more mindful of frequency

First time posting to this thread but no better time than now as I was just given the green light to resume strenuous exercise after about a month of forced rest because COVID did a number on my lungs last month.
Before that I was doing a lot of running, with the hopes of running a marathon in the fall of this year. That plan may have to be abandoned now, but I got back to both running and workouts this past weekend.
I did a 4km run on Sunday which used to be a short and easy run for me, but I struggled and my heart rate was quite high the whole time. A bit demoralizing that I lost the fitness so quickly but looking forward to some of those newbie gains again.
Also did a home bodyweight workout, mostly push-up variations and core for this first one back. I plan to ease back into to some kettlebell workouts that I was doing before. But would welcome anyone's tips for home workouts that are golf focused now that my season here in Canada is fast approaching.
Covid did my lungs in when I had it in Oct 2020. Walking 500 yards would put me on the couch for a 2 hr sleep. Took me a few months to get close to where I was. It does get easier, just be consistent which it sounds like you are.
Hope you heal up quick.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?
I have been playing Golf of and on for about 10yrs now but recently decided I wanted to get really good at it. My normal score is mid to low 80s.
What do you love about golf?
What I love most about this game is the fact that it’s a game of managing failure. Also the many different styles different golfers bring to the table swinging their swings and just the enjoyment of a purely struck shot and the occasional long birdie putts.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?
What brought me here is I watch a lot of reviews on clubs, balls, swing videos and golf highlights in general and I also search online for reviews and came across MGS website and really enjoyed the YouTube videos they have and the information provided very astute reviews. Unfortunately I do not know any other Spies but I definitely look forward to getting to know others and converse and hear different Points Of Views to try and help better my understanding of this game.
Where are you from? What is your home course?
I am from the Pacific Northwest specifically Seattle Washington the courses I usually golf at are called Jefferson Park Golf Course where Fred Couples used to play, Foster Golf Links, Riverbend, Auburn, Lake Wilderness, so I don’t really have a home course yet but will soon
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?
The Best Sunny Days course is dry and you can let the ball fly, The Worst it rains a lot.
What do you do for a living?
How’d you pick your user name?
I Like the way it sounded lol and I’m from Seattle our area code is (206)
Welcome the forum. Tons of great info, debates, questions. There are a few MGS peeps from your area. I’m in the Portland area.
good luck in your endeavor for improvement .

I have not found that I need it daily yet. Back in the day maybe when I was doing hardwood floor installs but these days my workouts just are not enough to justify that much (I know they do recommend it as a daily though for those particularly active). I really enjoy the Jocko for daily, not as much sodium.
I'll give jocko a try.
very good article, new ideas for summer golf drinks.

Top of the pot spies! "Winter" seems to be officially over here in the valley of the sun. We nearly reached 80F yesterday and today looks like a repeat. Going to spend time at the range and practice area right after the 1245 shotgun start... come to learn that's the time to go during peak season as it's a ghost town immediately afterwards. Plus, observed from a safe distance, it's a hoot watching the circus of carts heading out. Have a great Friday everyone!
Apache Wells does the 8am & 1 PM shotgun start as well. It's tailgating for golf and it's pretty cool and funny to see.

I use LMNT almost daily. I stay somewhat active with my job and I find myself not keeping up with my water intake. I get the chocolate flavor and put it in my coffee, Don’t knock it till try it. I then have water container and will use the lemon flavor or when I am feeling somewhat like gambling I’ll blindly grab packet from the multi flavor box. You the jalopeno for a little kick, that’s a good one for the course.

I like the Tonal:
I really like the Tonal a lot. It is hands down the best and easiest strength training setup I have ever seen. Also, I have never strength trained as consistently as I have since owning the Tonal. It's definitely worth it for us because the closest gym is more than 15 minutes away and with 3 little kids it's hard to get out of the house for anything. We have it arranged where my wife works out in the mornings and I work out in the evenings, after the kids go to bed. I use it 5-6 days a week.
The only people who would not be able to use a Tonal are people who are striving for the highest single rep max weight or body builders who are too strong for the max digital weight the Tonal can provide. I consider myself pretty strong and I'm not close to maxing out the weight on any workout program.
Cost:
Even though I say it's worth it for us, it's probably not going to save you any money over most conventional gyms and definitely will not save money over most free weight setups. However, you are basically doing workout programs with a personal trainer all the time and I know that costs a lot of money at gyms. The purchase cost is about $4k (you can do payment plans but the interest rate is bananas) and the monthly cost is $60. It was easy for us to justify the cost because of the convenience, no easy access to gyms, it has pre & post natal workouts for my wife, no room for free weights and it'll be used by the whole family eventually. There are other benefits also, but those were the list we had going when we made the purchase.
Space:
My ceilings are 7' high and that's enough room for me at 5'9". If you were 6' tall you would definitely need a 7'6" or taller ceiling. With the Tonal arms out, it only takes up about 3'x4'. With the arms stowed it sticks out 6" off the wall. If you were to put a Tonal in a bedroom, I think the room would have to be 8' wide x 10' long to be able to do all the workouts.
Let me know if you have more questions about it. Here's my setup with it:
WOW, Thats a setup thanks for sharing. Wish something this would have been around when my kids were littles.
My kids are for the most part out of the house. I now have my sons old room as my "cave". Won't call it man as my wife still gives me input as to what should go in here. :).

This week has been pretty good calorie intake wise. My only hiccup was that I pounded through about 8 oreos yesterday afternoon. I haven't been tracking on an app, but I used to and have a pretty good idea about it. I should probably get back on the calorie tracking in an app.
Workouts have been good for me this week. It's the final week of this "Everyday Fit" Tonal program and I'll be happy when it's done. I do have to admit that even though I've been down on the program, I have lost weight during the program and gained muscle, so the results were solid.
Keep at it everyone!
How do like the Tonal? Is it worth the cost?
space wise, how much room do you actually need?
I could start a small gym just with the stuff I have in my garage.

Aw. man. I love Newport. Check out Rogue Brewery and don't miss out on Mo's!
I am pretty sure we will see a brewery or 3. friends that I am going with have a plan, so I just rolling with the plan. I have been there for a day at a time. This is my first multi day trip to Newport. We tend to go to Seaside as my neighbor has house there 2 blocks from main drag.
Mo's is good, but we have found a few smaller localist joints that are better.

At the end of the day you're going to be within a few hundred calories, which is close enough. Pair it with a consistent exercise routine and you'll have a coherent idea of what is going on vs what is expended. It's more about having a good idea of what the energy potential of the foods you consume vs. the effort you put out if you are working towards a goal. You can't lose weight if you don't know what you are eating within a few percentage points, and this app makes its pretty dang easy for me.
Also - smash some seafood for me at the festival! Iowa isn't exactly known for it, so it's a delicacy that I don't get to indulge in much!
Home made dinners are tough as well. Tonight we had Beef roast with Bok choy, onions, cup of cooked rice (easy to load in the app) and just a green salad with carrots, mushrooms and french dressing.
Order taken on the Seafood, I'll see if I remember to take a few pics as share.
I do miss me some good Midwest corn on the cob in the summer. It just isn't the same out here in the Oregon.

I have the MyFitnessPal app, it literally takes 30 seconds to input whatever you just ate. So far today I've logged the 4 beers I've had poolside and the breakfast I ate. Took me all of 2 minutes collectively to know that I have consumed 900 calories and probably need to go for another walk. It's not brain science or rocket surgery - make like a Nike ad and just do it, bruh!
I have a fit bit and it also has a tracker, I've used in the past. The issue I have is when I need to make adjustments to food I’m trying to enter. Like removing mayo of a sandwich (Jimmy John’s) it’s a PITA to add what I actually eat. It takes longer than it’s worth to me. I guess I could just enter it as is, but then I feel like I get hosed out of precious calories I so desperately try to savor.
I’ll give it a whirl and see how I do. Should be fun as I have the seafood festival this weekend. I already know that’s going to be an entry issue.

Todays workout: Hypertrophy Pull Week 2/4
Weight: 195.5
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/14054063892?share_unique_id=190
A little abbreviated today due to my flight, but still managed to get some great reps in. Somehow managed to lose 5# overnight - WT actual F. I must retain water like a pregnant lady, maybe I should get my hormone levels checked. Off to Miami for a couple days for work, hopefully the gym has some decent equipment, because I don't really want to have to use the running shoes I packed for an emergency.
Yesterdays numbers
Calories consumed: 1,546
Calories burned: 3,286
I WAAAYYYY to scared to keep track of my calories. My wife keeps saying I need too, but I am not ready just yet. Sad thing is that is one thing that would help the most.

NFL thread! What are you thinking?

Posted
Kirk will give you stats, he’s a good guy and GOOD QB he is not in the top 10.
he had said he loves MN and wants to stay and wanted to work with the team to try and work out a deal. In the end MN just can’t pay him $45 mil a year, JJ 35ish mill, their left tackle top money for that position which I’m sure will be mid 20’s even with the cap going up. Atlanta has the money to pay their players right now as I think you have a younger team, correct me if I’m wrong on that.
I didn’t want Kirk in 2018 due to how much money he wanted and eventually received. Not his fault a team paid him that more power to him.
to your point of paying him 28 mil to the cap is due to pushing money down the line in order to pay him and keep the team under the cap. More to it but may plane is taking off.
I hope he proves me wrong, but Atlanta will not win in the playoffs or a SB with Kirk.
all that said I’m still pissed ay the Dirty Birds.
