  1. I was just starting to break into the 80s on a regular basis which felt good.  I wanted to take some lessons to fix a few things and perhaps elevate the game even further.  Long story short the lessons broke me completely.  I was at a point a few months ago that I almost considered giving up the game.  It was that bad.  Any tips on  regaining the swing and some confidence?

  2. I recently purchased a set of 699 Pros, 4-PW and love them!    KBS Tour 120 stiff shafts.  Worked with a local fitter to get my specs down, called Jason at Sub70 and we worked out the details.  I have gotten them out on the course 3 times so far.  The ball flight is incredible.  Really enjoying them so far.

The more I see these the more I like them,I just wonder if I’m good enough to play them

I recently broke into the 80s with some consistency and felt like the time was right for me to make that next leap.   This felt like a natural step and I am very glad I took it.  Before the deep freeze settled in I was able to hit the 9, 6 and 4 on the range and I love them!  KBS Tour 120 shafts, plus 1 degree lie and 1/4" longer shafts.

  4. If you are losing a lot of balls and just starting out you might try a used ball web site.  Find the ball you like and get some mint or near mint in the kind you like.  You can generally buy them in bulk, they are slightly cheaper and you don't feel as bad about losing them.  Once your game gets better and you are not losing them as much you can jump up to the brand new.  Just a thought.

    1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?  Been playing seriously about 12-13 years.  Handicap is about 18.

    2. What do you love about golf? I like being outside and I like the mental aspect of a physical sport.   You learn a lot about forgetting mistakes and moving on.

    3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?  I love the information they provide and the testing.

    4. Where are you from? What is your home course? Manhattan, KS.  Don't really have a home course, but I play Colbert Hills, Wildcat Creek and Rolling Meadows.

    5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?  Best: Lots of great courses and not too expensive.  Doesn't take long to drive to play.  Worst:  The rough is pretty penal here in terms of balls flat out disappearing and the winters are rough.

    6. What do you do for a living? Human Resources.

    7. How’d you pick your user name? Just one I use.  No special meaning.
